I haven't posted in a while but thought I would since I'm getting my first fill tomorrow. I'm so glad too because I can't stop eating! I was banded on 12/12/11 and I did really well until it came time to eat soft foods. Of course that came right after Christmas and everyone was bringing all their left over goodies. I told myself along with the evil goodie doo-ers that I didnt care and that I didnt want them. Well that was a lie! Whenever someone would walk away, I would go over and grab something. What the heck? I felt like a drug addict! I was hiding the fact that I was eating this stuff! Wow, I tried to blame it on my "time of the month" Then the guilt would come. That is some horrible guilt.
So... I'm glad that I'm going tomorrow for my fill. I feel like I have restriction at times but at other times, I can eat and eat and it doesn't affect me until hours later. It's weird. As of today I had lost 9lbs since the day I was banded. It goes up and down 3-4lbs a day, so time to stop weighing in and just do it when I go to my fill visits only. I thought it would be easier than this, but I guess I'm still trying to find what works for me and I know it takes time. I did fit into a size 14 pants today though! Nice and roomy! Plus everyone is saying how much thinner I look, it's some nice motivation, thats for sure :-)

before my first fill i could eat anything and thought how was i ever going to loose weight .well the fill really works and it is taking time to get use to .so far i have had a couple of problems with food getting stuck my brain still thinks i can eat what ever i want but the band lets me no other wise!! and have been sick a couple of times then i get a real pain in my shoulder has anyone else had this problem

Karrie88 I was banded yesterday 12/29 and have not experienced any negative effects either. I am hungry, but broth and such is helping. Good luck to all bandsters, especially December bandsters.

we did it. we have made a commitment to a better life to start out our new year with.. I was banded Dec 20. I started out at 214 preop and then the day of surgery I was 201. Today I am 195-196. I have GOT to get rid of the scales and only weigh weekly. They torture me. I have had no pain.. No nausea. No vomiting. And better yet.. I have made it through the holidays. First fill is not until Feb 2.. Going to start an exercise routine of walking in Jan hoping to help increase my weigh loss without the fill. How are yall doing???
