I Got The New Vst App On My Phone, But
Dooter replied to mommy794's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
If I'm using the mobile app for iPhone, how do i switch it to the full version? I did it on accident today, and now I can't get it back. I like the full version. -
I don't know. I am FREEEZING!! Up until surgery, I couldn't GET cool enough. I'm in menopause too! I think there are some temperature regulation issues after surgery. I don't remember the explanation for it though.

Nope. Hernia won't affect that at all. My surgeon uses an endoscope to size the sleeve and see it on the inside at the same time. It's equivalent to a 34, and he uses it with a hernia or not. I had one repaired.

Sleeve Capacity At Eight Weeks Seems More Than It Should Be
Dooter posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Monday the 9th will be 8 weeks since my surgery. The other day, I let myself get a little too hungry, so when I made a can of tuna for lunch (regular 5 oz can) with some light mayo and pickle relish- I ate the WHOLE THING!!! With a few wheat crackers to boot! I only felt very slightly uncomfortable. Should I be able to do that?!? I can easily eat 6 oz of food. I do not make a habit of getting too full. I stop when I feel like I'm getting there, or sooner. I've been weighing my food and trying to be careful, but if I only eat a couple ounces, I'm hungry again in no time. Like...stomach growling fiercely kind of hungry. This is worrisome. Is anyone else this way? Does it change over time? My surgeon used the endoscope to size my sleeve, which is equivalent to a 34 bougie, which is pretty small. I'm not worried that I've stretched it, because I don't stuff myself. But what IS going on?? Any ideas? -

Yep. NOT worth the risk. -
OOHH!! During my Protein shake and cream soup phase--I took the cheddar cheese and lightly swirled it into some an herbed tomato soup! Tasted like pizza soup!

Try to get more of those shakes down. you won't regret it. 5 a day with water or 4 a day with milk. I wasn't ever physically hungry if I kept up on those. You are ALMOST there girl. You can do it!! My "freak out, I've had enough of this #$%^" day was day 10. After that, I just went numb. On the other side of surgery you won't feel this way. Get some little sugar free candies to suck on. That helped me a LOT. Lifesavers and Jolly Ranchers both make sugar free. I got mine at Target and/or Walmart. You can do this!!!! You're almost there!!!

When Should I Start To Smoke Again / After My Sleeve?
Dooter replied to bopbopbaby's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeve operation for weight loss= Life Giver Smoking= Life Taker Don't cancel one out with the other. (ex-smoker speaking. I KNOW it's hard. Just consider it.) -
No. It's not too much. I can easily hold 6 oz now. Sometimes a little more. One egg is not too much at this stage. Good to see you again!

Oooooo....I WISH I could burp.

Sleeve Capacity At Eight Weeks Seems More Than It Should Be

So, like....use a measuring cup to get "4 oz." instead of weighing 4 oz.? I can see how that would make a difference. 4 oz of feathers will fill a bag, whereas 4 oz of concrete will fit on your thumb. (not that I'd eat feathers or concrete ) -
Sleeve Capacity At Eight Weeks Seems More Than It Should Be

All that loss was on the front end. scale quit moving weeks ago. Very frustrating. I was worried that my increased capacity has stopped me from losing. I do go to the gym regularly though. -

LOVE G2. Saved my bacon that first week with Clear Liquids. I like the little powder packs. Tastes better somehow. I even dilute it more than it says. -
Had Surgery On Monday And Need Some Answers
Dooter replied to Lukergirl's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Good good. Ice was my best friend that first week, I tell you what. It was the only thing that felt really soothing. I'm kinda backwards I guess! -
Craving Pizza, Surgery Tuesday. Help!
Dooter replied to Misstxdiva's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was on 2 weeks of liquids and one of my doc's reasons was not only to shrink the liver, but to clean out the intestinal tract as well. He did not do a bowel prep, so I had to be GOOD. I did not have a single bite of ANYthing I shouldn't have. Before I started the liquids though...I got ALL of the food funerals out of the way. I did miss one item that still haunts me though. You need to know what your doc's purpose for the pre op diet is. If he wants clean plumbing before then--then don't do it. -
Thought I Was One Of The Lucky Ones
Dooter replied to 2ndtimesacharm's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I thought the saaaaaame thing. Uh huh. The body is a weird and mysterious thing. It's obviously a process it just has to go through. I've quit trying to figure it out and just go on and look at that same stupid number on the scale day after day. (siighh) It'll move. I have to believe that. -

How Long Do You Wait Between Drinking?
Dooter replied to mrsteacher's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ya, if you're stomach is empty-- drink as quickly as is tolerated. Your stomach will let you know if you've gone too fast. At your stage...that might not be very fast. If you get a minimum of 1 oz every 15 minutes for every hour you're awake, you should get all of your liquids in. You can probably go faster than that. -

Even if you have to call the doctor for advice, do it, because in a couple more days you will end up in the E.R. with an i.v. You can dehydrate VERY quickly at this stage. -
My only nausea came from the fact that I could not drink anything (not even ice chips) for the first...almost 24 hours until they did the leak test. My doctor doesn't allow ANYthing in the stomach until that test. Not all docs do that though. They give you the nausea meds in your i.v. if you have trouble though. It's a quick trip through the hospital. It'll be over before you know it.

The only thing I remember about waking up in the recovery room was me moaning about "it huurrrrts..." (it was probably the gas they pump in during the surgery) Then the next thing I knew i was waking up in my hospital room. They kept the pain managed very well. I took my pain meds for exactly 2 weeks, but I had a hernia repair that did not want to settle down right away. Otherwise, I think I would have felt great. The sooner and the more you walk, the faster you feel better.

What the heck is wrong with people??? What is SO hard about saying "WOW, you look great!! Congratulations!" ?? ("Oh no!! If the fat girl gets skinny, then I'LL be the fat girl!! How DARE she!!") God help us.

I think if you let them know right away that you're really freaked out, they will give you something to relax you. Or so I've heard...
