  1. My doctor is in Nashville. I had 2-3 days of liquids and then i could TRY mushies. If that went okay, I could do 2-3 days of that and then TRY soft foods...and so on. my post-op diet went pretty quickly.
  2. I think I did that too. Part of it, I think, is all the air that is pumped into your abdomen...plus all that stuff in there is swollen from the doctor doing his/her work. I felt like the almost-fainting was due to my pain pills but I might not have been getting enough water.
  3. oops...its your pre-op that is on my birthday...will still say a prayer for all to go well and all questions to be answered.
  4. so true Waynef! I barely remember them taking me down for an x-ray afterward. I think I remember drinking the contrast but to be honest I'm not sure. lol. Natbug2011...blessings to you and congrats on your decision for the surgery. Your date is my birthday...so I'll remember and say a prayer for you that morning.
  5. Hi Sissy. Congratulations on your surgery. I was banded Jan. 25th and am down 40lbs. I agree with what Melinda in Florida said. This site has been a huge help! Blessings to you!
  6. cool! said a prayer for you!
  7. That's awesome! Congratulations on the loss...both of the pounds and the medications!
  8. JustDoIt...that's how I felt this morning. Only did a mile on the treadmill and only a few machines..BIDIA! Allergies are killin' me!
  9. Guy...thanks for posting that. I had not even thought about salt-intake affecting the band.
  10. my family history helped me also...things that my parents have/had that they considered hereditary: diabetes, high blood pressure, breast cancer, thyroid condition.
  11. JustDoIt and HorseGirl...thanks for the cheers. I'm looking forward to seeing what we've all accomplished by April 25th! HorseGirl...I noticed myself falling into some old habits as well and had to check myself! You can do this. Kymie...don't be too hard on yourself. Every loss is still a loss...you go girl!! Amica...My doc isn't particular on calories either but after I pushed him, he said around 1200. At the time, I weighed around 245. The nurse practioner has asked me to up my protein also to about 80 grams a day. I just started to have meat (or egg) at all my meals, snack on colby jack or cottage cheese and add a protein shake if I need it. doc never mentioned exact grams of fat/sugar so I don't count those. However, I am trying to be proactive on not eating fatty proteins and only natural sugars (ie fruit). You can cut your fat grams in your protein shake by using almond milk instead of 2%. I actually like my shakes better with the almond milk. God bless!
  12. Everyone is doing so great! I'm so proud of you all! I hit 40lbs lost yesterday! I've calculated that I've lost 2 sizes since surgery, 3 since I started the process of having the procedure. I'm so excited. I also have on 3 more lbs to go for my birthday goal of losing 43 by the time I turn 43. I think I can do that. Thank you all for being there and jumping on this short-term goal bandwagon with me. Just 2 1/2 more weeks...we got this! Have a great day everyone!
  13. that's awesome! Great job!
  14. wow! I wish my BC had been that fast. Still I suppose they worked fast enough. It all happened within a couple of months...from my first consultation to surgery date. Congratulations!
  15. I know what you mean...I haven't had that happen. However, before a fill, I'll be thinking "I wouldn't care if they fill it all the way...just so I won't eat." Then they get ya too tight and water is coming back up. not fun. hope they get it perfect for you this time!
  16. That is awesome Jenn1214!! I'm with yellowrose...I can't wait to be there also. So happy for you!
  17. JustDoIt...that's awesome! I wish I had some jeans that fit. lol. MissBee...glad to have you on board! Thanks for the birthday wishes and same to you! A friend of mine is a 4/22 baby as well. April is a good month!
  18. Yay! I have goal buddies! Nicole...I am having to be very conscious of my water as well!!! And I'm glad you are finding ways to destress before you get home! Good for you! Meredith...I can't wait to get to Onederland myself. Just 25 more pounds! We can do this!!
  19. Yay JustDoIt! Thanks for joining me. We gotta have that accountability, right?
  20. I've increased my water and it has gone away. I must've been dehydrated.
  21. Okay...I've set a new goal for myself. My birthday is on the 25th. I'll be 43. I've currently lost 38lbs. So.....my new short-term goal is to lose a total of 43 lbs by the time I turn 43. I can SO lose 5 lbs in the next 3 weeks. Who's with me?
  22. Ready2BFit...congratulations! So glad everything went well. It sounds like you've got a great doctor and support staff at his practice. These first few days might be a little tough...but hang in there. It will ease up and pretty soon it will seem like your surgery was forever ago. God bless!
  23. cbarreto...that's awesome! Blessings to you! Jepegurl...and to you as well! Those surgery dates will be here before you know it and we're all here to give you support. God bless!
  24. Otaknam...I agree with the others! Losing inches is still losing. I've been having similar results. Yes, I've lost pounds...but I can tell it more in the inches I've lost, how my clothes (and even my shoes!) feel, as well as how much I'm able to get done at the gym. 3 months ago, I was barely walking a mile on the treadmill...and that was a slow pace. Now I'm doing at least a mile and a half, at a higher pace and I've even started jogging about 1/3 of the time I'm on the treadmill...and I haven't passed out yet! LOL! Just keep up the good work and remember that you are doing something good for yourself!
  25. JustDoIt130...I got a fill of .8cc. I wanted the NP to go ahead and make it a whole cc but no. So...I'm now at 4.9 (why not at least make it an even 5.0, right?)..of a 10cc band. Definitely felt restriction last night after a cup of soup. I can only imagine what its going to feel like when I try to eat solid food in a couple of days. I did lose a couple more pounds. I'm down 38 now! Yay!
