  1. This is the perfect time to seek counseling to help deal with these demons. Time to get back in control with eating habits.
  2. So when you read this color font, is it hard to read? Just curious and would love the feed back.
  3. Happy Turkey day everyone! Today my son is cooking a fabulous bird with all the fixings and we are having double cream blueberry pie or New York Cheesecake. Yumm Yumm, It well be delicious as always and i will have very very small bites, mostly protein and a tiny sliver of pie. Let the game begin......LOL! Happy Thanksgiving and I am so thankful to all my friends on this site and also my family that have been really supportive.
  4. This is so scary and frustrating...Are there other surgeon's in his office? If so, maybe you can be placed on their schedule.....Praying for you.....
  5. Are you taking iron supplements currently? If not, this might be a good time to start, but check with your doc first. Or worst case scenario, you would have to postphone the surgery, but you might not get a refund on your plane flight. So do the best you can and bring the iron level up............Let us know what you decide.....
  6. Hi Wendy; It's time for a reality check........You lost 24 lbs in less than a month, is that correct? Wow, that's more than you would of lost before getting sleeved.......It's working big time.....before you know it, you will be buying new clothes because your current cloths won't even stay on your body.....Yep, that's right, new smaller size clothes. Please try to sit back and enjoy the roller coaster ride your on. Learn how to change the old habits that contributed to your weight loss. You will be a big success at this! In fact, you already are a success! Keep it up, your doing great.......
  7. Tomorrow is going to be a wonderful day where we give thanks instead of gorging ourselves on food.......Picture yourself with just a little bit of this and that on your plate....It will be delicious but you will be really full and satisfied. Love your body..... Happy Turkey Day!
  8. We all lose at a different pace. If your exercising than you have muscle that your building, your sister is not and she may be losing her muscle mass. I wouldn't put too much into it because in the long run, you will most likely be more successful at keeping the weight off because your changing your negative eating patterns. You will sustain weight loss longer and permanently where she is giving into her triggers and eating the foods that are calorie condensed with no nutritional value. So don't worry too much about her and keep doing what your doing, at the end of the journey you will be very happy....... HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
  9. At a year out I can eat more, but I work hard at keeping the portions down. I eat 2 eggs with some cheddar cheese, but 1 egg will do me just fine for breakfast, lunch I will eat 5 slices of dry salami or order a child's portion of teriaki chicken and eat about 1/2 portion. I will order a Carl's jr Biscuit with sausage, egg, and cheese and throw the largest half of the biscuit in the trash. and even then i can only eat about 3/4th's of it. For dinner maybe 2 oz of steak a couple bites of baked potato, and a couple bites of salad at the most. I skip dessert. Picture a dessert size plate and only the middle has food on it. Half the plate is protein, 1/4th of the plate is veggies, and the other forth of plate is maybe a carb (I usually skip this part). I stay away from breads, pastas and rice.........
  10. I am confused as to how you are referring to your "reformed digestive system"? As far as i know, my digestive system is still the same, just use to smaller portion sizes......I so love my sleeve because I know that if it wasn't for the sleeve, I would be putting weight back on..... Jana ~ 20 lbs loss is awesome.....Keep it up and eat healthy......Just keep it flowing....HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
  11. I love the lasagna and taco cupcakes....delicious....
  12. Hi Saddie I am also one that hates soups. But ofter the surgery, I struggle with dehydration. So I learned to love soup now. I do not like bland food so I would spice up the soup which really helped a lot. It also helped me with my dehydration too.
  13. Susan, you look absolutely beautiful and skinny! Wow, your bike is gigantic compared to you! Love it......
  14. June13sleever how far are you post op. I know that i'm 13 months out and I can eat more. I still try to keep my portions small but sometimes get hungry about 2 hours later. I'm trying to drink teas and more water to balance it. I eat more when I'm home and bored. I am really going to focus on preparing my foods instead of eating out. I am also going to weigh my foods also. Now I'm getting back in the game to loose about 5 lbs so I will be at 140 lbs. I have started eating candy and it's time to quit that......
