Shrinkin' Violets- Part 2 Read Here
You guys aren't going to believe this one........ Several months ago Hubby said he wanted to do something for me for my burthday. I really wasn't into it but I knew that he really wanted to do this so I told him to go ahead. I said for him to get with both my sisters and plan something but remember that I just didn't want black. See, I'm turning 50. Yup, that's right. 50. So time goes by and nothing. No one has done anything. So I go over to "Zarda's" and reserve the banquet room and go over the menu with the planner. Next I go and get invitations and have them printed up. I get the list of people ready and buy stamps. Than I go and order a cake and also get balloons ordered. All is set, just now have to wait for the big day. So glad that my family is doing something for my big day. I'm feeling the love. Don't get me wrong, I'm getting a good laugh out of all of this. So,,,Thursday night I get a call from my oldest nephew asking what day is "My Thing?" Well, it's sunday. Is something going on? He said that he has had a Tattoo scheduled for that day and that he won't be able to make it. (Get control of yourself girl, it will be all right. Not the end of the world.) So Sunday comes and I go pick my sis up. From there we go get my nephew's little girl Abagail. She's all excited about Aunt Suzie's birthday party. So excited that she wants to share it and goes around telling everyone in the restuarant that it is her birthday. Everyone starts to show up and there is food everywhere. It couldn't have been more perfect if I had planned it myself. Ooopps, I did plan it myself. Silly me. After the party we had invited a few people back to the house so that we could continue the fun. Now mind you I haven't had one single drink yet. Thru all of this I am trying very hard to be the best bandster. Now, Abby decides she wants to play in the sprinkler. She would go swimming but remember, we still don't have a pool. So I get her changed and turn the water on. I get all the toys out and her water wings. She runs thru the sprinkler twice and decides ahe doesn't want to go anymore. So I ask her if she wants me to go. I go in the house and put my shorts and t-shirt on and flip-flops. I go back out and grab Abby's hand and we start runnign thru the sprinkler, screaming and giggling. We run thru about 4 times and Pam comes over and joins us. We were soaking wet. This goes on for about 5 minutes and than we take a break for a few minutes. My nephew decides it's time for him to take Abby home so I tell her to get her flip-flops on and come on it the house. Now, there are 2 steps up from the yard to the deck and I somehow managed to miss the top step. Yup, that's right down I went. Everyone hollering at me "are you alright?" over and over. I finally get myself situated and tell them I'm fine, knowing that I don't think I really am. I pick myself upa nd brush myself off and continue to take Abby in to change her clothes. I finally get her dressed and take her back out on the deck when I procede to tell everyone that it's official, "I need to go to the ER". Hubby is furious. I think I just ruined his buzz he was starting on. So I go in and change my wet clothes and by now you can see the swelling in my foot and my knee is killing me. We get to the ER and I hobble in. The nurse ask what's wrong and I told her I think it's broke. She brings over a wheelchair and gets me checked in.This whole process at the hospital actually only took about an hour. There was only one other person there and he was getting stitches. They get me in and Doc orders x-rays. I get back to the room and in walks Doc and says "It's broke. What kind of pain killer do you want?". Vicodin, of course. So I have a wrenched knee, 2 bruised toes and one broken big toe. Now I have 2 vicodin in me and all is right with world. Or at least my little world I am now in. We get home and I go to call my boss and tell her. There is not one person to cover my shift so yes that's right. I have to be at work at 6am. Off to bed I go. 4:30 comes and I drag my ass to work. I take my pillow and parked my butt behind the desk and there I sat till my shift was over. That is my Birthday story. Did you like it??????? We have actually had a pretty good laugh about the whole thing. We somehow have found the humor in all of this. As soon as I get out of the "vicodin buzz" I got going, I'll post pics. Toes are rety bruised and swollen right now but I'm getting around pretty good. Hubby is taking me out to dinner tomorrow night for my actual birthday. I'm looking forward to it. Everyone have a great evening. Hugs to you all. Jane,,, Thank You. You're sweet.

Tracy, with the prices of everything the way they are I don't blame you for jumping in on such a great deal. You guys go and have the time of your life. Just remember that we want pics. Right KAT????? I'm so sorry that I missed out on the very first meeting. Hubby saw the pic that Kat sent and saw what I missed out on. He said that won't happen again. So my deal is I just want to spend all my time with you guys. I'm still in for the Tunica trip. I think that would be a blast. Laura, OMG. Ok, I have no idea what is going on here with this group. You can't blame it on the water. My problem is that I just don't know what to say to you. I have no words of wisdom for the broken hearts the medical issues the early babies and everything going on. All I can tell everyone is that I'm here to listen. I will share your tears with you, I will laugh with you. If I could I would hold your hand and walk with you. Here is what I can do. I can think of you all day long and send you purple power but most of all I will keep you in my prayers and ask God to walk with you. To keep you safe and to make your path as smooth as He can. That is what I can do. Now it's time for a group hug. Everyone hang in there. Hugs to you.

If I had a say so in it, I would prefer for our outings to be "Violets". Something laid back and intimate. So everyone could chat and not have to compete with shows and trips and hoopla. Just my 2 cents. Wish my house was big enough for all of you. Can we make do with a 3 bedroom ranch??? Slumber party in the living room. Laura's bra hanging from the ceiling..... Socks in our hair......Grease playing in the background.....TP'ing the neighbors.....Pam's hand in a warm bowl of water......Margarita's all around.....Think it would work?????

