I'm having my surgery on March 6th. I was so overwhelmed with stressing about getting approved by the insurance company I have had not much time to think about anything else.... now that I'm a few weeks away from being banded I'm worried I will fail the band. That I will go back to my old ways , that I won't have the will power? I know deep down I won't. I know this is it and I'm going to make it work but I'm still stressing about this.. Anyone else?? also YAY US!!! I can't friggin wait!! I'm 38, 230 , female with three kids... God I need this!!~

congrats!! I got approved on Monday and scheduled for March 6th!!! YAY!!!

I have not been banded yet. I have my surgery on March 6th at Community Medical Center in Toms River. I work there so everything was just convenient for me to do it there. I had all my meetings , blood-work, test, etc done there before work. As you can see I'm thinking of all the things I should have NOW.... Next week I start my liquid and Tuesday the 6th is B-day! I can't wait. I just called my husband and told him we need to go out for dinner and apps of clams before next week!

B52, I'm in Jackson , nj we are almost neighbors. As you can see I'm not far from the beach so i like my summer nights over at Point Pleasant or LBI.

fried would be heaven but it would have been on a half shell on ice. I will miss this. I know it sounds odd but I think this will be the biggest thing I miss.... I loved going out to dinner and having a few oysters and calms on the shell with a few drinks.. Better then Pasta or burgers for me!

I'm having lapband surgery on March 6th I want to go food shipping before hand but have no idea what I need. Can you please tell me some of your healthy meals that you enjoy. I'm sure this has been done before but for the newbies it would be much appreciated. Please post some of your favorite meals..

So last night I was in bed thinking for the 1st time in a long time this will be a great summer for me ( I'm getting banded on March 6th) I was thinking about summer nights eating oysters and clams then it dawned on me......... I can't eat ( swallow) oysters or calms right?? WOW, I did't think I would miss much but I do love my raw seafood . I know its a small price to pay but when I think summer I think corona's and oysters! :0

just because someone is wonderful, funny , smart everything you want if your not attracted to them because there thin, over weight, bald whatever your just not attracted. You can't force yourself to be attracted to people. My friends think the guy from twilight is the hottest guy on each, I could not date him if you paid me. Its all about what you like...

now that some of you are almost 6 weeks out how are you all doing?? I'm getting banding March6h and worried about what to eat and how will I know when I'm full, etc.. I'm just wondering how the newly but not too new banded people are doing? Does it all just "click" that this is not the right size, or can't eat this too much, etc? How much have you all lost so far and how is adjusting to new foods going? also what have you found to be a life saver so far? THanks all!

Hi all. I'm March 7th I can't wait!! I start my liquid diet two weeks before which would be the 22nd. I'm so excited yet nervous since I want this to work so bad....

my policy holder is New York District council of carpenters as well. My husband is a carptner in New York City Local.

I have Empire BCBS and I was approved in minutes over the phone today!! My drs office told me she called them to let them know she was sending over paperwork and she said they asked her a few questions and approved her over the phone!! She said she was even shocked!!!!.... I just could not believe it and I called BCBS myself today and they said the same thing its approved and covered 100% My surgery date is March 6th. Empire BCBS rocks!! To add I have a bmi of 41 and no other issues.. I started this process Jan 21

ugh, the waiting games stinks but Friday is only a few days not months or weeks so hang in there!! Good luck!!

My drs office told me once someone got denied because they did't send in a form the ins company wanted. It can be something so simple. She also told me that if this happens to me she won't appeal it becuase that takes up to 30 days she will just tell the ins company to cxl the claim and resumitt what was missing so you need to have your dr office find out and maybe it will move things along for you! Good luck. I just got approved today from BCBS over the phone within minutes with a bmi of 40 and no co/morbs . good luck!

good luck! I actually read about your port on another thread but did't realize it was you. We are pretty much alike. I'm 5'2 230 and three boys 8,6 and 4. I feel the same way. They all play sports and karate and I want to be able to go there and run with them and cheer them on with the engery I should have. I want to be able to run around the house with them without losing my breath! Good luck on the port and your fill ... So it is true the 1st 6 weeks until I get a fill I will feel the same as I do now?? How scary?? I'm still decideding what my last meal will be how sick is that??

I'm not sure I don't even have surgery until on the 6th of March but I was wondering how long you been banded and how much did you lose up until your 1st fill. I'm worried I wont' lose a thing!!

Even the secretary kept saying are you sure??? I had to call them to double check I was denial it was so fast and YES , its approved!! I can't believe it!! I'm on cloud 9! APPROVED, APPROVED!! I'm still in shock.... My drs office called EMPIRE BCBS today to let me know she was submitting my paper work, she told me they asked her a few questions and approved her over the phone in minutes!!! I'm still in shock! I was so shocked and in dienail that I had to call BCBS myself and they said YES, its approved! 100% .. I love Empire BCBS - Thanks you! I have a BMI of 41 and nothing else I totally assumed it was going to be a long journey for me but it was not. I'm so greatful. My surgery date is March 6th. I started my Journey on Jan 21! This is so unreal! Thank you everyone for your support and feedback over the last two weeks with all my approval questions!~ LIFE IS GOOD and ONLY GOING TO GET BETTER!!

s since you had your surgery in Dec how are you doing now? Almost two months out? From your profile pic you look great. I'm 38 , 225, 5"2 and can't wait to live life again. !

Yup its true!! I had to call the ins company to find out for myself and YES!! They did approve it! I LOVE EMPIRE BCBS !!! March 6th is my surgery date!!!