  15. We all struggle with this too. Then we rem  ember that we couldn't keep it off. I know that when I was eating less, I was always hungry. I knew that if I didn't have this surgery, I couldn't sustain my portion sizes for very long. I also realized that I didn't really need to eat that much food anyways. I know that this is just a tool and my work is fighting my head hunger on a daily basis. Those habits do sneak back in very quickly. So i believe this is the right choice for us. I am so thankful for my sleeve and would do it again in a heart beat...........
  16. CONGRATS on your success! Wow, 150 lbs......fantastic.....I am currently doing a semi fast before Thanksgiving and after. I realize that I really need to keep sugars out of my diet because I am diabetic even though my blood sugars are under control....I've had a bad weekend with too much sugary treats, just couldn't say no to myself, but today, I'm back on track......Yayyyyy for me.... I love the ideal of after the 1st fasting also. That i will do.......
  17. This is not easy. It does take a lot of preparing both mentally and physically. Every one here has given you great feedback and now it's time to research everything you can find. Eat protein, protein, protein, and drink a lot of water to keep hydrated. Eat healthy....
  18. I wouldn't be forcing in too much protein right now.....Take it slowly. Look at the label of your ensure and take notice of the sugar content in it. That is what's giving you the shits.... Too much sugar. I love the Premier Chocolate Shakes and I buy them at Costco. They have minimum sugar. Also, if it's on your diet plan, eat some yogurt or sf jello or pudding. Those really help. Keep the sugar down to a minimum. Hope you feel better......
  19. Grayeybeauty, I'm happy you ranted, that person was totally inconsiderate of other people's struggles. I see it as a moment of letting off a little steam, and that's not all. Nothing wrong with that....In fact, most people are not intentionally going out of their way to hurt other people, they do not sensor there mouth.....It hurts other people......Now it's time to lead those insensitive people and when they step over the line, let them know.......When I have a friend that is insensitive, which she is 90% of the time, I will say something like, "Hey, what do you mean by that?" She'll answer and then i tell her how I heard it and she usually gets the message. It's not easy, but life isn't easy either. The most important aspect here is that I feel better about myself. And that is success!!
  20. So you are the new kid on the block..... Yayyyyyyyyyyyyy and welcome. Can't wait for you to start your journey......
  21. OMG! What a fabulous transformation! A whole new person! Love it!
  22. I love what everyone has said about getting back on track. you can do it if you truly want too. No more excuses. Just do it! The more you do it, the better you will feel about yourself, and the more likely you will continue to do it. Don't get on the scale everyday, maybe 1 time a week is good..... LilMissDiva also posted "The Basic Bootcamp" in which I just posted on another topic but I still have it here so I will re paste it.....Give it a shot and let us know how your doing. And remember, it's time to clean the house of all the non nutritious foods like are junk! Today, no later, no excuses, just do it........ The BASICS BOOTCAMP: For 5 STRICT DAYS I will eat only... Proteins: Seafoods, Poultry and eggs, Dairies, nuts/seeds including Peanut Butter. Veggies: Green only. Fruits: None. Breads/Cereals/Other Carbs: None. Fluids: One gallon of Water (128 oz.) or Protein drinks. Avoid: Sugar and Sodium Once the 5 days are over, I am pretty much over the Sugar Carb Demon. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate carbs! I do need them to live a healthy life and since I workout a lot it is important I have them. However, I need GOOD carbs. Whole grains, fruits, veggies... But I don't need processed sugars. White carbs, in cereals, breads, rice... etc.
  23. I don't believe most things I read on the internet. Now that I've lost a lot of weight, I look younger and I feel younger and I get feed back from others about how young I look. So I choose to not believe it unless there is a lot of empirical evidence to support it....
  24. But I replaced them with the one's on this site. I don't like them as much though. What happen to choices? Hummmmmmm?
