    A Bit Frustrated...

I'm glad to hear that they have at least gotten it. My paperwork was supposed to be sent in on May 2nd and as of today, Aetna has not recieved it. I can't really get a straight answer from my doctor's office other than we sent it. Hope you get approval soon.
  2. It would be more convenient to have it done at the surgery center in Richardson, but since I have aetna, I will have to have my surgery done at Trophy Club by Dr. Fox.

    Getting Smaller In Texas

Just found this group. I am in the Dallas area and working through True Results in Richardson. I have one more visit and then they will submit to insurance. Hopefully I will be banded by the end of May. To those already banded, sounds like you are doing great and to those of us still on the journey, good luck!

    Waiting For Lap Band Surgery

I am also hoping for May, I have one more visit to complete my 3 months of visits. So last time I was in they scheduled my last visit May 2nd and they said they would submit that afternoon and I should hear something that week or the following week. Hoping for a really quick response and to have my surgery the week before Memorial Day.

    Anyone Have Aetna?

My requirements since I have no comobidities were to participate in an organized multidisciplinary surgical preparatory regimen of at least three months (90 days) duration meeting all of the following criteria, in order to improve surgical outcomes, reduce the potential for surgical complications, and establish the member's ability to comply with post-operative medical care and dietary restrictions: Behavior modification program supervised by qualified professional; and Consultation with a dietician or nutritionist; and Documentation in the medical record of the member's participation in the multidisciplinary surgical preparatory regimen at each visit.; and Exercise regimen (unless contraindicated) to improve pulmonary reserve prior to surgery, supervised by exercise therapist or other qualified professional; and Program must have a substantial face-to-face component (must not be entirely delivered remotely); and Reduced-calorie diet program supervised by dietician or nutritionist. I also had to have a psychological evauluation and have documentation from my PCP or OB/GYN the presence of severe obesity that has persisted for at least the last 2 years.

    Anyone Have Aetna?

I have Aetna Open Access, and they cover WLS. I am on my last month of a 3 month diet plan, so I haven't actually been approved yet, but my insurance coordinator at True Results keeps telling me it will be approved easily.
  19. Wow, That is wonderful. I have my last appointment on May 2nd which they will then submit to my insurance. I am thinking that will be the worse part. Having to wait to see if they approve. Congrats on getting the approval. Soon you will be banded.
  20. I am really interested in this as well. I have had 2 c-sections and a knee surgery, and I can't remember having to have them removed? I'll do what I need to though. Any one else know something about this?
  21. I just found this site and think it is absolutely wonderful. I am not completely unfamilar with the Band. My husband was banded 3 years ago on the 14th. I have seen him drop over 100 pounds and have done things like the liquid diet, etc. to be supportive of him. The only problem was, once we weren't doing liquids, I would gain all of my weight back and then some. I went to my first appointment on January 2nd. I have Aetna, so we have 3 more visits left before we can get approval and set a surgery date. This has actually been a blessing, because I needed to have a sleep study done, and found out that I do have mild sleep apnea. That explains some of the fatigue I have been expereincing the last couple of years. I have a target surgery date set for June 1. I am excited and really motivated by the posts that I have read. Thanks

    Paper Work Submitted..now The Wait

    Wishing you a speedy approval.
  24. I have been to my original consult and they seem to really know what they are doing. I have Aetna, so they have given me my "road map" to what needs to happen over the next 3-4 months, including Psych eval, EKG, blood work, Nurtionist, etc... Has anyone else been through this with True Results in Dallas and more specifically, had Dr Fox as their surgeon? Thanks
