  1. U are post 6 days and running3 miles/? go girl
  2. I am not sure but u need to get some gas x strips that you put on your tongue and they melt. Not bad tasting at all. That is prob gas pains you are feeling
  3. 3 weeks on liquids. OMG> I would die. I am not doing well w the whole post op dieting when i know I can eat anything.. But i hav stayed away from meat and carb drinks.. that is a big plus for me. I have had soups which do really good for me... Ready for purees for week three. I hate that every surgeon has a different plan.. It makes it harder for us to discuss whats next!
  4. I am 11 days ppost op. This is the hardest time of the year to be banded and we are bandssterbadassess for doing it this time of the year!! GO US! I have had my own issues as you have described. People look at me and expect for me to be shrinking every minute while they eat in front of me. I have found that I can still eat, just not as much. I went out to eat with family twice today. irst I went to the mexxican resturant. I ordered a kids plate of burrito w/ rice and beans. Ate less than half of it. Tonight I went to a bbq house. I ordered a baked potatoe. and added some barbeque sauce and cheese to it to mush it up some. Life does not end just because we are banded. Make sure that you ask your surgeons office if they have a support group.. I know ours meets once a month but maybe if you can meet some people in your city your age that is going throug the same thing, it will help you. 18 is a hard age to do this. I hope you really thought about it but it will def be life changing for you..
  5. Every thing in life happens for a reason though some times we do not understand nor should we question God for his decisions. I bet you one thing though, I bet you are a stronger woman now and have a stronger marriage! Look at all of the positives even in the face of trauma and beat it with all your might. I hope you have it in you to stomp this and join us on the band wagon! My condolences to you as well as an offer to befriend you in our journey!
  6. Hey , it is an education issue. My 14 year old daughter asked me the night before surgery if I would loose all the weight before I lett the hospital. well, since I was only there like 6 hours, noooooo..lol.. enjoy the laughs.. later on in the journey we may cry.. The 0 is not a size we are uncapble of either so down set your standards to low...just cause it may take awhile.. just saying..
  7. Hey.. Dont be so hard on your self. Maybe he realized that you were gonna lloose all your extra weight, get gourgeous and leave him!! So make a mark of your own, you need to feel good about yourself. Jump on board and get her done!! Dont give up on you ... If you can raise and son and go to school. which I have done too, then you can loose weight!
  8. I am feeeling your pain. I am only 11 days post and I can eat any thing in the house I am not sure that the wii is a good idea for you yet. At this point we are still in walking mode. I was told no major exercise until instructed that it was ok to do so! Does your stomach give u some restriction? Like does it tell you after a little that you have had enough??? That is what mine does and I listen because I do not want to go up chuckin!
  9. I disagree with yall/ The human body can reject when the body has issues of its own.. sorta like rejecting the perfect man when she is having pms.. If she had issues that needed to heal properly without the band--- why does that make the surgeon sound like a bad person?? Not to me it does not.. And whether he charges he is irrelevant. My surgeon told me up front tthat some times people have had to have them taken out and then 3-6 months later put back in.. He does not charge for the second procedure HOWEVEr he did say that he could not say that the hospital would be as nice. This is suppose to be a forum to be of encouragement and not immediately doubting a professional. We live in a society that is all about blaming and lawsuits.. We need to change our way of thinking. Not every one is as money hungry as the tabloids want us to think. Good luck Honey. I hope it all goes well for you in the end.
  10. I have not started the reg vitamins yet but I read alot about the papya enzymes helping if you get a stuck.. I love the taste. you can take them 3-9 times per day as desired. it helps to digest your food and get it on out of the system faster.. love it..
  11. screen name" loretta/bacontonga age 38 goal weight for Jan 29- 180 weight on Jan 1- 195 dietary goal for Janurary- do not eat and drink at the same time. personal goal for Jan. - start an execise routine and be more active with my family. date banded- 12/20/2011 total weight loss since banding/preop diet- from 204 to 196= 8 pounds what is your goal weight for 2012- 140 pounds = 55 pounds to loose
  12. we did it. we have made a commitment to a better life to start out our new year with.. I was banded Dec 20. I started out at 214 preop and then the day of surgery I was 201. Today I am 195-196. I have GOT to get rid of the scales and only weigh weekly. They torture me. I have had no pain.. No nausea. No vomiting. And better yet.. I have made it through the holidays. First fill is not until Feb 2.. Going to start an exercise routine of walking in Jan hoping to help increase my weigh loss without the fill. How are yall doing??? We have to stick together and support each other. I am here for ya.. If you need to ask me anything and I am not on here, you can send email to hlorettawilliams@gmail.com!
  13. congrats!!! I have never been so excited for a medical procedure either!
  14. after they take the old band out can you get a new one put back in?
  15. I am trying to figure out what nsv stands for..lol
  16. I admit i felt pretty crappy the first few days but I just stayed in bed and rested. after that... by day three/ I was good to go.. I think the lack of carbs affect our energy in that first week causing us to feel like that.. Today is day 9 for me. banded 12/20/
  17. I have not had a fill yet as I was just banded 12/20 but I can eat just a little now and I am FULLL... If it stays this way, heck. I may not want a fill... No sickness no side effects at all and I am just eatting what I want to but I know when to stop.. The restriction that I guess that I will feel with the band is not being able to eat certain foods. I have no problem keeping down my food or drink.. just the full satified feeling.
  18. I am only one week post op and I have also found that I can eat ANYTHING that I want. And basically I have. But only a bite.. Like yesterday I had some cornbread dressing. Today I had some salad- just lettuce. I tommorrow I will be back on track and I hope to stick to only what I am suppose to eat!! It is hard when you can eat it.. I have had no problems keeping any thing down.. I do feel full after just a bite or so which is great... I have not overly ate or anything like that but it is sorta like cheating myself. -- Pototoe soup is my new fav food. I can eat just afew bites of it and I feel so warm in my belly!!
  19. what kind of cup is a camel cup? I want one of those. I was told not to drink out of a straw because of the air causin gas .
  20. I would find out if y our insurance covers it so that you can go to a local dr. The support that you need for a lapband is woth the wait and hoops that you have to jump through for your insurancce company IF they cover it at all. What is your BMI? I can tell you for insurance most say yyou have to have a BMI of above 40 or a bmi of 35 if you have two comobidites.
  21. I am ready... I have a big goal to be 30 pounds by March 25. I was just banded 12/20
  22. I admit. I did not follow the rules. I was banded 12/20. I fixed some potato soup and had a bout two teaspoons of it and it completely satified all my cravings and emptiness. It felt great...
  23. hope fully this will get you back in a healthy mode and you will be able to continue that great weight loss you have going on!
  24. I am hlorettawilliams@gmail.com or loretta phillips williams on fb . I am on one lapband site on fb. pretty cool too!
