  1. Hi Band-Tastic <<great name Jump over to the "Springers" group and join there. We combined March April & May into one group so we would have more to share. If you have any problems finding us, let me know. julz~
  2. Totally understand Elizabeth. I knew there would be a few ppl who didn't wish to watch it. I watched those birthing videos too and that completely freaked me out, but I still had 3 children so I wasn't too worried about watching this one.
  3. yes it would! I just bought a 5 lbs tub of my protein
  4. I'm to do a 2 wk diet of 2 Protein Shakes and a no carb dinner. chicken, fish, or veggies. They want me to lose 10 lbs before my surgery date and I'm already down 6 lbs. without really working too hard at it. HOWEVER, that has been my pattern for the last 8 yrs. Lose 5, gain 6, ~ lose 3, gain 5, ~ lose 8, gain 12..... Ya, do the math and it's been a steady gain for years of struggling. So, I'll lose the 10 as required and can't wait to NOT put back on it back on this time! I'm also stocking up on supplies for after my surgery. Tomatoe soup from costco, butternut squash & carrot soup, my Protein, will start buying yogurt in the next few weeks and mashed potatoes. I think I'm going to start bagging up things in 4 oz containers or ziplocks so I have it handy. My sister had bypass (lost 125lbs) and suggested re-fried Beans with cheese. I love Mexican food so that could be a real treat for me. I'm off to go shopping, julz~
  5. WELCOME EVERYONE! Our group is exploding with people from all over the country! Love it!
  6. Ok, so as many of you know I am scheduled to have my surgery on April 2nd in Mexico. I'm self pay and have no issues going into Mexico. I'm having Dr. Ortiz @ Obesity Control Center preform my surgery and they have sent me link to watch webinars. I found a video of the surgery I will be having. While it's NOT easy to watch and not everyone wants or should to see something like this, I thought I would share it for those of you who might. I thought it was pretty cool and feel better about it now knowing exactly what will be done.
  7. Me too Glove but I know in my heart everything will be ok! NOT easy, but ok! julz~
  8. I'm so glad GLove is here. She's a great source of information. Thank you Glove! j~

  14. Hi! I'm getting banded April 2, 2012 in Mexico and looking for local friends who want to make a connection on here. Anyone? j~
  15. I'm set for April 2nd. I've been mentally preparing, researching and stocking up on soups and such. VERY excited! Springers is a very supportive group and always looking for new friends. DebraG I like your ticker counting days! I think I need one of those! j~
  16. lol this reminds me of a quote I heard once......... sorta crude but funny too. If you have one foot in yesterday and one foot in tomorrow what other choice do you have but to pee on your day? Right now I think I'm making myself too busy running forward to give it much thought anymore which BTW is my biggest fear. I dont' deal well in gray (indecision), so I make quick decisions and don't always think it through as much as I should. HOWEVER, somehow I always seems to land on my feet. I'm blessed and humble, Julie
  17. 26 days and counting We will ALL do fine!!! j~
  18. That's awesome to hear! Thanks for sharing. I'm still on for April 2nd! julie
  19. That's AWESOME Deb! The reality of all of this is starting to settle in now and I'm looking for more and more information. Sharing this with all of you has been my best resource. Feel like I have a ton of reliable friends I can turn to. Congrats! j~
  20. (((((((((((((((Deb)))))))))))))) << that would be a cyber hug Deb! Hope things are calming down a bit for you.
  21. I don't consider myself normal. If I was, I would be able to control my eating. The more I read on here the more I understand the Lap-Band being a tool for which I will learn to use. Maybe he is just scared for you?
  22. Thanks for sharing Teri!
  23. I am not telling anyone right now, which isn't easy for me either. I'm normally an open book. Not because I fear the embarrassment of failure but I fear them passing judgment on me taking the easy way out. I hear this even from my children, "you could lose your weight if you only..." I just don't need that type of support. I've given this lots of thought and right now I don't feel it's necessary to tell everyone. IF after my surgery, when I start losing the weight and getting ask lots of questions, I may change my mind but for now I'm keeping it to myself. If you think about it, there a tons of things we don't share with those around us. Why? Because it's none of their business. How much did you pay for your house? How much do you make each year? Who did you vote for in the last election? When did you have sex last? The list goes on and on. These are personal questions most people avoid. My lap band surgery is just as personal and I'll share it with when I'm ready. j~
