  1. Happy 62nd Birthday Doriehi!

  2. I don't know if this will work or not but take a spray bottle, put a little bit of purified water and white cider vinegar in it. Spray the rash. I'd say about 80% vinegar and 20% purified water. It will smell but who cares if it works.

    Gallbladder Problems?

If you're having galbladder problems, you might want to go ahead and have it taken out. It is the most horrible pain you can think of. I've lost 30 lbs and had one attack. I'm going to have an ultrasound soon. I would rather go ahead with the surgery than wait for it to be infected and have more attacks. My daughter said she tore her bra off and laid down to die. I didn't know what was going on but I thought it was my band. I was screaming with the pain. Tell your Doctor what happens when you eat. Good Luck.

    Abdominal Exercises

My doctor said I can walk, ride stationary bike, eliptical but no weight lifting or crunches. I was banded 12/12/11

    For Women's Only

No problem with period and surgery. You'll be fine. Congrats!
  6. I steamed some fish so it was really soft fleshy meat. That was ok with my nurse.

    Im Confused...

You can eat anything that you can "see through" if it was melted. Chicken broth, Beef broth, homemade soup broth, sugar free popsicles, sugar free jello......don't eat "Cream of" until you are told by the dietician or doctor, about 2 weeks then you will go to "Soft foods" then other foods. You will get a fill then go back on clear liquids for a few days.
  8. You should discuss this with the doctor. Tell the doc about the rude criticism that you've encountered in his/her office. This is uncalled for. Good Luck and much success on your new journey.

    Post Op

Dyandra, Congratulations on your decision to have the lap band. Yes, everybody goes through a bit of depression because food was your friend and now it's gone. Hey but wait....it's not gone. There's only less of it. Once you start getting that weight off, you will want to go out again. You can go out with your friends, just order an appetizer, fruit salad or a chef's salad and eat slowly. You'll be finished with it by the time they finish. With all the conversation and laughter, you'll be glad you took the time to go out to a restaurant again. I was banded Dec 12, so I don't know much about it except that I feel like it's the best thing that I've ever done. You will too when you shop for those smaller clothes. Good Luck.

    Really Needing Some Support

Renee I'm so sorry about your loss. I wish you love, happiness and success in the new year.
  11. I told a friend yesterday that I had lap band surgery and he told me that he knows somebody that got a lap band and 2 weeks later, they had to take it out. I don't know who this person is and I don't know anything about her but my friend did say, "her stomach was all infected" So, I guess it does happen but not often. I'm glad you're ok. I'm sorry it didn't work for you and hope you someday will be able to get the lap band. It's been wonderful for me. No pain only soreness. Losing weight and inches. I was banded on Dec 12, 2011. Good Luck to you.

    Seafood? Can We Eat???

You can eat any fish especially the soft type on the mushy stage. I wouldn't eat any with crust though.
  13. This is what helps me: fill out a page of times in your word processor, like 7:00 ____7:30____ 8:00____etc. Print out several pages, one for each day. You are supposed to eat breakfast-write what you ate at that time. Wait 1 hour then drink water. Stop drinking water 1/2 hour before lunch. One hour after lunch, drink water again and so on till the end of the day. Write the amount down each time. The next day, get a different sheet of paper and start over. It gets easier as time goes by and you can look at what you've eaten and how much water you drink. If you get dehydrated, let your doctor know. Hopefully this will help you. I was banded on Dec 12 and have not had any problems. Do alot of walking. No lifting. Use a threadmill if possible or just walk while shopping or around the house. We decided to change our lives and I believe it was the best decision I've ever made.

Day 2 Post Op - Help

In a few days, that will get better. Drink plenty of water though. Get some stool softener, follow your dietician's directions and give your body time to heal. You will feel much better soon. Good Luck
