Good morning, Violets.. I'm back from the hospital and watching Ethan. He's coloring on his new rainbow paper and playing with the Leap Frog Leap Pad I got him at a garage sale. No going outside today. It's 46 out and raining and dreary. Yuck. I took a couple of pasties out of the freezer for dinner today. I have a meeting at the church at 5:30. It's the first ever Board meeting I've attended in 25 years. Things are starting to implode with the pastor and since I have a flute rehearsal at the church, I figured I could go to the meeting and see what was happening. The pastor is just not a right match for our church. We're slowing dying and it's because of him. Ethan and I just looked outside at two mallard ducks in our front yard. Now what does that tell you about our weather??? Great weather... for ducks!! Off to figure out some lunch! bbl...

Good morning, Violets. I'm up early to get dressed before Ethan arrives so I can get to my hospital shift early. Bob has a meeting this morning, so I need to get all my stuff done so I can watch Ethan while he's gone. The furnace is on. It's 49 degrees out.. brrrrrrrr The high today is only supposed to get to 55. No swimming in the pool unless I get really brave. Everyone have a good day. Be good to yourselves.

Good evening, Violets. It was a lazy day today. I went to church and then came home and had some KFC grilled chicken which I promptly PB'd. I took a 2 hour nap and then we went to Walmart and picked up a couple of new seats for the boat. I'm tired of lawn chairs in the back. Now we'll have swivel seats and I can face backwards if I want to. We met up with Kris, Nathan and Grady at his parents house. Visited for a few minutes and now we're home. No pool or biking today. It was just too darn cold. It didn't get out of the 50's today. I have my hospital shift, Ethan and then a church meeting and flute rehearsal tomorrow. It was nice just to relax today. I get sun poisoning every year and since I've been in the pool in the sun, I have it already. It's an allergic reaction to the sun and I break out in a rash like poison ivy. Really itchy and uncomfortable. So I guess it was better for me not to be outside today. I rub on the calamine lotion and hope it clears up in a few days. Jane.. hope you feel better soon!!! Good morning, Violets.. Wow.. last to post yesterday and first to post today! Everyone must be busy. I'm up and ready for church. I weighed in today and have lost a pound so I'm on the right track. My goal this summer is to finally get to goal or at least have it within reach more so than right now. I know the pool and the trike are going to help and the band has been keeping me aware of portion size for sure. I just have to keep the sweets out of sight, out of mind. Time for me to get dressed for church. Everyone have a good day. It's a rainy, dreary one here today. I don't foresee any pool or triking time, but it's good to rest for one day, at least.

Good evening, Violets. It was a busy day today. Kris and I went garage sale-ing and Nathan watched Grady. We got some cute things including a purple dragon Halloween costume. Purple is Kris's favorite color and dragon is what they called Grady before he was born. I got a few things for Ethan too so it was a profitable time. Kris and I went out to lunch. I had some Russian soup and almond chicken. I didn't eat any of the rice, only one crab rangoon and just picked at the meal. We came home and I jumped in the pool and did my exercises before Kris and Nathan left to go golfing with Bob. I got to watch Grady while they were gone. He was a terror!! He screamed and screamed and screamed. I just kept walking him and rocking him and singing to him and finally he settled down and fell asleep. He slept for 2 hours so it was a pretty easy babysitting time. We went out to dinner and I had 4 coconut shrimp. I got a salad with the shrimp, but couldn't eat it. Nathan got to finish that plus one of my shrimp. It's been a very good eating day. No sweets at all. I did another round in the pool when we got home. There was steam coming from the water since the air temp is 53! It was a quick dash from the pool to the house. Heather, hope all is going well with your new little Violet angel. Can't wait to see more pictures. I'm going to head to bed in a little bit. Have to be up early for church in the morning. Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well.

Here is a recipe I got today from my lapband doctor's office. I haven't tried it, but it sure sounds good. Turkey-Broccoli Salad with Grapes 1/3 cup white balsamic vinegar 2 T. olive oil 2 tsp. sugar 1 12 -oz. package shredded broccoli (broccoli slaw mix) 1 pound cooked turkey breast shredded 1 1/2 cups seedless red grapes, halved 1 cup coarsely shredded carrot 1/4 cup sliced almonds, toasted 1. For vinaigrette: In a screw-top jar, combine vinegar, oil, sugar, and 1/8 tsp. salt. Cover and shake well. Set aside 2. In a very large bowl, combine shredded broccoli, turkey, grapes and carrot. Add dressing: toss to coat. Serve immediately or cover and chill up to 24 hours. Sprinkle with almonds and 1/8 tsp. black pepper just before serving.

I am ALWAYS for eating out! Laura... you guys have restaurants in Alabama, right?? :tt2: I think if we each do our own thing for Breakfast and lunch and eat out for dinner, I'll be a happy camper.

Good afternoon, Violets.. I'm in from my first round of exercises in the pool. It was awesome. Have I mentioned that I LOVE being in the pool?? I'm headed to the beauty salon for a hair cut and eyebrow wax. Don't know what she'll do with my hair today. I'm ready for a change... not color wise, just style wise. When I get back home, I'll hop in the pool again and then fix supper and then go biking. I seem to be in an exercise stupor lately! But I feel great and am doing very well on the eating. I'm respecting the pouch, Tracy!!! BBL..

I doubt we'll hear anything until they get home. I'm so anxious to hear how they are. A new little Violet!! I slept a longgggggggg time last night. From 11 -9 this morning. Guess it was the two pool times and biking that did me in. I'm just about ready to go hit the pool this morning. The only thing I have today is a hair appointment at 2:45. I have some petunias to plant and some garden knick knacks to put out that were put away for the winter. We took care of the side yard yesterday with the final raking and burning. No Ethan today so I can get a lot done. He will be here on Monday only next week. The rest of the time he'll be at the new day care. He loves it there, thank goodness. He needs the interaction with other kids his age. It's going to be 78 here today so I need to get out and get things done. Everyone have a great day!
