Any Zonie's Getting Banded In April
Oh how exciting. Keep me posted and I would try again with the Springers group. I know the site has been acting funny for many. Maybe just a hick up and they fixed it. Shouldn't be a problem.

Day 5 Post Op
My oldest son made a huge pot of chili this weekend. Just down right cruel if you ask me, but I did ok. It was more about smelling it cook than anything else. I know it's odd to have chili this time of year but I never know what to expect from my kids. I think they are going to keep me on my toes. Sipping my protein shake as I type. j~

Keep up the good work Mike. Your worth it. I admire your determination to swim as much as you do. I've been horrible at exercise. My downfall I guess. I'm sure you'll do great. j~

Weighing Daily, Gaining Weight, And Eating Easter Candy
Ya I would take a few days. I too have had ups and downs like dhales. I went back and did a few clients on Sat. and yesterday (Sun) was a sleepy day for me. Not sure why just tired and dozed on and off all day. The pain isn't unbearable, more uncomfortable but it is surgery! I'm had surgery after child birth to repair damage and a tubal. I recovered quickly from those but this one feels more internal. Like the core muscles of your body have been moved around and they aren't real happy about it. Right now, exactly one week after surgery the only pain I have is slightly sore muscles and port pain. My incisions are itchy so I know they are healing and all but the port site is almost gone. The port incision is the largest one, about 1 1/2 inch long and I'm thinking another week. One thing I have noticed is when I eat, the port pushes out some. Like you feel full HIGH in your stomach instead of in your belly. I think as the food filters into my lower tummy the port goes back in place. Sorry it's hard to explain how it feels. This is a life changing surgery, Why not take a few days out of the life and recover, adjust, and relax? You deserve it!

Got My Surgery Date!
Congrats on your date Pretty. You'll do great but it is an emotional roller coaster and I'm just letting the emotions come as they will. I was banded last Monday and had one day where I found myself depressed with no outlet. I had no food to turn to. I just went for a drive and thought about how I was feeling and how before surgery I would have gone to the first fast food place and eaten my emotions away. This time I had to have a little "come to Jesus" talk with myself. "come to Jesus" talks are what I refer to getting real with myself or whoever I need to deal with. Anyway, for me, it helps looking at my emotions and feeling them, not suppressing them. Sorry I'm rambling again. Congrats on your date! It's going to be a great year for many of us and I'm gong to enjoy the ride. Glad your here j~

Jumped Thru All The Insurance Hoops - Now Just Waiting
Ok so I'm probably NOT the best one on here to be giving advice, but I wouldn't beat yourself up too much about eating those last meals. I sure as heck did! Yes I did Taco Bell, McD's, steak, Mexican food, ... I could go on and on. Good thing I was self pay and didn't have to wait too long because I was using my "up coming" surgery to basically eat like a cow. Now, I was very concerned about the liver thing and not losing enough weight prior to surgery and I'm pretty sure they are a bit more lax about self payers (funny how loudly cash speaks) but I enjoyed my lasts. NOW, I'm post op and wondering why I ate like that. Ok, maybe quantity? Was I overly concerned about never being able to eat a whole steak, or a whole box of Mac & Cheese? Oh my, Shells n' Cheese was one of my all time favs! I know someday, after I heal, I'm going to have a bite or two of steak. I'm going to eat Taco Bell again, I just won't be able to order 4 or 5 items. Maybe I'll have a cup of refried beans with a bit of cheese and hot sauce. That's why I went with the band. I know I won't be eating as much as (quantity) I was before, but I will be tasting different foods (quality) to find out what I can tolerate and I WILL have to learn I can't eat the whole enchilada, but I wont' have to deprive myself of the taste. Ok, I'm rambling now. Sorry but I feel where you are right now and I just wanted to share.

Honey I'm Home :)
Ok so exactly how long will I have this extended tummy? I seriously look preggers! NO BUENO! Each day I'm getting better. Still careful with my movements. If I move wrong, the port reminds me it's there. Have a lite day at work tomorrow which is a good thing. Will get me back into my world and get me focused on something other than food. One day at a time folks! Lady, (or anyone else for that matter) I just figured out MFP and please me: julzinariz

Weighing Daily, Gaining Weight, And Eating Easter Candy
I've been having trouble too. Have to hit "more reply options" instead of just the post tab. Not sure why. I honestly don't think I could do a mile right now. Yes, I'm post-op but I didn't do a mile before surgery. I'm my own worst enemy when it comes to exercise. Keep positive Eliz. We'll all get there.

Appendix Ruptured And Surgery Is Postponed
I'm sorry to hear about your appendix but aren't you glad it happened BEFORE your Lap Band? Better to happen now and heal, than have complications later, right? Wishing you a speedy recovery Eliz! Now I don't remember anyone setting defined rules for being a "Springer." I think it's more a state of mind for me and everyone else in here. OF COURSE, you will remain here. I, for one, value your friendship and would be disappointed if I didn't see your posts! Get well soon Ladybug! Your banding will happened when it's supposed to! hugs, j~

Honey I'm Home :)
If you mean coming back into the States from Mexico. YES! The driver for Dr. Ortiz has a system in place to get you across as quickly as possible. Took us less than an hour to get across. I go to Mexico quit a bit and have to say it was a breeze. I've spent hours sitting in line before and wasn't looking forward to it but they had us across quickly. It was awesome. I had a 6 hr drive home to Phx and that wasn't too bad either. Just rested. Getting better each day. thank you

Honey I'm Home :)
Thank you all. Yes my tummy sounds like it's grown a very loud baby. Growling all the time. I've never heard such a ruckus coming from my own tummy. Today I'm hungry. Not sure why other than I just have the desire to taste food. However, following Dr's orders. My biggest fear right now is blowing the band and causing it to slip before it heals into place. I've never be able to do a fast in my entire life so going 4 days without anything but clear liquids is quite an accomplishment for me. Still a little sore, but each day gets better. As of this morning I was up 2 lbs since my surgery but I'm sure that's water weight and will drop quickly when I get rid of all the excess gas and water. I do find I'm having a hard time staying focused on things. Like simple chores, doing paper work, answering emails and so on. Maybe lack of food? Glad I took off a few days. I will get on MFP and will let everyone know my user name soon. Thank you again for all the support I get from our group. Ya'll are awesome! j~

Honey I'm Home :)
I used Dr. Ortiz and honestly can't say one bad thing about my entire experience in Mexico. Everyone from the driver to the nurses were top notch! Thanks for the info on the belly fat & bloating. I'm not going out anywhere for a few days so I'm not real worried about looking like a blob.
