    Can't Control Appetite

I was Banded on 11/30, I've lost 12lbs. since then. But I have no appetite at all. I usually have to force myself to eat because I don't like the bloated feeling after I eat. I have been following my Doctor's instructions to the letter which now I am on full liquids. When I went to my Doctor for my first post op visit, His response to my eating habits were the Band is working without a fill. Every one's body is different maybe try from my dietitians notes to eat 6 small 4oz meals a day. But check with you Doctor.

Denied by BCBSI for Lap Band Surgery And Devastated!

I would go to your Med Spa and have them to provide you with documentation, also go to your PCP to provide health documentation it may take a few months but don't give up! It will happen. My surgeon provided me with forms to be filled out by my doctor which made it easier and I kept for myself a copy of everything because sometimes my PCP doctor would forget to provide my surgeon paperwork on time (very important). Most Insurances require 6 months documentation without skipping a month or you would have to start over. Best of luck

    Starting Soft Food Tomorrow!!

I heard Ground Beef was not good (made with gristle) unless the meatballs are made with lean beef or ground turkey and put into a sauce. You might want to try baked Tilapia yum yum and a very soft fish .
  5. My surgery was on 11/30 and I've been following the Doctor's instructions of clear liquids and to start protein drinks on day 4. It is not so much feeling hungry because after I eat or (drink) LOL my meals and I fill full for about 2 hours then go to the bathroom repeatedly. Has anyone else experienced this? What do I do? this is getting quite annoying!!!

  9. I am a newbie to this site and I am scheduled to be banded on 11/30/11. I have read several post of success and frustration, so kind of nervous now and don't know what to expect. I am going in at a starting weight of 285lbs, 57 yrs old and need too lose over a 100lbs. my question is this possible and how long does it take. Next question about the Protein drinks, what is the best way to prepare them? I was thinking the same way I prepare my slimfast w/ skim milk and ice in my blender, any suggestions.
