Hi! I am getting my first fill tomorrow too! I have not had a fill and my surgery was jan 19th. So I have been doing this all will power. There have been a lot of things I had been dealing with and for one reason or another it has been put off til now. My Dad died and that took a lot of energy to care for him, I really didnt have a minute to think about myself. So instead of setting myself up for failure, I put it off til now. I am not really nervous about pain, I am more worried about what kind of changes will happen once the band is tightened. Do you know how much fluid they are going to put in your band??? One year ago today I decided that if I wanted to get to see My Gramma years and meet any Grandchildren I am destined to have that I needed to lose weight or I wasn't going to get to meet them when ever it is they are born. There is so much I want to do with them and I have so much to teach them. I knew I had to make a conscience choice to take control of my weight/ health. So I started out on my weight loss journey. I have lost 46 pounds in a year. I had lap band surgery January 19th and I lost 29 pounds since then. The rest was pre-op. I am confident that this has gone the best way possible. My weight loss has been constant, but gradual. I think it is best to lose gradual. I am happy and looking forward to a great year! Happy Mother's day to all!!!

I know I can and I will get there! All I have to do is remind myself that I don't want any of the health issues. I am pretty independent and want to stay that way. Good luck and let me know when you get there! It will be soon!

I am actually trying to reach the 2 0 9 mark just to see that "0" in the middle will be good, but I am the same up and down! Onederland is going to be great and you are almost there!!! You are an inspiration! Thanks for sharing! We just need to keep our heads up and our feet in motion and we can do it!!! Best wishes!

That is sooooo awesome! You are an inspiration! Right now my goal is to see my weight in the 100's! I have 19 pounds to go. I did find a pair of pants I really liked they were a size 16. I now wear an 18 so I tried them on just for the heck of it and I got them on without a problem the just won't quite button, but I bought them anyways! I will be in them soon! Wow feels good i started at a size 24-26. Congratulations!

11 pounds! Good job! I still have not had a fill surgery was 1/19. My first fill will be on 1/17. I am sure that my Dr. will not be pleased. I have lost 21pounds since surgery, but surgery was 4 months ago. I think the 11 pounds is great! Don't let anyone dictate how you feel about your progress. It is only you that will find what drives you in this battle and if something makes you feel good about yourself (ie. lost 11 pounds) that is what will keep you going! Insist on the information. This is your journey...not theirs!

This might be water weight. Might just be the trauma to your body. Good luck and don't worry.

Thanks! It was scary and a wake up call to be mindful when i am eating. I think it has happened a couple time in the past week and yesterday it hit me like a ton of bricks. I am grateful that it happened actually it was a reality check.

I have not had an issue with hair loss since surgery, but I do know what it's like I had it happen with a medication I took once. It was horrifying for me. Biotin deifinitely helps...can't hurt.

I would also like to know if there is a Syracuse lap band support group outside of the city. Maybe there might be someone who might coordinate one. I went pre-op and now it is 3 months out and I could use a boost and support from others that live this!

Do you take biotin?

surgery was 1/19, no fill yet. I have to reboot while I wait for my band to be filled. This is hard I'm running on will power! Isn't that what got me in trouble in the first place!? lol Any suggestions on going on a liquid diet to get myself recharged for weight loss and back to a better frame of mind.

This journey has so far had many surprises and mostly all great experiences. From the people I meet to the friends around me that are all so supportive. It is definitely a journey. I believe my children are learning from this too. They see the good I am doing for myself and I know that they are happy for me. I think they like the idea I am taking care of myself now that they are a little older. They like to see me do things for me. I am so glad to be where I am at this point in my life....life is good! p.s. the above Title "Fitting in" is because I had a very supportive friend give me a pair of pajamas for Christmas that were wayyyyy to small,( she said she bought them really small so I could work toward fitting into them) but now I'm" fitting in" them just fine! This morning I got up and I stood in front of the scale, as I always do....looking down as I stepped onto it, (I believe I stop breathing each time as I wait for the numbers to appear) it said 219!!! I have waited to hit the point where I was in the "teens"!!! I thought there would be a happy dance, but instead I was in awe! I don't think I have come to yet! This is a big step in my journey for my mental part of this. I realize I can do this! What a great feeling! One number less and in overdrive with confidence! Hip Hip Hooray!

How have you been doing since your fill?

Don't weigh yourself at TOM. It just is plain depressing if you do! Just water weight anyhow! Congrats on onederland!!!

I am right there with you! Welcome to bandster hell! I had surgery on jan 19th and haven't had a fill yet! Hang in there! We will get there!

You are right where I am on the 2teens! What a glorious feeling to see the teens!!! I was so excited just feels like it puts you all that much closer to the onederful ones! Good luck and keep me posted! Riding a bike is a goal of mine! Was always afraid of having the tires not being strong enough! Maybe now I can do it too! Good luck!
