how is this even possible
A big part of that could be water weight and swelling from surgery. Also keep in mind that liquids doesn't necessarily mean low calories. If you're drinking a lot of juice or other high sugar/high calorie liquids, those calories can add up very quickly.

Maintence Weight Calories
I would do as your nutritionist advises. She knows best.

Delicious Protein shake
I personally prefer Unjury protein shakes. I'm almost a year post op and I still have an Unjury Chocolate Splendor shake for breakfast every morning.

Gastritis????
Do you take NSAIDS regularly? Have you been drinking alcohol? Both can cause gastritis. If you don't know the cause of yours, I'd definitely see your surgeon, just to be sure it wasn't caused by a backup of bile from your band being out of place or too tight. Best wishes.

Silly Question but can I wear fake nails during surgery
Ask the hospital, because many anesthesiologists will say no fake nails or nail polish of any kind are allowed to be worn during surgery. The reason is, they watch your nails for signs of breathing distress while you're under. If they see your nail beds turning purple or blue, they know you need more oxygen. It's all part of the many little things and signs they use to be sure you're getting the best care.

I needed that....
You have absolutely nothing to apologize for. I mean, really, that's like saying "sorry for being human". If anything, I respect you greatly for having the courage not only to come on here and share your mistakes but for taking back control in your life to correct them. You're human, just like the rest of us. You messed up a bit but now you're back on track. You're going do to great, just stick to it

eating seems to be increasing
You're not supposed to be eating until you're full, only until you're satisfied. If you're eating until you're full then you're eating too much. The band isn't supposed to physically stop you from eating, either. This is exactly why it's so important to limit your meals to a cup or less of food, regardless of how much you can physically eat. The band is doing exactly what it's supposed to do, but you have to do your part too. Read this link, I think it may help: http://drsimpson.net/fills/Lap-band-eating/lap-band-not-restriction/lap-band-and-restriction.html

drinks detrimental on weight loss?
I think maybe you misunderstood your doctor. Diet soda is zero calories so it's not any calories at all. However, soda of any kind is carbonated. The majority of doctors forbid carbonation of any kind after Lap Band surgery because carbonation can lead to complications and slips. So, for that reason, normally soda is off limits after band surgery. Energy drinks are often very high in calories and sugar, so be careful with them. I'd go back and talk to your doctor again.

Help Plz!! :(
I would go back to the hospital. You're very newly banded but still more than a week post op. You should've had some improvement by now and should at least be able to sip water/liquids. The fact you're vomiting on Water is very dangerous, especially so soon after surgery, and the fact your surgeon's partner doesn't take this seriously is scary at best and opening their practice up for a malpractice suit at best. Right now your first and foremost concern should be hydration and you sound as though you're likely dehydrated again. Go back to the ER and get hydrated. Then, call your surgeon's partner and be a b*tch if you have to but demand that he does his job or you won't hesitate to legal action for any problems his neglect has caused. I am so very sorry you're going through this. What you're going through is horrible. Hang in there and don't give up on getting the care you deserve.

Fills Post-Green Zone and Encouragement
Mine says the same thing. Drink right up until the point I start to eat, then wait until 30 minutes after eating to drink again.

Struggling 1 month post op....
Good luck going forward on your journey. As far as what to eat now, stick to whatever your nutritionist advises. If you haven't seen one, make an appointment to meet with one as soon as you can.

Carb Cycling- An Experiment Gone Right!
I don't eat every 3 hours nor do I follow his exercises. I do the carb cycling itself, including eating within a half hour of waking and the cheat day, but I definitely have modified his program to fit my life.

Fills Post-Green Zone and Encouragement
Don't go by other people's experience. Everyone is different and everyone reaches the Green Zone at different levels in their band. It's all dependent not only on the size band you have but your individual anatomy. Forget about the numbers- it's irrelevant. All that matters is how you feel.

Fills Post-Green Zone and Encouragement
I wouldn't say Fluid seeps out every month, in fact, once you're in the green zone you can go many months without needing a fill. Over time the fluid does diminish but that's over considerable time. You had your surgery in early November, yes? It takes the majority of people multiple fills before they can feel a difference. Be patient, it'll come. Just be sure to continue to follow up with your surgeon. Best wishes.

pain and vomit day 3
I'm glad you called and will be praying the vomiting stops. Let us know how it goes.

pain and vomit day 3
Call your surgeon's office ASAP. If you can't reach them because of the holiday, go to the ER. Vomiting so soon after surgery is extremely dangerous. You need some anti-nausea meds immediately and the ER can give them to you.

No weight loss the week of my period.
Yes, in fact some even have a temporary gain when on their period. Keep in mind that hormones aside, plateaus are normal. You can go weeks without a loss, it's a normal part of the weight loss process. As long as you know you're eating the right things and burning more calories than you consume, any plateau you hit won't be permanent. You just have to be patient and see it through.

too tight or what?
Vomiting is never good with the band, bile or not. It can lead to slips so should be avoided at all costs- and definitely never self induced. As far as being too tight, if you're eating on the run, that could be a big part of your problem. When you eat, you need to actually sit down, take your time, and really be aware of what you're doing. If you're just mindlessly eating on the go, chances are good you're eating too fast and too big of a bite. Slowing down and concentrating on small, slow bites might help you considerably. Best wishes.

What if i dont want to diet?
It's a choice to deprive yourself, not a requirement. Personally, I am not dieting. I have changed my lifestyle and eating habits to healthy ones but deprivation is not part of that plan for me. I still eat pizza, but only one slice rather than a whole pie like I used to. In fact, I still eat whatever I want, just in moderation and within my daily calorie allowance. I also eat bread, Pasta, rice, and potatoes regularly. I don't do the whole low carb thing. Again, it's simply not realistic in my opinion to be low carb forever. The closest thing I do to dieting is I carb cycle when I'm trying to break a plateau or had a major cheat day I'm recovering from. But again, that's my choice not a requirement, and it's only temporary.
-
pizza substitute?
I don't have it often, maybe once every 3 or so months, but I still have a slice once in awhile. Granted this is my opinion, but I'm not on a diet I'm changing my lifestyle forever. Deprivation isn't part of it for me, so if I want a slice of pizza, I have it. I'm just careful to only have one and count the calories in my daily total.

If you had your first alcholic drink...
I was banded January 6th and just had my first alcoholic drink 3 weeks ago. It was a margarita.

Why am I always STUCK and PBing?!?!
You need to make an appointment with your surgeon to have your band position checked. If you haven't had a fill in months and are years post op, the symptoms you're describing could be from a slip. Granted it may be just fine and another reason entirely, but it's always best to check with your doctor immediately. If you do have a slip and catch it early, you may be able to fix it with a simple unfill for a couple weeks. If you let it go for months, the greater the risk of it getting worse. Best wishes to you.

Trouble with lettuce?
I eat a lot of salads and I've never had a problem.

Hold Up
I would strongly suggest setting up a meeting with a nutritionist. They can help you establish calorie and food guidelines specific to you and your needs.

Hold Up
If you're following your doctor's guidelines, then I don't understand what the problem is? Just follow your doctor's rules and you'll be fine.
