I am also learning not to eat while in the car. It does not make for pretty post-food activities. I'm so glad we are all still posting, especially as we close in on our one year anniversaries. I may have to go in for a slight unfill again. The sinus drainage or something is really stopping me up. I do have great news though! This morning, I reached my primary goal of 100 pounds gone! I can't tell you what an awesome, exciting feeling that is! And somehow, I managed to do it while still eating junk like mini candy bars and potato chips. Probably because I wind up PB'ing on the chips 30 minutes after eating them. lol. I just want to encourage you to keep going, keep moving, keep posting. Even when there's a bad day...don't give up....just remember that tomorrow is another day, another chance. Love to you all!

Hi all! Sorry I haven't posted in a few days! We r getting to a busy time of year. I'm just gonna touch on a couple of things here...first...alcohol. Lol on all these posts! I must say...i no longer drink...that was until black Friday. I hadn't had any alcohol on almost 2 years, but we were out with friends so I thought I'd have one with the DH. I had may 3 sips of it and was already buzzed like crazy. Good thing the food came so I couldn't drink. I finally gave the rest to the DH. Lol. Congrats to all of us...even if we're not doing so great. Look how far we've come!! I'm now at 98 lbs gone. Yay! I don't post yesterday so I will now for the Monday weigh in...164! I hope you all have a blessed day!

I know this is going to sound strange, but I am thrilled. I saw my surgeon today and didn't get a fill! He says that my eight pound loss in the six weeks since my last unfill is perfect. Remember, I'm a lot further out from surgery than you guys but I'm still not at my goal weight either...
He wanted to know what I was doing differently and I told him that I am journaling RELIGIOUSLY on my fitness pal and that I have found a good, positive support group here on LBT.
Can I tell you all how refreshing your thread is? You ladies have such welcoming spirits and have made me feel part of something uplifting instead of bogged down in the pettiness that I was finding elsewhere.
I raise up to all of you here a huge "THANK YOU" of gratitude.

Hi all! Great job over T-giving everyone.seems we all had our challenges, but we handled them relatively well. Yay us! I am worried about Meredith too! I'm going to see if I have her address somewhere. Does anyone know if being dehydrated would cause the band to tighten up?

Hi all- I did well on Thanksgiving, didn't eat a lot, ate slowly and really chewed and didn't get stuck. Had a little pie at dessert, not a lot (we do an Iron Chef competition with the little kids, they each make a pudding pie and we "judge" them- they love it!). Have done well with leftovers- had mashed potatoes and gravy with a little turkey, yummy! Still not kicked the ice cream habit though- really struggling with giving that up- it's a true addiction!
Didn't do any shopping at all, maybe will do some Cyber Monday stuff, we'll see
Today is another day. I hardly slept at all last night, but still have my exercise stuff here- to guilt myself into working out! I won't be able to work out at work on Wednesday or Thursday, so I'll have to figure something else out at home, but that's okay.
Hope everyone is doing well- I wish Meredith would check in, worried about her, haven't heard since the storm and she's right on the Jersey Shore...

I survived the eating frenzy too. I was lucky because we ate our dinner at a restaurant instead of sitting at home overeating.
It was a bittersweet day though. First Thanksgiving since my much loved father in law passed away in April... Realized how much of a void his passing has left in the family. He was always one of my biggest supporters in my weight loss journey and I wish he could see me today at the lowest weight that I have been in many, many years.
I did enjoy the meal and had some pie, but got in a good swim at the hotel pool last night with my kids so hopefully i burned up a few calories.

I survived thanksgiving thanks to the band. I felt full pretty quick so I barely touch what little I took. I did have some pumpkin pie minus the crust. Then I went to the amazing gym at the hotel and did a full hr workout!! I hope everyone is enjoying Black Friday. A good day to get new skinnier clothes at a deal!!

Happy Monday everyone! I'm holding @ 168...just 6 more stubborn pounds to my primary goal of 100 lbs. Survived the 5k yesterday...ran about 1/2 of it...shaved about 7 minutes off last year's time. Not worried about Thanksgiving. I know what I can & cannot eat.plus my mom had gastric bypass a couple of years ago so she knows what to make..lol. I will not deny myself of a taste of something I really want though.

Sorry I haven't checked in until now. Its increasingly harder to do so during the day. JDI & NJ2NC...glad to know you all are okay. Hope your family is okay NJ. I haven't been getting email notices about your posts so I thought everyone was being quiet..lol. I don't know whose idea it was to post weights but...cool! I'll try to remember to do that tomorrow. I have also been go thru a time of not logging food & eating stuff I shouldn't. Have checkup on Tues. so maybe I will get a fill.

JDI...arent you & NJ2NC in NC?? Did you get hit with any of this? Let's pray...Lord, we thank You for the friends we have made on this WLS journey we are on. We also thank you for this tool and the success we have had since our surgeries. Father, we pray that our sister Meredith is ok, as we haven't heard from her. We pray that You have a hedge of protection and comfort around her & her family. Lord, we lift up this prayer for all of those affected by the storm. Bring them the kind of peace that can only come from You & may You be glorified in their lives right now. In the precious name of Jesus we ask these things.Amen.

