  1. Good Morning, Violets!! Happy Birthday, Suzie!! I've got my dress packed. I'm going to use it as my swimsuit cover up. Got my new purse packed with lots of stuff so I don't have to worry about a carry on. I'll just have one checked bag. I leave today at 3:30 for a flute gig. It's 2 hours away and then 3 hours to the hotel after that. It's going to be a long day. Tracy.. my friend Kathy had hip replacement surgery on a Wednesday and she was in church for choir on the following Sunday. It's amazing what they can do now. She's doing very, very well and just traveled 4 hours one way to get her band refilled. She's going to be 66 in a month and between the band and her hip replacement, she's got a whole new lease on life. And definitely up your water intake to help with constipation. My daughter swears by Miralax. I always used Benefiber, but thankfully haven't had to resort to anything in a very long time. As long as I keep my water intake up and stay away from chocolate milk (I don't have a clue), I'm good to go, so to speak. I better get off here and get things done on my list. I'll see some of you in just about 24 hours and the rest of you online. Everyone have a great week!! Be good to yourselves.
  2. My bags are packed, I'm ready to gooooooooo.... Ok, only one bag, but it's packed!! We leave at 3:30 so I can play my flute gig at 7:00 Then a 3 hour drive to Grand Rapids to the hotel. I fly out at 7:30 Thurs. morning!!! See you gals in just a few hours!!!
  3. Ahem... I'm 62 in 26 minutes. 62-45= 17. Don't mess with the Kdg. teacher!!!

  11. We finally made it to the hotel. The weather was terrible coming down here. Lots of rain and lightning. The whole sky would light up. Off to sleep and up early to check out and get to the meeting. Everyone sleep well!!
  12. There was never any doubt!!
  13. Back from Kris's and my Grady fix. Now off to sing 3 songs with my acapella group and then heading out for a 4 hour drive to the hotel. I'm taking the lap top, but not sure if I'll be awake enough to use it. Everyone have a good evening. PamELa...I'M SO PROUD OF YOU, DOC.!! I remember when the Bobster got his thesis published. It's a great feeling, isn't it?
  14. HAHA.. I think you mean lost "shaker of salt". Leave it to the pastor's wife to know the lyrics..
  15. Wonder what we'll all be doing a week from today?? hmmmmmmm
  16. Good morning, Violets.. I'm up early so I can get my hospital shift in and then go get some Grady time. Looks dreary out again. Guess it's supposed to rain this afternoon. No pool time, but I'll get some when we go to Mackinaw on Sunday for our anniversary. Lunasa.. there was no support group near me so I started one. I put an ad in the paper inviting anyone who had had or was interested in having lap band surgery to come to the meeting and lo and behold I got lots of calls and we've been meeting for over a year now. We average 10 people per meeting and we discuss success, failure, recipes, exercise, whatever helps us. I have some say that they NEED the support group, so I'm really glad I started it. We meet once a month for an hour. I'm off to get dressed and get started on my day. Everyone have a good one. Be good to yourselves. BBL
  17. 7 Days till the Violet Reunion Bandiversary Bash and 1st ever Violet Baby Shower!
  18. Laura, I really liked the 5 day pouch test. Loved the soups and it put my mind back in the game each time I did it. Hope it does the trick for you. Beautiful day here today. I got some pool time and did my first packing for the trip. Now I can take things out and put things back for the next 7 days. I'm going to work another hospital shift tomorrow and then head to Kris's for the day. I have a singing gig in the evening and then we're headed for a 4 hour drive to a hotel so we can be at a church meeting all day Saturday. Everyone have a good evening. Sleep well.
  19. Laura.. Grady is definitely ROUND! I can't believe his crankles on his legs AND his wrists. And remember his daddy is 6'11" tall, so we're expecting a tall boy. He eats all the time and is getting rice cereal in his bottle twice a day. He looks different every time I see him. I'm so glad we live close.
