  1. I'm in Burleson. Definitely looking for local friends! I was sleeved Jan 3.
  2. I'm so frustrated with myself and disgusted with my body!! I know I'm not supposed to compare my journey with others, but I can't help myself. My sister in law had her surgery 6 weeks before I had mine. She is already below her goal. I am almost 7 months out and I am at a measley 56 lbs. I am so upset and frustrated that I can't even be around her at family get togethers any more because I feel like such a failure. I know I have to get back to working out (I got down on myself, and stopped working out about 3 weeks ago). I just want to cry. Granted, her BMI was MUCH higher than mine at the time of surgery, and I know that things move slower for those of us with lower BMIs. Before surgery, 56 lbs lost would have felt like a victory...so why does it feel like a massive failure after surgery? I really don't mean to come across as feeling sorry for myself, and I apologize if I do.
  3. I was sleeved Jan3.,I am down 54 lbs so far.I am at 209. Well, actually, i keep fluctuating between 209 and 212. I have been doing this for going on a month now. I am so close to Onederland I can taste it...yet my body refuses to cooperate!!! I am so frustrated that I just want to cry. I have already decided that if I don't break this stall over the weekend, i am going to do MissDiva's bootcamp starting Monday. I know we all experience stalls...I guess I'm just feeling sorry for myself!
  4. SleeveMe81...you already know how I feel about people and their gossipy ways...let em talk. Your business is your business, and NEVER let ANYONE make you feel bad for making the decision to better yourself and your life. You are better than that. And as for those people thinking that wls is "an easy way out" ...I believe it takes a very strong person to say, "I can't do this on my own...I need help." Just saying.
  5. June 20 is my bday, too!
  6. My surgeon (same as SleeveMe81's) suggested fish oil, zinc, and biotin daily. I didn't start to lose my hair until after surgery, but it has definitely slowed it down. If you started taking these before surgery, it might help with hair loss after surgery.
  7. I absolutely love the coco butter! I have been using it for years because 1.) It's super cheap, 2.) It makes my skin super soft, especially after I have been out in the sun and 3.) It smells sooooo good! I often don't even wear perfume because of the yummy coconutty smell! And thank you everyone!! I have my eyes on Onderland next!!
  8. I was sleeved on Jan 3, 2012. These pics are from the night before surgery and the day I hit 50 lbs lost. I still have around 50 lbs to goal, but so far, I am happy with my results!!
  9. As of this morning, I have met my first mini goal of 50 lbs!!! I am so excited!
  10. Hey everyone. I was sleeved on Jan 3. Sorry if the following is TMI, but yesterday I was feeling pretty yucky and I threw up once, and had diarrhea most of the day and night. I was able to get a little food down later in the day. I woke up several times in the night feeling nauseous, and had a few more bouts of diarrhea, and have been in the restroom a lot this morning. I am sure that I have a stomach bug of some sort, but since my tummy is feeling so bad, will it hurt me to skip my vitamins just for today? I am scared to have anything in my stomach but water and tea. Anyone else have post sleeve stomach virus experience?
  11. I was sleeved Jan 3. I am officially down 49 lbs. 50 lbs is my first mini goal, and it is so close that i can taste it. My frustration is that i woke up this morning and am 5 lbs up!!! WTH?? I have been vigilant in my diet,so nothing new there. I drink plenty of fluids to keep me hydrated. It is that time of the month, but 5 lbs?? Really?? Ugh! I am so discouraged!!
  12. I was sleeved on Jan 3, and I have no appetite, either. I start each morning with an atkins coffee shake and try to supplement my protein with chicken, fish, cheese, and beef throughout the day. But nothing tastes good. Right this moment, I am struggling to get through a half cup of homemade chicken salad....
  13. So, last night I walked a mile with my neighbor. In the past, I had been out of breath afterwards and so thankful that we were done. Last night, I wasn't winded at all and was actually ready to go for another mile! (The only reason I didn't was that I had to get my kids to bed.) Also, my hubby and I are starting the couch to 5k program on Monday. I am nervous because I have never been a runner, but I have a goal set to run a 5k in September! Wish me luck!
  14. I just sent you a friend request! (Stephanie Falls)
  15. I had surgery on Jan 3, 2012, so I am 3 1/2 months out. For two weeks now, I have not only been stalled at 46 lbs, but have even gone UP 2 lbs as of this last weekend. I know I messed up this past weekend because I had a few glasses of sangria...it was homemade, lower sugar sangria, but still...I feel so bloated and gross, just from those two lbs that I am up by. I am just really disappointed in myself. I do so well, and am so proud of how far I have become, but then I have a setback and it hits me so hard!
  16. I stopped drinking diet coke during my 6 month pre surgery phase. I used to easily go through almost a whole case a day...pop one open as soon as I finished the one before...however, now that i have switched to iced tea, the taste of diet coke makes me sick. It tastes so chemical like. Just the smell of it makes me nauseous!
  17. I loved it when, a few weeks after surgery, my 12 year old son told me I seemed "narrow-er" (his word, not mine). It made me feel good because he is going through that pre-teen phase where he thinks he is too cool for me. It was nice that he noticed.
  18. My doc says that these shots and others like them are junk because of the collagen in them.
  19. Just got out of the shower and for the first time in as long as I can remember, I was able to wrap my towel around myself, secure it (like a dress, kind of), and be completely covered!!! So stinkin' excited!!
  20. Cheetos earlier in the week. And taste tests of a pie I made for a family event this weekend.
  21. I have been doing so well, and then TOM came around along with the cravings...and I caved. I was craving something salty and crunchy...and I had some (probably more than I should have) cheetos. I am disgusted with myself for giving in!!
  22. I am 35 lbs down as of today, and i go through this everytime I wash my jeans. But isn't it awesome when they not only fit, but are too big??
  23. I went out to eat with my husband, my mother, and our kids on Friday night. I ordered shrimp cocktail and broiled tilapia. I knew I wasn't going to be able to eat it all and was going to bring moat of it hone with me for later or the next day. When I asked for a to go box, the waitress asked me if I was on a diet or something. I happily told her about my surgery, to which she responded, "well, good luck with THAT." It struck me as rude at that moment, but I just let it go. Some people aren't familiar with how it feels to struggle with their weight, I guess.
  24. I was sleeved on Jan 3, so I am almost 2 months out. Things have been going well, I am down 31 lbs. This weekend, I made a cake for my husband and my kids...however, I couldn't seem to stay out of it. A little nibble here, a little nibble there...next thing I know, I am vomiting and shaky and just feeling all around bad. I know it was the sugar that did it to me. I am disappointed in myself because I have been religious with following my diet. The lesson? I just can't have trigger foods in the house, period.
