  1. I just don't feed the family I'm just heartless! Guess I should explain... I'm single, work odd hours, and my kids are all adults. If anything they monitor what I eat. On a side note, I've also decided that kids should come with a pension plan. If you do an awesome job and they become productive adults, it seems only fitting we get some reward for a job well done? AND NO grandkids are NOT enough. I think it's only fair for a job well done. Sorry went off topic there just a little bit. My bad
  2. Thank you Gotto! I'll keep checking from my phone. Hopefully it won't take too long.
  3. Congrats Anissa! Get lots of rest this week and I'm sure you be up and running in no time. BTW, I've been taking my vits whole since about a week after surgery with no problems. I just take one at a time. My multi looks like a horse pill. I'm sure after I'm filled I'll have to look at other options. I also had a hernia repair during my surgery. Didn't even know I had a hernia. I'm sure burping in fairly normal but if your concerned I would call the doc. There no such thing as a stupid question. Drink looks of fluids, take long naps, and be kind to yourself. gentle hugs, j~
  4. Banded 4/2 and not having any issues. Can't wait for my first fill! I also make a choice to only focus on the good comments and positive results. When I do this, it's easy for me to stay on track. No bread for me
  5. I've been using Muscle Milk I got at Costco. Huge jug for $32 and I use my little bullet to mix it up. Haven't got sick of it yet.
  6. I'm not sure what this password thing is. I didn't put a password on this group. All are welcome but I've heard some people have a hard time joining the room and I can't get into here from my phone either. Not sure what's up with that. Maybe write the admin for the forum?
  7. Mike, It sounds like your doing great. I think we need those little reminders that we've been banded. I ate too fast once at work and got a good kick in the butt for it. Also, I put on some weight as soon as I started eating solids and have been struggling with losing ever since. I'm not too concerned about it now as I've read on here that this phase is referred to lapband hell. We have the band but with no restriction we're not losing much. I've been up and down 2 or 3 lbs since I started solids. I think I expected too much loss too soon. I'm SO ready for my first fill. I'm still focused on what I'm eating and slowing down, so I feel I'm on the right path. Sounds like your doing great! Just keep swimmin
  8. No reason to cry unless it's happy tears. Just remember this is going to be a slow process but it's all uphill from here on out. You'll do GREAT! Keep us posted. hugs, j~
  9. Yes Deb I understand and I'm glad you shared it. Our surgeries, weight, and eating are all consuming right now so I think it's pretty normal for our issues with eating to invade out dreams as well. I think it's good your open to the message hugs~
  10. That's good. I enjoyed being able to just lay around the week after surgery. Think it helped me heal quicker.
  11. I would enjoy seeing more photos of our members. Can't wait to put my AFTER photos up!
  12. I've already been in the pool. Wasn't thrilled about putting on a suit but it was HOT!
  13. Working is a good thing, once your physically ready for it. Gets your mind off your worries and back into dealing with day to day reality. I was the same way but it was good for me to not be focused on my band or food. One thing I am noticing is I'm not as concerned about food now as much as I was before I decided to get banded. Like I planned my day around when I was going to eat and what I was going to have. That's probably a good thing, right? Enjoy your day Deb. Nice of you to take someone's shift on your week off. Hope your also taking some time AFTER your surgery.
  14. Thanks for the info. I haven't lost much either so hearing it's normal helps!
  15. I don't feel much restriction but I did have one experience which reminded me I had the band. It's not an experience I want to repeat. I think your following the guide lines and that's why you aren't feeling restriction. The post op diet is to allow the band to heal in place so it won't slip. I've only lost 5.5 lbs so far but I know after my fill I'll start losing. Remember we are all different but have the same long term goal. Glad to hear your doing so well Mike. Keep posting, sharing, and paying it forward.
  16. I was able to have 2 shakes and a no carb meal a day. If your following the plan and really worried about it I would call your doc and talk to them. Dont' be afraid to express yourself. I'm sure your not the first person this has happened with. I wasn't overly concern about the weight loss as much as I was about eating non fat foods and when it came time to weigh in on my surgery day they didn't seem to care much. I seriously hope my body has gone into a self protection mode right now. I've only lost 5.5 lbs since my surgery. I lose a lb and gain it back. Yo Yo'ing with 2 to 3 lbs is frustrating but everything I read says this is normal. Doesn't seem normal to me to not lose when I'm eating so little. but I'm a pretty strong willed woman and I WILL win! My body won't hold onto this fat forever! Stay focused!
  17. I love sushi and have had it since I was banded. Only difference now is I broke apart any of the rolls I had. enjoy your yummy dinner
  18. I feel it if I bend over wrong and the waist band of jeans cuts into my port. I'm sure it will go away or we'll learn to adjust around it.
  19. we need a little clapper Smiley!
  20. That's awesome! Congrats on your progress and will power to stay on track.
  21. I forgot, they found a Hiatia hernia during my surgery as well. Fixed me up and sent me on my way. I know some ppl suffer bad from heartburn but I haven't at it once since the surgery. Wonder if it's from getting that fixed. Either way, nice they took care of it and did it for free too.
  22. Deb I'm so excited for you!
  23. Welcome to the group Mendy! Please keep sharing and there isn't a silly question in this group. Looking forward to getting to know you better, julie~
