Personal Victories
I don't think I'll ever see my graduation weight 117# and size 5 prom dress. Three babies and 40 years later, things have shifted and changed. I'll still look dang good at 150#.

Woo Hoo I Felt It
Got my first fill yesterday 2cc in my 10cc band, guess my grits were a little too thick this morning. After about 10 bites the next one felt like it was sitting at the top of my throat, didn't yak but sure had a lot of PB's. This is restriction, right?

Nausea
Thanks brockbabe, will follow your advice.

Nausea
First fill about one hour ago, drank a cup of water after per doctors instruction. Feeling a little nauseous, is that normal? Will be on full liquids for 2 days then on mushies. :

Looking For Some Post-Surgery Advice
I wore my PJ bottoms and a t-shirt, no bra cause I didn't care, I wore a jacket anyway. Houseshoes with a hard sole and took a throw pillow (a small pillow of any type will work) to hold against your incisions when you have to start moving. Good Luck!

When Do You Usually Move To Phase Ii Foods
I left the hospital hungry even though I wasn't suppose to have an appetite. My doctor does clear liquids 2 days, full liquids 2 weeks, mushies 2 weeks. Be careful cause you are healing and don't want to cause any damage. It will get better.

How To Become Successful With Lapband
Banded 1 month, lost 19 lbs. Did WW for my documented weight loss and just stayed on program until surgery. Between WW and banding I am down 60#. Cazzy is spot on and more experienced but I think she is right, depends on exercise, portion control and what you eat.

Think My Stomach Is Bruised??
Knock on wood, have not had this since banded. But, I usually get it once or twice a year because of the nature of my job. My stomach was sore even then, you are probably OK, but I would call my doctor.

Looking For Some Post-Surgery Advice
Have your liquid pain med filled before surgery. Soup, sf jello, ff cool whip is good on the jello. SF fudgesicles, grits, oatmeal, sf pudding. I could have full liquids as long as they could be swallowed without chewing. So make grits, oatmeal, cream of wheat very thin. If V-8 soup is available in your area it is delish. Good luck and happy banding!

I love the chocolate peanut butter whey protein powder from Wal-Mart, about $15 for a big canister. So yes you can have it.

One Month
I am one month post-op today! Feeling absolutely fabulous, loving all the compliments about how great I am looking. Best of all is how I feel. DH told me he thought I wasn't breathing one night last week because he couldn't hear me. NSV! First fill Wednesday, thought maybe I didn't need it since I have been losing steadily. However, I can eat all my protein, 10oz. of veggies and 4oz. of fruit. I am eating healthy but worry about stretching my pouch trying to stay satisfied. This forum has been soooo much help. Thank You All!

16 Days Post-Op And Weight Isn't Moving...
Don't worry about your numbers for now, this is the time for your body too heal. However, Kate was right about your body reacting to being in starvation mode. Try increasing your calorie intake by 100-200 and see if that helps.

Regarding Soreness...
Miss Meow, even tho it hurts to be upright, that is probably gas making your shoulder hurt. Walk, walk, and walk some more. It helps.
-
Constantly Tired..
I'm three weeks out also, and you're doing much better than me with the walking and drinking enough water. We are still healing, we had major surgery and it may take six months to a year to be completely healed. I think you have great stamina since you're already so active. Send some my way. LOL.

Feeling No Restriction & Tolerating Everything
I was banded one day after you and reading the posts here, this is normal. I am still on mushies till Thursday then onto solids. I don't have much restriction either, may still not have a lot even after our first fill. That is suppose to be normal too. I'll try not to offend you and if I do, I apologize, try to stay away from fast food, now is the time we should be practicing our healthy eating habits. I know it is sooo hard cause every time I see a fried chicken commercial I want to run to KFC (I live one block away). Be strong and we'll be healthy and gorgeous.

Stuck On Getting Stuck
I am really scared of getting stuck also, I love grits too and make them very thin. Last night I think I took my meds too fast with too much water, cause now I know what slime is.LOL.
