  1. I was banded Monday and doing great. I posted more details in the springers group but wanted to share I'm on my way to a speedy recovery!
  2. Hi Springers! Sorry for being out of the loop for the last few days. I was hoping Mexico would have a good net connection but it didn't. They had one but it was so slow I couldn't keep my focus. YEP, I'm banded! The surgery went great. I'm not going to sit here and tell you it's all wonderful. I'm sore and been uncomfortable for the last few days but each morning I wake up and it's better. The surgery itself only took about 15 minutes, or so I was told. I wanted to get up immediately to go the bathroom and get myself walking. I heard the more you walk, the faster they release you. My surgery was at 9:00 and we were back to the hotel by 2:00. The first day I spent walking, sitting, and laying around. I think I was looking for a place to get comfortable. My shoulders hurt like hell. I was lucky enough to have a very good friend along who was willing to rub my shoulders. He was truly a blessing. I would maybe suggest one of the shoulder massage machines if you have one. I think the motion breaks up the gas faster. I am still sleeping with a heating pad. The first night I slept with pain meds and did ok, You don't want to move around much as rolling over pulls on the incisions. At one point it hurt so much I thought I had pulled open one of my incisions but later discovered it's not the incision that actually hurts, it's the port which is just under my belly fat. I'm sure it's secured in the muscle and when you move a certain way it pull on the port line. No Bueno! I'm on day 4th day now and have to say other than body aches and pains, the port area is the only thing that hurts. Bloating or jiggly fat!. OMG! I'm really not sure it's bloating but I look like a very fat frog. I have NO muscle control of my tummy and it's extended. It just sits there. No sucking it in for me now. I keep wondering if it's still gas or just lack of muscle control. Either way... loose gym pants and t-shirts are a must. I haven't taken any pain meds since the second night but I am taking Advil twice a day. Advil seems to be working better for the body aches anyway and I've heard sometimes the pain meds slows things down. So my food and weight. I've been put on a 7 day clear liquid diet followed by a 14 days liquid diet (I can add yogurt and protein after the first 7). I had one cup of broth the first day with juice and water, and added jello and a Popsicle yesterday. I'm not really hungry but know I need to stay hydrated. I haven't lost any weight since the surgery and for some reason that doesn't surprise me yet. I still feel very puffy and know it will change over the next few weeks. I hope everyone is doing well. Please feel free to ask me ANYTHING. I'm still off for the next few days recovering so I'll be around more now.
  3. Have a great time Deb!
  4. Rant away! That's what we're here for. Sounds like your making the best move even if you do have to push the date back a bit. May is going to be an exciting month.

  11. We're 75 members strong and counting Ladies! That's awesome. All here on different journeys with the same goal in mind. Get healthier, lose weight and enjoy the process. Thank you each for joining the group and supporting me. I'm really happy I have you all hear to help me keep my mind focused on the positive! So there was a thread going on about Non-Measurable Results, which was a big hit. I've been thinking it would be fun to think of (and share) some of the activities you want to start doing once you've lost some weight and gotten back in shape. Remember we all need to start exercising. If we give our exercise program as much attention as our diet over the next few months, we'll all be HARD BODIES! I want to water ski again! OH and dance too! Have a great day Springers! IT'S FRIDAY!
  12. Congrats Deb! I've been thinking about you a lot this week and watching for your posts. I'm excited for you! (((Deb))) < your cyber hug
  13. Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!

  15. I don't think TMI is an issue in this group. I've been doing pretty good. Again, not doing the scale every day. I'm sure my weight has gone up because of TOM but I just keep moving forward. It's coming up fast for many of us. The next few weeks are going to be very interesting and exciting.
  16. I have 2 boys (27 & 22) and a mini me ( 20 yrs), 3 dogs, a black lab, old english bulldog and a weiner. My life is always interesting. I have to laugh or I'd go insane. I lived in Denison Texas for about 6 months years ago. NOT everything is big in Texas but the mosquitos can carry you away. I'll be whining about the heat soon enough. Maybe it won't bother me as much cuz I'll be SKINNY!!! hehe 5 days and counting j~
  17. Ok.. .I have to brag. It's 9:00 am here and it's 72 degrees here in Phoenix. I've been sleeping with the windows wide open. The orange blossoms are in full bloom and this IS my favorite time of year! Next week, I'm going to plant a veggie garden while I'm recovering. So how is it in your world?
  18. I've had 3 babies. I don't care who sees my "business" as long as it doesn't involve me taking home anymore bundles of joy.
  19. I start my TOM today!! dang it! I always gain when I start. guess it's better than next Tuesday. oh and BTW........ I think I'm way too old for this crap anymore
  20. All these dates are coming up fast! Anyone else want to share? We have a pretty large group here. Lots going on!
  21. I really like the motto "One day at a time!" I can do pretty much anything for one day and that will be my focus. Today! Keep us posted,
  22. Maybe tell your surgeon about it. If he says okay, run with it. my 2 cents, Julz~