  20. Good morning, Violets.. The sun is finally shining and it's supposed to be nice today. It was dreary and rainy all day yesterday so I got no pool time at all. Hope to change that today. We were supposed to go to Kris's for the day, but Bob changed his golf lesson to today because of the rain yesterday and he has a dentist appointment this morning so I'll stay home and get some things done around here before we leave Friday for a meeting. We'll be back on Saturday night and then leave Sunday morning for Mackinaw for two days for our anniversary. Then back and leaving again on Wednesday for a flute gig and then flying out Thursday morning. Yikes.. it's coming up fast!!! Lunasa...the only thing I can suggest for you is to find a support group near you. The issues we all deal with are head hunger related. I know when I reach for the sweets, I'm not hungry, it's just that fat person inside me that says I really could use that cake or candy or ice cream. That's my downfall. I've upped the exercise and that helps, but it's a constant struggle to listen to my band and not my evil, fat voice. Laura.. I think I got the height number wrong for Grady. I'm going to call Kris today and verify. I know he's really tall, but he is a dough boy for sure. He's wearing 6-9 month clothes and he's three months old. He was here yesterday and is so alert. I love watching him watch everything. He loves the Baby Einstein videos and anything that lights up and makes a noise. He's smiling a lot more and "talking" more often too. What fun!! I'm off to find breakfast and get dressed for the day. I need to think about packing for the anniversary trip and the Alabama trip. Woo hooo!! Everyone have a great day. BBL Ok.. just called Kris. Grady was 17# and 25" at his last check up which was a month ago.
  21. 8 Days till the Violet Reunion Bandiversary Bash and 1st ever Violet Baby Shower! :blushing:
  22. Good morning, Violets.. A dreary day here. Looks like rain.. no sun. blah. I was hoping to get my pool exercises in before my flute rehearsal at 2 and senior citizen gig at 4, but no luck. Maybe I can do it after the gig if it's not raining. It's only 58 degrees right now. Summer in Northern Michigan. Tracy...are you still taking the diet pills?? Are they helping?? I put on a pair of pants today that I bought long ago and they finally fit. They are a 14 with a zipper front. I usually wear a 16 if it's a zipper and 10 or 12 if it's all elastic. Go figger. But I'm comfortable in the 14's today so the exercising is helping a lot. I'm going to go through pool withdrawal when we're in Alabama, but I'll try and make up with the paddleboat. Hope Heather is doing ok. Strange not to hear from her in so long. Laura.. what size is Carson into now?? Grady is into 6-9 month in some things. When he went for his last check up he was making his own chart! lol He's 17# and 24". He loves to stand up in my lap and is soooo strong. He smile a lot now and Kris has started putting rice cereal in his evening and morning bottle. He went for a boat ride last night and was a Mr. Cranky pants. He does have his spells, but for the most part he's pretty happy. Off to finish my tuna/soy nuts/mandarin oranges and then curl my hair for the day. Everyone make it a good one!
  23. 9 Days till the Violet Reunion Bandiversary Bash and 1st ever Violet Baby Shower!
  24. I ain't no diva. Now shaddup and kiss my ring.
  25. Good morning, Violets.. The site wouldn't load for me last night. :bored: Glad to see it's back to normal this morning. Another lazy day here today. Kris comes at 11 to take her car in to have a problem fixed. I'll follow her in and bring her back here to wait till it's done. I'm going swimming again today. The sun is shining and it's 54 here. I had the a/c running in the bedroom last night. The bedrooms are upstairs and it gets warm up there. I can't open one window because the cat can push the screen out and the other window has the a/c in it. So when it gets stuffy, on goes the a/c. When I got up this morning, Bob had turned the heat up so I immediately turned it off. I can't see having both the a/c and furnace running!!! It's supposed to get to 78 today so will be a beautiful day. The only thing I have is a rehearsal this evening for a couple of hours. My yorkies are sitting in the sun right now getting solar powered. I better get going and get dressed for the day. Hope everyone is good to themselves today!
