I Just Got It Done Thursday

I think it was a good 2 weeks before it subsuded for me. My hunger cycle is weird. I tend to be hungry at work during the day and less in the evening. I am 6 weeks out and 30 lbs down. I use to be so hungry at night so I am glad that habit has changed. I am still not ready for real food that takes more work to digest like steak. It makes my stomach hurt and I feel like vomiting. I am sticking to soup mac n cheese, protein shakes and Luna Bars, and sugar free pudding. I have not taken my diabetes insulin or oral meds since my surgery!!! And my blood sugars are being pretty stable. I could be off them for good!
  2. Peanut butter bananas and milk with protein is really good!
  3. I go back to work Wed but not happy about it. I don't like my job right now. Physically I'm ready but like you I told people I was having a benign tumor removed. I want to be private. I have lost 2 inches on waist hips and thighs but only about 13 lbs. so not too noticeable yet!
  4. What about P90X i think it is called?

    How Much To Eat

My surgeon said 4-5oz but everyone is different. Depend how big they left your stomach. Mine is a 38 ( not sure if that's mm cm or what) but my dr says there is better success with a 38 vs 32 or 34. So that will depend on how much you eat. I put one scoop of protein powder in about a 10 oz water/ milk /banana. I takes me all day to drink it!
  6. Anytime! We all need the support of eachother here. This is hard and remember it will take time. You ate the way you did for your whole life so give yourself time to adjust. Just remember your goal and practice good behaviors now:)
  7. I'm 10 days post op and having a lot of head hunger. I'm rarely physically hungry even eating tiny bits. By eating foods before your stomach is ready could actually stretch your stomach and negate the surgery. You may not have symptoms like diarrhea or nausea yet if you are having a hard time adhering to the rules now just think about when you can eat real food. You want to start new behaviors and remember why you did this.
  8. This sounds like head hunger to me. I've had that to and you need to listen to the difference. I would not jump ahead from your liquid diet you do not want to disrupt staples and healing. Your stomach is not ready to digest that food even if your head is.

    Coughing!

Ps you talk about your throat. Mine still hurts bad more like my esophagus though. I actually have a large bump. Still painful. They must have scraped it good! Dr said he never saw that reaction before. Hurts to take deep breaths and swallow. Ouch. I'm 10 days out too.

    Coughing!

I'm sure you are fine. I hear you will know if you ripped a staple and contents from stomach are floating around abdomen. You get real real sick and have fever.
  11. That is great!!! I hope to be there soon. I am at 215! Good job and keep us posted.
  12. Good luck to those who do not have support... you will have it here! I am 10 days post op already . Cant wait to really see the progress. SO far lost about 5 or 7 pounds.
  13. Wow you walked forever! You look great and happy. Keep up ther great work
