I agree it's all about the dedication you put into working with the lapband. Once you have it the weight isn''t going to just fall off, it's learning and sticking to new eating habits, exercise, better food choices. There will be good days and bad.. its a lifelong journey, one you need to be prepared to make. I have had my band in since january and still don't have a fill and still losing weight., everyone is different, don't every compare yourself to anyone else. Good Luck

I know I had looked at that with my insurance before, unless it's medically neede (the removal) it would be out of pocket for me if I wanted to have it removed. There's days I do and then theres days I'm happy with my weight loss. Hubby said we'll see in a year how things are, who know's in ayear I won't even think about it anymore.
good luck!

I understand and have been where you are at, and it was hurtful at first, but then after dwelling on it, and looking at the problem, I figured out sometimes people treat us a certain way because that's how we treat ourselves. Don't worry about them, if you are feeling good about yourself stay feeling good, let it show!

Wow, I got banded in January 2012 too, I have had opportunities to get fills but in agreement with hubby who has been my rock we have opted not to get any fills yet. Losing the weight I have lost has been all me (with help from the lapband of course!) I get chest pains when I eat too fast or too big of bites. Not understanding, though, it said you had lapband removed, but you are going to have fill removed? so you still have it? I'd be interested in knowing what you find out, thank you!

don't let no one make you feel guilty, or that you made the wrong choice, we are the only ones that know what we feel, our health.

they are called bleeders,( thats what my dr calls them) my nose gets like that because my nose canals get so dry. it can be scary. I have a jar of pet jelly in my desk and at home to get nostrils moist. havent had surgery yet.

that's society, I know I've dealt with deliverymen who only looked at my hand when I signed his clipboard to now stopping to talk to me, asking general questions, when before they never had. It was upsetting for me, because I am the same person on the inside. At the time, because I was heavy I flirted alot because I knew they wouldnt really look at me, and it was true but now, I've stopped because it makes me feel uncomfortable the attention back. Eventually I'll be comfortable/confident at my new lower weights but it just seemed so blatant. We did what we did for ourselves, lets not let what anyone else says, acts or thinks stop our progresss.

You sound like me, we worry about everyone else but us. But everyone else has no problem taking off leaving office short. I too had md give me notice for 4 weeks but I was only offf for one week. Take time you feel YOU need. its different for everyone. and check with your doctor. He should back you up, and isn't there union with Walmart?

my daughter would get those when she was stressed and sometimes when she had flu, dr told her its body's reaction.

I was scheduled to have lapband in Nov2011, so dr gave me shakes (protein to drink two weeks prior) well instead of lapband I ended up with gallbladder surgery and it was rescheduled until January 2012, during that time I kept drinking shakes and I lost 26 lbs before having lapband. I was only drinking one a day sometimes two.

so sorry to hear you had such a hardtime. I totally agree that people are not being informed what "risks" actually are. I'm so glad for this site, I have learned so much here than from my own doctor. Some doctors are more approachable than others, but for the most part the information given to patients are limited. I'm so glad now that my lapband dr does a check on the gallbladder and if there are any problems gets the stones or takes out the gallbladder before he will do lapband. (which is what happened to me) I do have to wear pads because if sneeze or sometimes don't make it to bathroom fast enough, well you know.
I'm with you also in that my insurance is not covering all bills related to lapband. I called the billing office and was told that my insurance only pays so much and then the rest is out of pocket, I was totally unaware of that. As to having it removed unless it's medically necessary that would be out of pocket as well.
There's alot more to the lapband than helping you loose weight. I wish you the best!

because you've had no real food, once you start eating more solids it will happen. You can always ask your dr about supplements like Miralax or a Fiber.< /p>

I do and I'm rubbing my chest, trying to rub it out, sometimes it works, sometimes I do alittle pounding (not too much as I work in office)

I myself have nothing in lapband

as they say often, everyone's body is different, I know I was eating well, staying within the 1/2 cup but feeling full and with energy, this past week I was the same way take a few bites and the body wouldn't let me take anymore. I've done the same thing that I have let myself get hungry and I take a bite and honestly forget to chew. Been doing alot of Peanut Butter lately. And i might as well put a depends on as much as I go to the bathroom. If I don't drink enough Im in the bathroom, if I do drink all of water/liquids Im in the bathroom, (sigh) some of the things we have to get through.
You are not alone, and as many say, if you need to, start all over. better slower than fast.

During the first half or so of your weightloss your body can be in Ketosis and it can cause all sorts of body odor including vaginal. google it
oh, sorry, just looked back.....you say no odor?
it could be related to hairloss too. Is the hair on your head thinning?
I know mine is, and I had the itchiness, have I have a drawer full of creams. My friend went to md also and dr told her same thing, nothing they can really do.

I probably would have done the same thing, thinking sensation would go away, Good thinking on your friends part!
Will have to remember this!

that's aweful for medical staff to say stuff like that, they don't realize many times how their words affect patients, you have to be your own health advocate, and you can complain, they could of said it in a different way. contact hospital compliance officer. this is the person that makes sure everything is being done to standards.
