  1. I'd be really concerned about the bars hitting your abdominal area and damaging your incision sites. Just a thought. I was very protective of my abdominal area.
  2. I have so been there and done that..... It took me a long time to get rid of my clothes and one day, I just decided to do it. I love how spacey my closet is now..... I actually have a lot of room.... Also only buy clothes that I really love.......
  3. Time to put on our discipline caps and remind ourselves in the evilness of chocolate, oh yeah, the evil chocolate.... LOL I'm not getting candy until the day of Halloween! ;(
  4. I was referring to those who have a thyroid but it is slow to metabolize. Having no thyroid is a dilemma. have you spoke with your surgeon about this? I'd be interested in finding more info on this.
  5. I had this problem for the first 2 months, when sitting with a client, my stomach would rumble loud and we would all start laughing. It does go away thank goodness.....Keep up the good job.
  6. My surgeon is very conservative, she told me nothing over 10 lbs for the first 8 weeks.
  7. This is such a wonderful site to get info and ask questions. You are doing fabulous with your new sleeve of steel! Keep it up and welcome.
  8. I do not have hypothyroidism, but I'm curious as to why someone with this disorder can't take medication for this to enhance weight loss with surgery?
  9. This has been a totally changing experience. It's such a wonderful journey for us. I love my new skinny body now..... I love my sleeve.
  10. Wow you lost 3 lbs when visiting your mom! Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy! Not only that, your going to have a baby! Wowwwwwwwww all these wonderful changes coming your way.
  11. I really want to thank Sleeve4me for starting this Saturday challenge. This is like a documentation for our weight loss. I have been feeling like my weight loss has been at a stand still since my 5 month post op, but after reviewing this is what I discovered: 2/12/12 167 2/20/12 160 3/3/12 155 3/17/12 154.8 4/28/12 152.8 6/2/12 149.1 I hadn't logged anything since june though. But today, my weight is 145.6 lbs. How cool is it to see this pattern in weight loss and here I thought that I was basically at a stand still. Simply amazing. This has been such a great tool.......... Thank you all!
  12. It amazes me how people are always trying to beat the system . I got fat because I chose to eat the wrong food and I couldn't lose the weight. So I know that I sabotage myself in many different ways. I am choosing to follow what medical professionals tell us bc I can't afford to fail at this.
  13. I want to be exercising at least 4 times a week.
  14. Isn't this exciting! Congrats on your new clothing!
  15. You are so right..... All my docs treat me like I have the R N Y. Well I don't. I don't have a pouch, I have a stomach that's reduced by at least 85%. My intestines are all there and accounted for. Yep. However though, I do like eating the way I do. It has helped me be very successful in my weight loss. I love my skinniness now..... I have periods of time when I just want to sit those doctors down and share my insight with them. I will continue to eat like this forever.....
  16. I tried the liquid Tylenol and it made me vomit...... So I took extra strengh capsules and I have had now issues with my stomach.
  17. Kayte ~ it so good to see you here.... I thought you were lost. Congrats on your weight loss......
  18. My nutritionist suggested I eat a fruit for snack. It's so funny how every bodies professional opinions differ. I love really juicy plums and peaches. Yummy......
  19. Your friend would probably fill like she hit the jack pot. I thought the same thing about my hubby's cousin. She absolutely loved them.
  20. OMG, I missed all the excitement........ Oh well, didn't need the stress anyways.
  21. This is really good to know. i will call my surgeon's office and inquire. My PCP told me that I would be referred back to my bariatric surgeon if surgery is needed.
  22. My PPI is a prescription, but they also sell it over the counter too.. Hope it helps. Now let's get the swelling down in your ankles! You can do this.
  23. In radiology, did you have to go 2 hours before your procedure? They want me to be there 2 hours before the procedure and drink 1 liter of contrast. I think I really need to talk with my PCP and find out what my options are.
  24. Your doing great! Hang in there and these 2 days will go rather quickly.
  25. Sleeve of Steel; I love your title, "Cheesey-humored, Lord of the Rings-loving goofball. It fits you really well! I also graze throughout the day eating just as Sleeve of Steel mentioned. I just found out yesturday at my consult with a general surgeon that I have lost 2 more pounds since my last visit with my bariatric surgeon last month.... This make me smile!
