    Surgery Vs. Faith

My faith teaches me that nothing happens without the will of God. And if it brings about good then you can rest assured that it is a blessing from God. It also reminds me that Satan is very aware of human consciousness and our fears. he (Satan) has been around a long time and knows what to whisper to a person to make them doubt a decision that might lead them to glorify God in a way they've never been capable of doing. Just imagine how wonderful it would be for you to not carry around a ton of weight, how much easier it would be for you to praise and worship God, how grateful of a servant you would become and how high your confidence would soar. Satan knows that if he can keep you in this state of mind in body (spirit) he can keep you away from God. God creates, man manipulates. If there is a tool out there that can help you reach your weight loss goals you should thank God for His mercy on those of us who thought we were doomed to this unhealthy state of physical self, that He has given us the knowledge to create the tools to cure ourselves. God bless you and keep you in a positive state of mind! :-D
  5. If you think you can than your already half way there! Congrats on all the weight loss so far. If that's what you can accomplish without the lapband you'r body fat is about to have a very rude awakening once your banded

First Call, "hello, This Is Heaven."

LOL! "I'm a tree" Well if you're an everyday tree than I'm a sequoia because I'm 6'1!! and haven't seen 192 since the 3rd grade!!! I Have been moving up the scale since. Now after 2 babies and a wonderful life I'm in the 300's and well...height doesn't hide everything (as you can attest to :-) Anyway, have you decided to get the surgery or are you still researching?
  7. That's exactly what I'm hoping for with the band.
  8. So I'm sure that many can relate when I say I feel as though I have an eating problem, maybe even a slight addiction. I know my triggers and I know my likely times in which I am more apt to overeat, however, I've yet to go to my psych evaluation (next week ) So I'm wondering for all those who know what its like to be reliant on food for more than just hunger, explain to me please how you've coped with or broken your negative eating habits, food addictions and or emotional eating problems. Thank you!

Day 3 Post Lap Band Surgery

Congrats on your surgery, it sounds like your doing well. I hope your pain eases up soon and can't wait to read more of your posts
  10. Sounds like a really good (anxiety free) time . I'm working now (before surgery) at learning how to eat like a bander so that once I am banded it won't be so new to me.
  11. Staying the course with P90X so that I'll hopefully be strong throughout my surgery and make it easier for myself to get back into exercise

    Being Banded On 1/9/2012

Congrats! I don't know why your surgeon has decided to wait till FEB to do your first fill, mine explained to me that he will fill mine to 3cc's on the table (which I'm very happy about!) but what Arzel says makes perfect sense and seems to be the popular choice for most surgeons.

    1 Month Post Op

Those are some awesome NSV's! I hope those late nights and weekends get easier as you continue to gain more will power. It's great that you've even been able to at least recognize your threats, now you just have to figure out how to guard yourself from them. Good luck on your journey :-D
  14. So today I visit my surgeon for the first time (outside of a seminar) and I'm excited to the MAX! My insurance said they cover the procedure so I'm ready to hear what the DOC has to say :-)

  15. Wow, sounds intense! I haven't been banded yet but I enjoy reading peoples first experience with the band. I hope you get better soon and good luck on your journey
  16. I have 1 supporter...that's far more than I need :-D

    Eleven Pounds In 3 Weeks

That's awesome jreal! Congrats on your progress!
  18. So I met with my (hopefully-soon-to-be) surgeon at a seminar last week and made an appointment with him for this week. I found out that my insurance (United Healthcare: Choice Plus) will cover my surgery (Thank GOD!) and I turned in all my medical history and personal information regarding insurance to the surgeon the day of the seminar so I'm wondering...what's next? I'm super excited and very anxious to get a surgery date...how long did it take you after confirmation of payment through insurance? What did you talk about? What HAPPENS NEXT?!? Thanks for your input
  19. What were your biggest fears before surgery ? Did any come true? Ranging from fear of insurance company backing out, to overeating with the band? I appreciate your input!
  20. Whoa! If 70 pounds in 5 months is "slow process" I'll take it with a huge smile and a loud "thank you ma'am!" That's so awesome and very much inspiring! Thanks for sharing!
