Yellowsisi got a reaction from Fiddleman in Insanity workout
I LOVE IT! I am doing the insanity program (day 3) and running with C25K three times a week. I am on day 3 now and I feel my body getting tighter and moving is a lot easier. I also hike three times a week 7 to 12 kilometres to the top of Zugerberg ( a mountain where I live it is about 1000m high).
I always worked out even when I was bigger and working out has always been an addiction of mine as I do not smoke or drink.
I get dizzy during the work outs but I slow down drink some Water and carry on.
My doctor told me yesterday that is was probably due to low blood pressure from not drinking enough Water.< /p>
I am five months out and had a complete throidectomy 7 weeks ago. Seeing my nutritionist next week to see if I can supplement my food because I think for the level of intensity of workouts I need more calories.

I have been in the Green Zone for some time now. And I have NEVER FELT FULL.
Maybe it's a play on words, but feeling full is the same thing as it was after a Thanksgiving dinner, or a trip to the Buffet. it is the "I'm Stuffed" feeling.
If that is what everyone is looking for, you're not going to find it.
Under the definition of "Green Zone" it never says anything about feeling full. What it does say is you will be "Satisfied"
It is more behaviour, a mental thing. Since being banded, have you ever sat down at a meal, taken 2-3 bites and said "I finished, I have no desire to continue"? Well, that's what your band does. It sends a signal to your brain that "You are satisfied" Finished...no reason or desire to continue.
When this happens, don't force it. Listen to your band! Don't get hung up on "Am I getting enough Calories in?"
When the band say stop, you don't want or need to eat, then don't! This is also the signal that takes away your hunger cravings, etc, if you start practicing to listen.
It is as though the band sends the signal to you brain that you are full, and you do not need to continue, but physically you're not full. You may not have had anything to eat at all! But your brain says you have.

Hey sweetie...1st of all you are not weak. You can get protien in other ways like protien drinks. I drink Atkins Cafe Caramel (love it ) 15 grams of protien. Other foods that are packed with Protien and low in Carbs are peanuts and Tune. Please keep me posted you are not alone thats what this group is for

If I remember correctly you are the same person that posted not that long ago about wanting to have an unfill before going on holiday so that you could eat more. I am wondering if you have had you band too tight for a while which may have caused the slip or if maybe you kept pushing the limits because your head and stomach were no longer in sync.
And i may have also read in another thread that you throw up daily but again I'm not sure.
You could get another band, you know it has worked for you previously but it seems as though you have some issues that you should be sorting out first. The sleeve is also a good option but you won't be able to take a holiday from that when you think you want to. That is permanent and once it is done there is no going back.
This would be a tough decision to make at such short notice. I hope you manage to make the one that is right for you.

For me, it was a FIX. No more "White Knuckle Club" It was/is a life changing experience, not another diet.
Yes, I know how to work around it a cheat if I wanted to, but since the band has also taken away my appetite,
Why would I want, or need to cheat?
And yes, I know everyone is different, but that's my personal real life experience.

Well lets put it this way. There are a couple of possibilities.
    1. I could be 80 my band could be still working fine and not causing me problems.
    2. By the time I reach 80 ( in 30+ years time) they have come up with a new , more effective , easier way of losing and maintaining weight so I opted to have my band removed and go with the new method. A choice that I would not have had I gone for a bypass or sleeve initially.
    3. My band is causing me problems because I am old and gaga and can't remember to chew properly. Again I have the choice of having my band removed or I might just get it completely unfilled.
    4. My band is still working fine but I have no teeth so i am existing on slider foods and gaining weight.
I don't see what the issue is. At least there are still choices which is not true with some of the other surgeries. For example what if I got to 80 with a bypass and ended up malnourished because I was unable to eat enough and absorb enough for my bodies needs.
It is even possible that in this time frame my band may have to be replaced, possibly more than once. Again I don't see this as an issue. Knee replacement, hip replacements, prosthetic limbs, transplanted organs also all have a certain lifespan and then they too need to be replaced.

Yellowsisi reacted to futuremodel in Why Is It That Americans Don't Consider Getting The Lap Band Procedure Overseas ?
I'm wondering why Americans more often do not consider the lap band procedure overseas? From reading others posts on here, I think America put people through too much to have the procedure done. In my opinion it is a way of collecting money. I'm an American and I live in Europe now and had my procedure performed by Dr. Chris Bruyne in Belgium. I don't regret anything about the process. First off I had to approximately $5,600 dollars for the package that was offered which included 3 night stay in hotel for your companion, my two night stay in the hospital, taxi ride from the airport and to and from the hospital and all test, X-rays and lab work. The hospital was clean and the nurses were attentive and I received all the pain medicine to make me feel as comfortable as possible. Maybe it's the paying out of pocket that throws people off but I believe if its something you ready want then you'll save for it. At the end all I had to pay for was the meals my husband ate at the hotel and for our plane tickets (most times you can find tickets from the states to Europe for about $880). I'm a medical student now and I really wish America would catch on to the idea of stop wasting peoples time with their psychological and constant doctor visits, denials by the insurance companies and I can go on and on about how we are slowly advancing in medicine due to others chosen "Ethical" precautions and just do the procedure... BTW I can't wait to loose my weight because I'll be going back for a breast lift and tummy tuck; which is also much cheaper here!!!!!

I don't know for sure, but I think you can place all the negative bandsters into this old wise saying. The definition to insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome each time.
    Just my 2 cents