Hello All, I decided to get another fill haven't had 1 since Aug 7th. I only lost 5lbs since Aug7th but funny my clothes are fitting better and better. I needed an emegency pair of sweatpants..got caught in the rain needed to run an errand and didn't want to go wet...so ran into Target to find a pair of sweats so I grabbed a pair of 12-14 eye'ing them only thinking "Lord, I hope they fit"..purchased, ran to the bathroom they fit with room to spare! I was so happy I double checked the size and everything!!
So I'll stop worrying about th scale. A few weeks ago, My friend told me to go to NY and Co because they were having a pants sale..I looked at her and said "girl I can't fit anything in there" she laughed and said "you don't look in the mirror very often, I bet you can NOW GO!" I still haven't but that was a great comment to hear! I've really gotta get Lane Bryant off my 1st place to stop and look for deals. I purchased pants awhile ago from LB's 14's and now they are all a little baggy. Next time I'm ready to shop I'm going anywhere but Lane Bryant and Ashley Stewart! it's all the coupons that keep me drawn! I guess I better start signing up at other stores now. OK I'm rambling. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I'll be starting solids today wish me luck! If I bite smaller I'll be ok I think.

Nicki try liquids for a few days and see if it will shrink back. I have hear of them doing an unfill one day. Let your stomach settle then fill you back up. I would defiantly call your doctor if the liquid diet doesn't help. Good luck!!

JDI....yes you can stretch your pouch. I think I have done that, in addition to the band relaxing somewhat. I've gone from being able to eat only a 1/2 c of food to a cup before...within just a few weeks of having a fill. And...on the ice cream note...I tried some Health Choice vanilla bean Greek frozen yogurt over the weekend. Yum!
NJ2NC: If I already posted this...I apologize. i did do another 5k just 2 or 3 months after surgery, then did a 2 mile walk the next day for March of Dimes. My next 5k is about four weeks away and I've already walked the route on my lunch hour one day last week. I'm looking forward to it. Keep it up...you'll be calling yourself a "runner" in no time.
Nicole 1: My doctor has told me to do the same thing...pretty much since the day of my surgery. Its tough to do sometimes....but I do try to cut my food into very small pieces. Someone gave me a great idea of using a baby spoon and fork to eat with. It might look silly, but it does help to take smaller bites. i found a shrimp fork at a store called Old Time Pottery...and its perfect!

hey NJ2NC! go for that November 5k! You can do it! To answer your question, yes. My first was last November and I walked most of it. I thought I was going to die by the end of it. But I turned around and did another one in March (and actually jogged a little of it)...yep...less than two months after my LB surgery (does anyone else think its funny that the lap band abbreviation is the same as for "pound"? LOL). The next day, after that 2nd 5k, I did a two mile walk for March of Dimes. I haven't become a runner yet (and don't really plan to, LOL) but I don't mind a good long walk somewhere. I wanted to our local town's 5k Booby Bolt this morning. I love that name, and you can probably guess that its to raise money for breast cancer research & treatment. however, I didn't have the registration money until yesterday so I didn't get up this morning to be there for the 7a registration. I plan to do it next year though. My mom is a BC survivor and I want to do it for her. I'm hoping i can get her to walk it with me. Next month is the Mayor's 5k Challenge..2nd annual. Its the one I did last year. This past Thursday, I went out to walk on my lunch hour. I just decided I was going to see how far i could get on the route for that walk. I walked all but 2-tenths of a mile! I'm so ready to do that one again this year! I never thought I'd be saying that. on top of that, when I got on the scale this morning, I've lost a couple more pounds, putting me at 90 total! Yay! I've only got 10 more til my 100 pound goal! I'm trying to do that by 10/25 which would be my 9 month bandiversary. So...liquids, Protein Shakes and extra exercise...here i come! I did buy some unflavored Unjury powder yesterday to put in Soup and my SF hawaiian punch drinks. I couldn't taste it my Tomato Soup last night. However, in my diet Snapple half tea/half lemonade, my tea had a milk color to it and it tasted kinda medicine-y. I wondered though if putting it in my blender to mix it, somehow changed the profile of it and gave it that taste. I'm going to get one of those shaker cups with the mixing ball in it and see if that helps. Sorry for rambling again...just so excited. Come on and share some victories Ladies. I don't care if they are scale, NSV, emotional, physical...whatever. let's just share. Have a truly blessed day everyone!

ok a while ago I said everytime the scale don't want to move and I come and post about it seem to make the scale move lol, This morning 3lbs less!! maybe its the fact that I'm talking about it, in my mind I know what the problem is then I must unconsciously fix the problem haha.
Thanks for being supportive! JDI said it best.. "I know a big part of my success is having people I can talk to who are going through the same thing.."
I love reading about the accomplishments, ups, downs and struggles and no judgements!
    BTW, I think I'll try another 5k November 10th!

