  1. The tomato sauce also could be helping the heartburn be worse than normal. It has a lot of acid, if I don't take my prilosec, I can't do any kind of tomato product.
  2. Had my sleep study done at a hospital and they made sure I took my sleep aid. It shouldn't skew your results. Go for it and good luck.
  3. I am 3 weeks post-op, did a supervised diet WW for 6 months lost 42#. Went on a trip and ate my faves, even tho' I knew I would still be able to eat them in moderation, the last day of vacation I got sick so I started my pre-op diet. My doctor does a full liquid diet for two weeks, clear liquids for two days after surgery, then full liquids for two weeks, mushies for two weeks after that, which is where I am now. Since June, between WW and my band I have lost 60 lbs. It can be hard but keep your goal in mind, stay focused, and get rid of trigger foods. Good Luck!!!! You will succeed
  4. The time will go really fast, I had to jump through hoops too for my insurance company. I went to WW for the six months supervised weight loss, 42# before 13# in the 3 weeks since surgery. When I finally got approval and a surgery date I was sooooo excited and still am. You'll love the Bandster life.
  5. Are you still one any meds, change soaps, try a new food? Are you broke out in a rash or hives? Try an oatmeal bath in warm not blazing hot water, doesn't have to be that colloidal oatmeal the stuff you eat works just as well, just make it a little finer on blender. I also would call my doctor. Good luck.
  6. My mushies list has fish, meatloaf, turkey chili, Swedish meatballs anything that you Don't have a lot of trouble chewing to mush.
  7. My oldest son (39), said my hands were getting thinner. My youngest son and daughter-in-law bought me a necklace 3 Christmas 's ago that I finally got go wear last month. The shower curtain doesn't try to wrap around me when I turn around. It 's much easier too shave my legs and I don't need a seat belt extension. Loving the band life!
  8. I wore pull on jeans the day after surgery to the store. It was a week before button and zipper means. I wore my PJ bottoms and t-shirt to and from hospital.
  9. Whatever the cost it is worth it. Thanks again, Waynette
  10. Yes Mimi, I am 2 1/2 wks post-op. Last week 2 of my incisions became tender, lumpy and red. Went to see my surgeon today and they are infected. Call your doctor. Good luck, Waynette
  11. Saw doctor this AM, do have infection in those 2 in incisions He removed scabs to drain and gave me an antibiotic, so on my way again. Have lost another 2.4# BMI is now 44.2, for a total since June of 54# and 8 pts lower on my BMI. Yea, for my band and this forum, all of you, my doctor, and me.
  12. Thanks Jeana, will let you know, how are things in Muskogee? My daughter-in-law is from Onapa, have you heard of it? Waynette
  13. I may have an infection in two of my incisions, I will call my doctor in the morning per the more experienced Bandsters advice. Love this site, will let you know.
  14. Well said lellow, I want to get rid of the excess tummy skin because I have fought a fungus/rash for more than ten years. I am afraid even after I lose the excess weight I will still have the same problem.
  15. B-52, I did meet with my doctor after 1 week, But I was told I could take my bandages off after 24 hrs, after surgery, maybe that was my mistake. They looked fine at my 1 week post-op. I will be calling first thing in the morning to my doctor. Thanks for the advice.
  16. I would definitely donate if able. My DH had a heart transplant 7 yrs ago. Organ donation is a subject I truly believe in.
  17. I was banded 12/29 and the incisions right above my navel about 1" and the other about 4" above the first one has stayed sore and still pretty red. Today the one above my navel began to bleed and had some pus (I think). The waistband of my slacks have been rubbing against it, maybe that has caused it to bleed? The other is very sore, if I touch it or brush something against it, I definitely know it. Is this part of the healing process? My doctor used glue to close me after surgery. Thanks for any help you can give me.
  18. Jean Macmillan, where can I find Bandwagon? Went to Barnes &Noble during my pre-op stage, but they didn't have it listed. Thanks
  19. I have been dealing with this since before menopause which was 8 yrs ago. I'll keep my fingers and legs crossed LOL and hope WL helps. Thanks.
  20. My foods are sauces and gravies. I won't give them up completely, but they will always be in moderation.
  21. Hummingbird, I was banded 12/29 and really think your posts have answered several of my questions. Especially the one on stress incontinence, what about an overactive bladder? Will my weight loss help that?
  22. Oh Thank You Mr. Salad!!!!! I never realized how delicious you are!!!!!
  23. I too have been a WW member 4 different times, this last time was to document my weight loss for insurance and approval. I am 2 weeks post-op, I lost 42# before surgery, will I join again if my band and I need help? You bet I will, it is the best WL program there is. Will I tell them I have been banded? NO. Because I too think they will see it as "the easy way out ". I love the new program and feel like I finally "got it ".
  24. Rachel, my doctor put me on mushies 2 weeks post-op, perhaps the fish without the crust would be better for your new stomach. I can have soft, not fried fish in the mushies stage. Good Luck!
  25. Congratulations! When my bariatic counselor called me to tell me I had been approved I was very excited and couldn't wait for my band to join my life. Welcome!
