Awe I'm sorry to hear that. I know just how she felt. I would not wish this on anyone. I don't know why this wasn't explained to me.

I Wish Someone Had Told Me....

No I did not have any apnea or other complications. The way they explained it to me is the tube was there to make sure I did not have any internal bleeding. It was a ng tube. I had some bag on the side and they said when the Water in that bag starts running clear then it was safe to take the tube out. So let me make this clear to everyone, if you are going to be sleeved in St. Petersburg FL by Dr Ernest Rehnke, You will without a doubt have a tube through you nose and down your throat lol. I cried and cried and they would not take it out until they knew I was no longer bleeding inside. They said this was standard for every sleeve and gbp patient. Only if I knew before hand I would have got out of dodge. I can laugh about it now. I took pictures as well. I will post them to my profile when I get a little further out. If anyone wants to see it message me and I will send it to you. My little girl was crying because she said I looked miserable and helpless.
  3. I feel like I can eat way too much at times. For instance, one whole egg is not enough. I eat 2 whole eggs.

Thank you for your post. Before surgery I was so malnutrioned (is that a word?) my doc said it wouldn't hurt to take enough vitimans. At my next appointment I will have blood work done and I will definitely know if I'm doing too much then I will back off lol

  9. I can't wait to fit into a size 7 Levi 501 and 550 jeans. I was a size 7/8 prior to my 3rd child 9 years ago and I would love to wear them again. I will settle for a size 9/10 also. Oh how I loved Levi jeans. I wouldn't dare put on a pare right now. Great post.

I Wish Someone Had Told Me....

Spiritstalkergoddess, I don't know if this is standard for all doctors but it was sure a standard for mine and I was not aware of that. I was acting like a 2 year old with that thing down my throat. I was like I promise I'll be good if you take this out. I was crying like a baby. Whew thank God that was my only complaint. I did not have much pain at all and everything else went smooth. I was going to post a pic but can't figure out how on this tread.

    Breakfast Sandwich Recipe--Solid Foods Stage

Sounds yummy! :tongue2: Thanks for posting.
  17. One thing that stood out to me is the fact you can't not eat bread with the band. I'm not a bread eater but if the spirit moves me to have a piece of bread then I don't want to be restricted. I also was told when a person who tried to eat a piece of bread got it stuck they had to have it surgically removed. That did it for me and my insurance company also made the choice easy too by making me go to a center of excellence.
  18. My insurance company told me once you are approved you are approved.

I Wish Someone Had Told Me....

I wish someone had told me I was going to wake up with a tube down my throat. I was totally not prepared for that one and as a matter of fact my 1st words when I woke up was why are yall trying to choke and kill me? They started laughing but I did not see anything funny. They finally explained this is what they do for the sleeve. Up until this point I had done an extensive research on the lapband and had decided on the sleeve at the last minute. So if someone would have mentioned that then I would have been mentally prepared.
