    Aussie before and/or After pics

Sorry I haven't been around for awhile, but thanks for all the lovely comments:smile: LOL at Insubordination re: my fat butt. Hey, it's still there, but at least it's no longer THERE!!! Amy, I haven't done too badly with the loose skin. I do think that doing weights & toning up has helped. I could do with a little tuck to the upper arms & stomach, & my inner thighs & butt are a little southbound too, but at 40, I didn't expect my skin to spring back so well. I can live with it. My face has aged a bit which I wasn't too impressed about (those face pics are only 1 year apart) I think the fat was plumping out the wrinkles lol CCW & Nikki, you both look gorgeous! Oh, & I can relate to the 'still feeling like the fat girl' comment. Blocka, congrats on the band, & looking forward to seeing your progress! I just had my first 'refill' after about 9 weeks without. I had 5ml, but definately need more. I was at 6.9 when I was unfilled. I struggled a bit, & ended up putting on 5kg in that time. Looking forward to the home stretch of my journey!
  3. Hi Susan, Apparently there is an 'anti-vomiting' injection you can get from the dr/hospital, & I would strongly recommend getting it if you are vomiting. I was banded in January this year, & a couple of months ago I had a vomiting virus. I was too sick to even remember about the injection. 5 weeks ago I had agonising pain after a visit to a new gym. It turned out to be a band slip - I spent a few days in hospital, & had my band totally unfilled. I don't start getting fill back until mid-January. I'm lucky my band didn't have to be removed or replaced. My surgeon thinks that the vomiting started the slip, & working on new/different weights equipment at the gym completed it. I'm a bit frustrated, as I feel the same (hunger levels) as pre-band. I had perfect restriction & had worked hard this year to shed 50kg (110#), & only had 22# to go to 'ideal' weight. Now I'm sruggling a little, & basically starting the fill thing over again. Wish i'd remembered the vomiting injection advice!
  4. Everybody is looking fabulous! This has always been my favourite inspiration thread :-) Time for my new update! I'm 50kg (110#) down since banding on January 31, & have around 25# to go

Everyone is doing so well, & looking fabulous!!! I was banded on January 31, have lost 50kg so far, with 10-15kg to go. I had a band slip 5 weeks ago, & am completely unfilled until mid-January. I'm suprised that I have managed to pretty much maintain my loss (as I feel the same as pre-band), & am hovering between 80-82kg.

    Anyone in Sydney?/

Good for you Jen! It's the absolute best decision I've ever made for my health (& all the other great stuff that goes with it - new body, confidence, clothes etc) So happy for you that your dh is supportive! When I hit rock bottom last Christmas, & told my dh how unhappy & depressed I was over my weight, he was the one who actually suggested looking into lap-banding. I did my research online, & here I am this Christmas - 50kg down, close to goal, & dh getting a little 'jealous' when I get looks from other guys LOL:D Good luck on your journey:)
  7. Everyone is looking GORGEOUS!!! Well done!:clap2: Time to update again. I had my band on Jan 31 this year, & I've taken pics every 2 months. I've lost 99lb now (45kg), & am aiming to lose another 33 (15kg)

What should my next fill be?

BTW, I currently have 6.5ml in my 10ml band. My Dr starts with a 4.5ml fill, then adds 0.5 each fill afterwards.

What should my next fill be?

I have a 10ml band, & 1ml can make a huge difference. I had an overfill on my first fill (couldn't swallow saliva), & had 0.5ml removed. That put me at 'not much' restriction. After monthly fills of 0.5ml, I reached my sweet spot a couple of months ago. Just this week the restriction has slacked off a bit, & I'm going to ask for a top-up of just 0.3ml. I think even 0.5 would be too much at this stage!

    Another Newbie

Hey all, I haven't posted in a while, so thought I'd drop in & say hi! Still loving my band. I've lost 33kg now, & have 27 to go. Hoping I'll make it by the end of the year:)
  11. Gallbladder removal surgery leaves very similar scars, & is a similar recovery.
  12. Hi all, I'm an Aussie bandit. Now that I'm 4 months post-op, I'm posting my first progress pics. First is pre-op in January at pre-banding weight of 130kg (286lb), next is 2 moths post-op at 112kg (246 lb), last is my current pic at 4 months post-op - weight is 103kg (226 lb). Please don't look at the bad haircut! I love this thread - there's so much inspiration here! Fiona

    Goanna's back - and banded!!

I've added a couple more details about the AP band on your linked thread Anna.

    AP Bandits

I also have an AP band (10ml) I'll add a couple of details too: The balloon is pleated to 'grip' the stomach better. The balloon goes all the way around the inner surface of the band, rather than missing a piece at the locking mechanism. The balloon is wider. A sideview of the band shows balloon protruding top & bottom rather than sitting flush. I'm guessing that these improvements would help with slippage & erosion.