Terri, Thursday my girlfriends and I drove almost 200 miles to go see the "Precious Moments Chapel" and we had such a good time but while I was on the road I got 4 phone calls. My famiily knew that I was gone for the day, actually spending "ME" time. Can anyone go a whole day without Suzanne????? So yesterday was my sis and bil's anniversary. I had told them I would go to Appleby's and get dinner. They are late eater's so I knew it would probably be around 9 pm before I got an order. Well in the meant time I went next door for my neighbors 8th birthday party. I waited the whole time for someone to call me and tell me they were ready for dinner. I get home about 9:40pm and they want to know if Appleby's is still taking orders. I told them it was too late, I doubted they would take it and besides I had to get up early to go to work. Why didn't anyone call me? They said they didn't want to bother me. Soo, I'm 200 miles away from home and call me all you want but I go next door and you don't call. What's a person to do???????????????????

Yesterday I was 200 miles from home and no one had any qualms calling me to ask me non-important questions. Tonight I'm next door and do you think that 3 adults could have called me??????????

Mow, mow and mow some more.Today is our day to mow the grass at church. Takes both of us about 6 hours. Me pushing a mower and Hubby on the riding mower. Hopefully I think someone is supposed to show up to help us. At least it is only supposed to get in the 80's. I would post a pic of me in a bathing suit floating in my pool but guess what????????Still no pool. Maybe by Labor Day.

Just got home from our shift at the hospital. Not very busy for us tonight but they were still doing some late surgeries. One thing I did notice was when I went to ICU to pick up some equipment. There was a room that had some young kids in it. The man looked like he was well in his late eighties and not long for this world. Standing next ot his bed were two very young kids. So this goes out to Jenn, fight the fight. That little girl deserves to say good-bye. That hospital should be ashamed of it's self. Purple Power to Jenn, Terry, Pam and that new little baby waiting to be born. Tomorrow I will be gone all day. Heading to Carthage with some friends to go to "Precious Moments Chapel". Hopefully the rain will hold off till we get back home. Everyone have a great evening and a great day tomorrow. I'll check in when I get home.

Laura, since they just want a picture could you take a red magic marker and draw a few spots so it looks like it's infected??? Maybe Sis could help you out with that one. LOL. One question I have about the TT. Does your incision from the lap-band become your belly button?? Since they pull all of that down. Does it move it more south??? I can't wait for mine, no more hysterectomy scar.

Laugh for the Day..... Pfizer Corp. announced today that Viagra will soon be available in liquid form, and will be marketed by Pepsi Cola as a power beverage suitable for use as a mixer. It will now be possible for a man to literally pour himself a stiff one. Obviously we can no longer call this a soft drink, and it gives new meaning to the names of 'cocktails', 'highballs' and just a good old-fashioned 'stiff drink'. Pepsi will market the new concoction by the name of: MOUNT & DO. Thought for the day: There is more money being spent on breast implants and Viagra today than on Alzheimer's research. This means that by 2040, there should be a large elderly population with perky boobs and huge erections and absolutely no recollection of what to do with them.

Laura, Love the hutch and it looks great in your house. The line of shot glasses says it all. That's so you. Terri, I agree with Pam. Right now it's all about your mom and your time with her. Just brush your sister off. You have time to deal with her later if you want. Not much going on here. The weather has finally changed and it ahs been beautiful here. Still have the windows wide open. We have been spending a lot of time outside. Last night Hubby got the shopvac out for me and I vaccumed my car and than I pulled it out into the driveway and washed it. It was so nice out. Thursday some friends and I are driving down to Carthage to go to the "Precious Moments Chapel". I'm sure there will be a lot of little statues coming back to the city. I haven't been there in over 12 years and they were still working on the place. So I'm anxious to see it now. It was a wonderland last time I saw it. Have a great day and yes it is "CTCD".

Thought today was going to be a total washout and it turned out to be the opposite. We did have a storm here but not as bad as the weatherman were predicting(go figure). So we decided to go to the War Museuam and had the best time. Found out that a very distant relative of mine is buried there. Sending a picture of the storm after it had passed. When we got home the air had cooled down to a very nice 73 degrees. That's good sleeping weather, so you know the windows will be wide open tonight. Attic fan will also be on. Hubby and BIL are out back right now with about 3 slabs of ribs on the grill. Hope they get done before the beer kicks in. LOL. Kat, Hubby and I used to go every year to the bluegrass festival at the lake. I could sit and listen for hours. My ultimate favorite singer of all times is Emmy Lou Harris. Love, love her. What a voice. Janie, Hugs to you. Have a great evening everyone.

Slept in this morning. It felt real good to do that. Yesterday we had decided that today we would dive to Lone Jack to go see the civil war museum. We have drove by there so many times but have never stopped. Met a guy at church that helps run it and he was telling us all about it. So I get up, sun is shining and all is good till I turn the Tv on and they are warning people to get prepared. A dangerous storm is coming in from Nebraska. T'Storm watch, Flooding watch. Man I sure am tired of all of this. So now we have to stay home. Don't want to be out in the open during all of that. Terri, so glad you had a good time at your party and can't wait to see the pics. Sorry about your Mom. I know that ritual, one week at the ER and one week at the Doc's office, three weeks later it starts all over. I too also have a few in the family that I have nothing to do with. I had to do that for my sanity. TracyK, You are going to have some fun staying home. I actually became a more busy person. One thing you need to look for is all the free things that your city offers. Like storytelling time at the park, craft time at the Library etc. etc. There is so much to keep you to busy without costing alot. Everyone have a great day and tell all of you Husbands and Fathers I said "Happy Father's Day".
