Loving the clothes I once hated Being able to run with my kids Being able to lay on the couch with the hubby No more exhaustion from sleep apnea... a nap is now just a nap... 10 min and I am refreshed Painting my toenails easier My 9 year old loves being able to wrap her arms around me and they touch I can handle the heat a lot better Thanks for posting this, helped me remember why I did this and that I am getting healthier (someday my mind will catch up

Dull Soreness At Band Area...?
I too thought of wishing it gone because of the pain. I have a smoothie maker that makes awesome snow cone ice (but softer). I will have to make some just to eat plain Thanks for the idea. I just hope that it goes away soon, I return to work next week, I sub as a lunch server and there is heavy lifting. I have been released to do anything, but I took another week just to play it safe.

Dull Soreness At Band Area...?
I am 3 1/2 weeks out of surgery and still have pretty good soreness at band sight. Not sure if it's from hernia repair and band being done at same time. But it almost feels like heartburn too. Just had primer taken out and now able to eat mushies and get all my liquids in. I was dehydrated because I was too tight and couldn't get anything in and then had swelling in my esophagus that took almost a week to go away. So now I'm back on prilosec. I get nauseous real easy too. I am so glad to be going to the support group tonight. But is this sound normal at this stage? Just looking for others thoughts.

Spicy Hot
I honestly don't know if it was the chili, but I do know i had 4cc filler in my band from surgery. So he took it out. He said my symptoms where not typical, but you can't compare since everyone is different. So I'm on liquids till I feel better then I can try mushies. Maybe I was just over tight and need to heal. I go back in 3 weeks. And no it was not a confirmed case of dilation. But def. have reflux back. At least I can get more liquids in now

Spicy Hot
I am 18 days post op and don't even miss the coffee. I am allowed 1 cup of reg and then decaf. But I don't even want it, definitely gaining more energy. I also had hernia repair, never thought about caffeine aggitating it. Also I caused myself some grief by pureeing chili and eating it, dr said it shouldn't have affected me this bad. But my reflux has come back possible dilation of esophagus. So I am back on liquids and think that I will personally stay clear of spices for a while... hee hee

Day 1 Surgery And Wondering What I've Done To Myself
I hope you are feeling alot better now. I too went through the same feelings (surg. 2/20/12). I had a hernia repair and it has made my recovery last a little longer, but walking and deep breathing has been so benefitial. I just have to keep reminding myself that I did this to be healthier

Learned My Lesson
Talked to the nurse at the dr's office, she thinks it was reflux from the spices. And was glad to hear I went back to liquids. Now I just can't quit crying today. I was never this emotional. I just can't wait to go back and talk to the actual dr.

Learned My Lesson
OMG... that is a typo!!! Ever since surgery I have only been able to get down 2oz at a time. Sometimes not even that! I don't have a real desire to even eat yet. I just couldn't believe the rawness in my throat this morning, it's weird. Fixed the typo... thanks for pointing that out!!

Learned My Lesson
I was doing great, 15 days post op. I am allowed mushies now so I took some chili and blended it too baby food consistency. Only ate about 2oz of it. Everything went well, felt good, went for a walk on the tread mill. But good lord about an hour after going to bed, I got sicker than a dog. Nauseous and had relfux feeling. For a snack I had 2 oz of v-8. I don't know if something got stuck or what happened, but it was so bad. I am going back to liquids to day. A popsicle for breakfast was too much and definitely feel swelling in throat. Don't see dr till next week, if it keeps up I will be calling the nurse. Not sure if it was the food choice that was bad or if it was the fact it was a little thicker than liquids. I guess I learn the hard way!

Surgery Wednesday...still Having Trouble Getting Liquids Down?!
I was just banded 2/20/12 and I had similar problems, seemed to have loosened up. My surgeon says to aim for 64 oz of liquids a day, I'm lucky to get 30 in. Not sure if this is just his rule or if it's normal. I just keep sipping away.

Has Anyone Else Had A Hiatal Hernia Fix When They Where Banded?
Getting much better as the days go by, but can definitely tell when I over do it.

Has Anyone Else Had A Hiatal Hernia Fix When They Where Banded?
Joyceann... It's kind of weird that after they fix the hernia and I realized what pain and area that came from makes me realize I had this hernia a lot longer that what they think. I've even gone to the emergency room years ago thinking it was from my chest or something. The pain is slowly going away and has become more of a soreness than anything. but I know that it's pain from hernia repair and not so much the band.

Does Anyone Get The Sweats Or Have Skin Burning?
No other symptoms, thinking it may be related to hormones. It's getting better
