I have also gained part of my weight back. I have gone Keto for normal people and the admin wanted me to consume over 1249 calories. I couldn't. I went to bariatric keto and it was more reasonable. Now the difficulty is getting back on track and cutting all the crap out. My family keep bringing it back in the house and I get angry and eat it. My bad.
So now i need to pull myself back to basics. Tomorrow is my start date.

It is amazing for fertility. The question I would like to ask is did you have a sex drive before weight gain?

It has been almost 7 years since my sleeve. I was doing really awesome until I allowed myself to start drinking Frappacinos from Starbucks. Now I stopped and am pretty much following the ketogenetic diet. Cut out carbs and have increased good fat intake... I am finally back on track...

Thank you [emoji4] I think that's probably a good idea. I have tried to do the pre-op diet over again, a few times, but I always flake out. Honestly, the preop diet was hard before surgery, too. I'll have to see if I have my old diet papers still around. I was sleeved in 2013 & who knows where they are now!
Look into ketogenic WOE. It works for me and all I do is no processed foods, sugar, rice, Beans, or pastas. I eat healthy fats. Lost 15 lbs in 2 weeks.

Gosh, at 6 years out I forget I had WLS. I had put on 30 lbs by drinking Starbucks Frapps. I was so angry at my gain. I had been totally embarrassed to see my primary doctor and did not want to be weighed. I finally started eating Keto and I love it. My weigh is falling off again. So now I remind myself why I had WLS and eat the keto way.

So many familiar faces! I had taken a (LONG) break from this site because it got pretty catty for a while but I was hoping some of the tried and true were still around! :] I wish I had some advice. I'm up 60# over the last 4 years. I'm a lost cause. [emoji4]
You might check out the ketogenic WOE. It had helped me tremendously. It is so easy. I love it and have incorporated into my families WOE. Everyone had lost weight.

My husband has diabetes and is a type 2. He eats Keto WOE and his blood glucose is down, his A1C has improved from 8.7 to 6.5. He is decreasing his insulin intake also. He eats 1 time per day, only when hungry. We don"t eat processed foods. Our clothes are very baggy.

As a Type I diabetic who is on an insulin pump, I can attest to the fact that insulin makes you hungry. The more carbs an insulin-dependent diabetic eats, the more insulin we need to inject. I am leery of the Keto diet. Carbohydrates are not eaten, so the body doesn't need to produce as much insulin, but doesn't skipping breakfast keep the metabolism in sleep mode? (burning less fat) Anohter issue I have, the amount of saturated fat in this diet is obscene. Definitely not lean or heart healthy. All that being said, it often causes people to lose weight, the problem arises when carbs are reintroduced and saturated fats remain in the diet.
Sorry to sound so critical. I just know a lot of people on this diet, and I sometimes worry that some of the science is junk science.

I am 6 yrs out and added some sugars via frappuccinos. I gained weight. In the last month I started WOE Leto. I increased my fats by eating bacon, butter and other non processed foods. It had worked and I lost 15 lbs. Went back to wearing size 10 jeans and they are slipping now. I love eating Keto.

I would try going back to purée for a couple of weeks. Eat a little less and spread all her supplements apart. Take supplements with Protein Shake to coat her stomach. Hope this helps.

Hey there, I have been away for a very long time too. I have also gained weight by drinking Frappacino's and sugary things. It is like, I just got tired and gave up. I had a vision that my body was way to skinny at 146lbs. This was really irrational thinking on my part. After reading all my old friends story, it does seem a bit normal to put on some weight, but just how much weight is normal?
I am realizing now that I still need to get back on the wagon, do a cleanse (no sugar), and promote good health in my house. I find myself really really sad. My son is 34 years old and the past year or two, he has become enormously obese. It breaks my heart. So I am looking into the Paleo way of eating. I still drink a lot of Protein Shakes daily. But I have let bread back into my diet.
I guess what I am saying is that I am really sad over my weight gain. I hate that I am up a size. Dieting just isn't as easy as it was in the beginning. I'm also tired. Everything everyone has spoke about here, rings true for me too. I need to get back into checking in with others to keep on track. I spoke with a case manager at my bariatric center and she told me that in order to loose weight, I need to eat less than 1000 calories.
I am so happy I ran into all my old friends on this post. It brings me back to reality. It is still work.......

Hi. I. Was wondering if there are any issues with the sleeve years after?

I am almost 6 years out. The only issue is my head hunger. I still have to watch my calories. I gained 30 lbs by drinking frappacinos and then the sugar monster came on. It is still a lot of diligence.

I have a friend that said that. I told her thank you and I love you. She worked it out bc it was her issue not mine...

Going back to basics really helps. Eating Protein and veggies helps. Also keeping your calories under 1000 to lose weight.

Good job on preparing and losing the weight. It is amazing how fast our medical issues decrease or cease to exist. The hard part is making sure we change our maladaptive eating habits so we don't regain the excess weight we had. Our minds can really do a number on us. Keep eating healthy and don't let your head hunger get ya. CONGRATS!

Wow, this is a struggle after reaching goal. I have gained and am having difficulties getting back on track. Sigh...it is helpful to read about our struggles. For me, I have to start over with the basics. I just can't get my head into this. Makes me really sad and frustrated too.