oh my goodness...I've got a lot of posts to catch up on.
Otaknam...hang in there...it could just be Water retention or something like that. Plus, depends on time of you day you go in as well. I weigh first thing in the morning and always hate going to the doctor in the afternoon because I always weigh more. I hope things are going better since your post about going to the doctor.
JDI....you shouldn't deprive yourself if you are really craving the ice cream...but as with all things....we have to practice moderation. Its still hard for me to get used to that. I'm hurting right now because I had 1/4 cup too much chili...when I should have just stopped spooning it into the bowl...but I LOVE chili! so i understand. It really is a mind game with ourselves! Oh and I hope DD is okay from the accident. Oh and have you tried Frozen greek yogurt? i havent but i've heard others say its really good.
Ready: Yay on the Onderland! That's awesome! Careful with that heartburn. If you haven't already, check with your doctor about that.
Meredith: Thank you! Yes...I'm okay with the sizes as long as the clothes look decent on me. congrats on breaking that plateau too! Keep it up, you can do it!
Ladybandito...I'm with you! I'm trying for 162. so close yet so far away. would love to have it gone by my 9 month bandiversary in exactly two weeks but I doubt that will happen. oh well.
Horsegirl...keep it up girl! I like the idea of a recipe swap! let's do it.
NJ2NC...congrats on that 5k! I did my first one last november and yours is about 10 minutes faster than my time. Its a great accomplishment so make sure you Celebrate that! And remember, sometimes our reward is not on the scale but in how our clothes fit and how others see us. Take those compliments and those better fitting clothes and use them to get you through the days where the scale doesn't tell you anything new.
ValAnn-great NSV! I haven't flown in forever...but I'm sure not worried about it now. You are so right. We've all come so far in these past 9 months...even the past year from when we (most likely) made the decision for WLS. I'm so happy I did this and thankful that God made a way for me to have it. I'm so thankful to have made all my new WLS friends too!
Sorry for the long post. Love you all and God bless you abundantly!

Hi everyone.....we are a BUSY group! But that's a good thing, right? We are all out living our lives...much thinner and dare I say happier than we were last year at this time?
The scale has really slowed down for me but I am trying to be ok with it. I am wearing size 14 Limited dress pants today so I feel pretty good about that. My goal is to be a size 8 or even 6 and I am still at 193 pounds. So I think in the long run it will be doable. Still doing Zumba, boot camp and walking/running whenever the opportunity presents itself.
I just have to think that without the band I would have gained weight this summer and would not be feeling this good about me.
Flew down to Atlanta last week to see my oldest son and it was the first flight since surgery. How awesome was it to have no worries about fitting in the seat and as a bonus, my seat belt had a tail
    First time EVER for that!
    Have a great Monday everyone!

Hi ladies! Checking in quickly, will go into more detail a little later...but I am alive! I've been busy with my horses and working out, enjoying he beautiful weather...and counting calories! Lol! It's paying off and I am finally close to ONEDERLAND! I have 7-8 pounds to go til I'm there, but have passed my plateau between 217-220, and I couldn't be happier! I look forward to working out on my elliptical! Because now it's working! I love my band! I have lost almost 60 lbs and surpassed my surgeons expectations. Most of all, I know that I may screw up along the way, but I will always have my band here to help me get back on track. Now that we are in the cool crisp fall season, I was wondering it anyone has some recipes? I love to cook especially during the fall and winter, and I think a recipe swap could be fun! I have a recipe for a really delicious chili if anyone is interested

Hi everyone! Every time I tried to log in over the weekend on my phone it just timed out...so here I am.
Chrissy- I'm with you, falling into some bad habits I need to get over. I was thinking yesterday in the shower that the "newness" has worn off, and now it's time to really claim this as my lifestyle. I'm NOT doing a diet, I'm doing a way I eat for the rest of my life.
Ladybandido- I thought that's what we were supposed to do with the band, keep in the green zone, which will change based on lost weight, as well as other factors. Hm. But glad you had a great doctor's visit!!
Amica- LOL on the skinny jeans! I haven't had any altitude changes to speak of, but I did ask my doc about flying as I'm hoping to go to France next year- she said to treat flying and the day after like I would a fill day- liquids- as the pressure changes can affect the band. Hope you feel better.
Ready!! Yay! You are so close! I'm self-sabotaging, so I'm not with you really anymore, but GOOD FOR YOU!!!!! How are things with DH?
As for me- really, ice cream I think is going to have to go. I ate SO MUCH of it over the weekend. It's like, once I start I just can't stop. I am trying to convince myself that it's either one or none- as in one bowl or none at all. We'll see, if I can follow that rule maybe I'll keep it. I will try one last week and see- or I will just have to get rid of all the ice cream. I ate so much I'm still full this morning and feel just sick- physically and mentally, ya know? Like, what's up? I know it's just a HUGE trigger food for me, so maybe I just need to get it out of my life....any ideas? Like, I ate more than 3000 calories of ice cream yesterday. Yep.
