  1. Congratulations! I can't wait until I get to that point
  2. anoooother thing, if you happen to get a rotisserie chicken that's a little on the dry side: dip it in greek yogurt. i mix some ground onion, green onions, dill, and lemon juice in mine and it tastes delicious. the yogurt helps the dry chicken moisten up a bit and then it doesn't cause issues. hope that helps!
  3. if you buy quality sandwich meat, i don't see a problem. try to get a brand that is all natural with no preservatives. also, laughing cow cheese has a cream cheese now (it's new and i JUST found it). so yummy! i like adding a slice of tomato to my roll-ups too
  4. Steph, I'll show you what powders I use when we get together. I LOVE them. i have a Protein shake every morning for Breakfast. I'm gonna pm you guys my number if I figure out how to do that on my phone.
  5. Also, I have a whole container of Body Fortress powder (chocolate) that I brought for pre-op, but I hated it. If anyone wants it, let me know. It's just collecting dust in my pantry. Haha
  6. I'm in Beaverton too! YAY@locals! We should all meet up. I could definitely use some friends offline that know what I'm talking about.
  7. I'm completely aware of how bad I looked prior to starting the weight loss journey. When people make this comment to me, I am genuinely happy to hear that the change is noticeable to others. Compliments are compliments in my book. Saying you look BETTER isn't necessarily saying you looked horrible before, just that there's a difference, and we all honestly know there is.
  8. Two days after surgery, I flew home and that was a 6 hour plane ride. I was fine. I also have a history of blood clots.
  9. Are there certain times of the day that you're having the problems? A lot of people have issues in the morning with bands being extra tight.
  10. I'm 3 months post-op, banded 3/27. Down about 50 pounds now! Sitting happy at 196. Loving onederland for sure. Haha. 2 fills, 5.4 in a 10cc band.
  11. Same. I chug water like nothing. Once you start getting fills and have a little restriction, you'll feel the water as it slides down. But right after surgery, it just drains through normally.
  12. Your question confuses me.... Are you asking if you'll have to get another fill equivalent to the fill you had when you reached the green zone? If so, no, you won't. The liquid that is in your band will stay in your band unless your doctor removes it or your band is leaking.. After your reach your green zone, if you need to get more, it'll be tiny adjustments as you lose weight. Say your sweet spot is at 6cc. When you need another fill as your restriction starts disappearing, you will get an adjustment of like 0.2cc or so, until you feel restriction again. But it won't be another 6cc.
  13. I use the Syntrax Nectar Natural line.. The peach is my favorite. They're made with Stevia so there are no artificial sweeteners in them. It's whey protein isolate, but I don't get any aftertaste with them. 23g protein, 90 cal, 0 carbs per scoop. I buy them online at supplementwarehouse.com. The strawberry mousse from the regular line (sweetened with Splenda) is amazing too. Hope that helps!
  14. I have 5 incisions and didn't get my tummy shaved.
  15. I thought this thread was stopped because the excel wasn't being created. Haha. I haven't been checking in.... Anyhow. ONDERLAND happened!!! As of 6/21. 199.8 that day. 198.0 today
  16. This is what people call "bandster hell" and as the above poster mentioned, you'll have to be white knuckling it 100%. I was staaaarving after surgery. All of the time. My surgeon said I wouldn't be hungry for a week or so after surgery, but the very next day, my tummy was screaming at me to eat something. It was weird. Water does help though. A lot of the time, you're not actually hungry, you just need water. I've noticed that if you hold your water in a larger container (I have a 56ounce bottle) you drink more. I drink two of those a day, and it seems so much easier filling that twice, rather than filling a water bottle 7 or 8 times.
  17. Location of the surgeon means absolutely nothing. Talented surgeons are not only located in the US, I promise you. If you do your homework and research your surgeon, you can find brilliant surgeons elsewhere. I had my surgery in Mexico with Dr. Ortiz and I've had excellent results. I go to San Diego every summer so he will be doing check ups as well. Anyway, location means nothing if you learn about who is cutting you open. The are horrible doctors here too.
  18. It definitely feels good to have the scale moving again. Maybe I'll be in onderland before june is over :-)
  19. I was down about 30 pounds at that point including preop. But I didn't lose much after my first fill of 4cc. I was pretty stalled but so happy I wasn't gaining. Got my second fill and finally can feel some restriction. I just hit my two month bandiversary and I'm down about 40 pounds.
  20. This is my first challenge! I've had one fill so far. My second fill is NEEDED badly. Haha. 21. I use it as the buns for my hamburger. Make sure you slice some skin off, like a zucchini. It's pretty tough and that makes it easier to chew.
  22. And my first fill is on Saturday! So exited.
  23. Portland here. Banded 3/27/12 by Dr Ortiz in Mexico. Down 33 lbs as of last Friday :-)
  24. Search online and you can find awesome deals. The manufacturer sells it for 60 and I bought mine for 30. I've never seen them in a store.
