    I had mine done on a Thursday. I could easily have gone back on Tuesday. Physically, I was ready. I was in no hurry to return, though - and opted to take some "me time", instead. I think that I feared I may fall into old habits too quickly. I took 2 weeks off. I used this time to focus on making life changes. I walked and walked and walked every chance I could. I spent tons of time on Pinterest - looking for healthy, high Protein foods. I also spent lots of time on this wonderful website. I just feel that it really allowed me to get into a positive mindset for this adventure. Down 62 since surgery 1-5-12! 87 since mid October when my journey began!

    You may very well be putting on muscle too from all the exercising so don't discredit that!

    I agree with @Elode. Exercise builds muscle. You may be replacing fat with muscle.
    But are you measuring and logging your food? Be certain that you are really keeping track of the actual calories consumed. Then maybe take a few weeks worth of logs and talk to a nutritionist.
    Also I have read that you should only raise your calories on days that you exercise the most, and reduce your calories on rest days.
    I hope you find a solution.

    With me, it was the opposite....the more calories I could burn per day as opposed to the my daily calorie intake, the better.
    3500 calories roughly equals 1 lb...so if you eat 1000 calories, to loose weight you must burn 1350 calories that day.
    In terms of one's metabolism, that is another issue....but I have always worked out first thing in the morning, around 5 am, on a empty stomach. Then had a high Protein recovery shake after my workout.
    This way I was burning stored fat as my source of energy, rather than recently eaten food.
    My workouts consist of running 3-5 miles, then doing weights.
    I'm also 63 years old.

    its true at least it is for me..
    if i take in more calories than i burn off (ate or drank 3500 calories is a pound whether is lean Protein, a Protein shake, french fries, or apples) then we will not lose and can gain..this is how i got super morbid obese...def measure your loss by clothes..if you are losing inches, you are losing actual weight..DEF feed your body with food/good calories vs empty calories...

    I have been working out 4-5 days a week and increased my calories on the days I work out. Normally I would only take in about 600-700 calories a day (4 1/2 months post op). On the days I work out, I increase it to about 1000 by adding 2 Protein shakes. It is still really hard for me to add the calories with actual food so the Protein Shakes work well. It also increase my Protein total on workout days to about 120 grams. This has worked pretty good for me.

    I definitely will try. I need to be diligent about logging, as well. I actually just started again this AM. Thanks for the advice.

    I have two names for mine. When it is in a good mood - it's Steve, the Sleeve. When it's grumbly, I refer to it as Grouch, the Pouch. (probably not the most original names.)

    I'm right about at the 3 month mark. I don't know how much I have lost - I haven't weighed myself in over 3 weeks. I only weighed myself 3 weeks ago because i just got back from a 3 week long trip and wanted to see where I was. I've gone down a couple car sizes, moved the steering wheel all the way down in the car, can sit in booths at restaurants more than comforably, haven't found a chair I don't fit in, feel great and have been eating well. Energy is growing, skin is clearing up, periods are seeming to be regulating (which is AMAZING) I know that since I've started my preop I'm down at least 60 lbs and that was January 18th. So yeah - I'm kicking ass. I would love to have lost more weight but I haven't really worked out much - but I'm cleared to do that starting monday and just had tv installed in the workout room in the basement so ZERO excuses!
    I have had zero complications - I have never thrown up. I only slimed once but that was because I sneezed and swallowed too big a bite once. I get my liquids in and eat 3 meals a day and 2 Snacks. I feel better than I have in YEARS. I haven't had an adrenal attack since before surgery - and that's amazing - I was having them about every 2 weeks or more frequent before. This has changed my life back to being worth living again

    I was sleeved on Jan. 5th. I still experience an extreme "full feeling" - especially after I eat Proteins like chicken, eggs or jerkey. Embrace it! I have become methodical with my eating habits. I find myself eating the same foods almost daily. Kashi Go Lean, egg whites w/ ff cheddar cheese and dill, chobani w/ Kashi, Jerky, Dal, and chicken tenderloins. I still don't feel "hunger" - per se. I feel empty - and that is typically my signal to drink more Water. I have found it quite easy to get in the recommended proteins and water daily. Until recently, I was having a difficult time getting in enough calories - because I was always so full. I am doing better now, and take in about 600-700 daily. I found that the easiest way to increase calories was to add nuts or an additional Protein Shake in the PM. (The problem with nuts is that I can eat them like there's no tomorrow! I definitely have to monitor my intake with them!). I'm on my 2nd stall. The first one lasted a little over 2 weeks - and now this one has lasted about 2. Frustrating, yes.... This too, shall pass, though. I am down 38 since being sleeved, 74 since I began this journey in October. I feel better than I have in years! I am soooo glad that I decided to do this. It is definitely a wonderful tool. This is probably more info than you were looking for. I kinda get to rambling. Sorry! Best of luck to you!

    Don't beat yourself up. I've heard way worse stories or confessions at WLS meetings I go to. Like melting chocolate bars and then drinking them. I'm not sleeved yet but I bet that thought will cross my mind after weeks of fluids only! I see some people on here chew and spit so you are deffinately not alone.
    Stay strong and the Fluid faze will be over soon

    So sorry to hear your news. I feel so bad that you are going through this. Be careful, call your doctor, and take care of yourself. I haven't used one, but people in my support groups talked about wearing a waist support to keep "held in" better - and to ease some of the internal pain. This make help you, since it such an emotional time right now. Take care.

    I want to go sledding with my kids (14 year old twins) - not just take pictures or hold extra gloves. I want to wait in line for a roller coaster ride without the fear of "struggling" to get myself belted in. (forget the shear embarrassment of having to have the attendant help me out!). I CAN'T WAIT to have a real "family picture taken. I have avoided cameras for as long as I can remember. I want to go to a sporting event and not "have" to sit in the nosebleed section because I want a backrest and I feel uncomfortable sitting in front of people. I really just want to become more of an active participant in my children's lives - not just an onlooker.

    If you click the "like" button for someone they get a reputation point. If you go to your profile you will see on the top right a number. For example, mine says 3 neutral so I haven't received very many "likes". LilMIssDiva and Tiffykins on the other hand, people who often have really good answers and input and post often have many likes and are in the category "reputation points leaders". You can actually see the leader board on the right side of the forums if you scroll down a bit.
