  1. I totally get what your saying. I just recently went under 200. The feeling is amazing:) I'm really excited to hear you are off your blood pressure meds after loosing part of your weight. I was just talking to my husband last night after my weigh in at the Bariatric Clinic. My BP used to be around 160/80's and 90's, sometimes even higher at times. That is one of the main reasons I decided to have this surgery, especially after being admitted a few years back with over 200 BP reading. All I could think was I am too young to die at 40 over something I could learn to control and now as of yesterday I showed 110/72. Hopefully now I can start to get off the two BP pills I take everyday, that would be awesome. Good Luck to you.

  2. So far, I am actually the opposit. For years when I was in my teens a hundred pounds soaking wet, I felt like I was fat all the time. Our minds have a way of playing tricks on us. Then in my 30's I started to just ignore the weight gain to the point my joints started to really bother me and I hated to go out with friends because I knew I had gained weight, but still never really did much to control and change it.

I guess I just got to a point where I didn't care like I used to, now after 40# down I get really excited that I can look good in a pair of jeans again even if in a few weeks or so, I have to shop again for a different size and I still have a ways to go. Thrift stores, Ebay and yard sales have been my friend lately to save money. Plus it helps that I have an awesome husband and friends that cheer me on.

Looking back at photos prior to surgery, I can't believe I let myself go like that. I think that is the hardest thing for me to see. Good luck on your journey, it will eventually sink in I'm sure.

  3. Feels great don't it:) I did that last week to. I really hated to get rid of all the clothes, because most of them were pretty new to start with. Pre-Surgery. But I also had kept alot of clothes around for years, thinking my weight would go up and down aNd I might need them. Good thing, because I have quite a few things I am now able to fit into from my smaller days. But the other stuff had to go to make room for the NEW.

Now I find myself bying a few things that are to small, knowing I will be in them by summer. Good Luck to you all:)

  4. Luv Luv Luv the video. Good job. I know how you feel. I had to wait til 4 pm. Spent all day at work at a desk thinking about food that I couldn't have and for some reason the guys here had to order pizza of all days. That is one of my personal deamons and I can't have it:(

  5. I am in week 2 of eating regular foods. My husband and I go out with friends a couple times a month if we can. Now that I have the Lap Band, I feel so self concious around everyone when we eat. My husband tries to pick places that should have a few things on the menu that I can eat, but this weekend we went to a Cajun place. I love Cajun food, problem is it can have lots of gravy and huge portions. While everyone ordered the good stuff, I had to order a cup of Gumbo. All though it was good, I could only eat part of it and left the bread alone. Somehow I just didn't feel the same enjoyment from it as I used to. Oh well.

We are going on vacation in 2 weeks to California. I rarely drink, but I was really looking forward to going to a couple local wineries, but now I am not so sure thats a good idea:( If I drink a little I can't eat. If I don't eat a little, it goes straight to my head.lol

Other than eating out that causes problems sometimes, I am glad I have the band and hopefully in a year I am close to my goal weight.
