  1. Home from work. It's was really boring tonight. I had an excellent eating day. Very proud of myself, now I just need to see if I can make it 2 days in a row. lol. Haydee, what ever you pick will be beautiful. You wedding is based on love and a true respect for each other and it will be reflected in your choices. I for one am excited, even if it was being held in a phone booth. (personaly, I'm looking forward to all the authentic Mexican food). I may get a complete unfill just for it. LOL.
  2. Laura, that was too cute. Haydee, I agree, it is your wedding. Mine however was my Dad's wedding. I was the first child to get married in the church and it was his time to shine. We had a great wedding and it was done on a small budget. I still get people telling me 26 and a half years later what a great time it was. Well, hubby and I went to the phone store to go over my bill that just seems to keep getting higher. Ended up getting a new contract and a new phone. I never did like my old one. Only problem with this one so far is that I can't store addresses in it. I don't think I can. Still looking into it. My old one had all the phone numbers and addresses and was great for when I was out and wanted to mail something. Other than that I really like it. I'm off to work, I'll chat at you tonight.
  3. I've been busy already this morning, just running around. Haydee, that's great about your car. I wouldn't have had that kind of luck. Jenn, I hope you have a really great time on your trip. this just may be what the doctor orderd. Speaking of doctors. Where is our residential doctor? Has she returned from her world wind globe trotting trip? Off to go get my housework done. Don't forget that it is CTCD.
  4. Ummmm, I don't think so. Us Violets stand together. All for one and one for all. We all shine as one. (Don't think that we don't know that you would just be back there snickering)
  5. I vote for the second one. Does it come with a wand or will there be those frilly parasols to go with it. Can Janie get us some eyeshadow to match the dresses and false eye lashes? And do our hair? I need to get out and find a suit for hubby to wear. Don't want him to clash with me.
  6. Got home from work and hubby and nephew were out doing yardwork, so I joined in. I raked all the crap on the sidewalks into a big pile for hubby to put in the yardwaste bin. Now they are both out there cutting. Hubby on the rider and nephew pushing a mower out back. Hey, that's my area. Oh well. In a little while I'm going shopping. Need to get a shower gift for Sunday. With all that I go thru on a daily basis dealing with a mentally handicapped sister and all the crap the kids throw my way, I highly agree that it's best to just turn it over to God. I ask him to guide me in how to deal with all of it. Hubby and I have learned to not take it so seriously and to laugh at it more. Because if I didn't, I would be walking right next to them. I'd be one step away from the looney bin door. I realize that he never gives us more than what we can handle, but please. Somedays I don't need all I can handle. Jane, we didn't make it to Chicago. Just to much going on here. However I am planning on making it to a wedding when ever it is decided on when and where it's going to be. that is my goal now and I'm not letting either one of my sisters stop me from this one. Have a great day.
  7. Morning Girls. I'm up and getting ready for work. Yuck. I had a very terrible eating day yesterday. Seemed like if it was glued down I wanted to eat it. So today is back to the grind stone. Other than that not much going on but I'm sure at some point my family will make sure that changes. Hopefully I will be able to get some pool time in today. Everyone have a great day. I'll check in later today.
  8. Morning. Jenn, I wish there was something I could say or do to take all of your troubles away. Just know that I keep you in my prayers. I'm hoping that all will calm down for you soon. Terri, I wish I was there. I got up this morning and took off for a mile walk. I got back just in time for a storm to hit and it hit hard. No damage but lots of thunder and lightning and buckets of rain. So right in the middle of it guess who takes off for church, yup that's me. I made it soaking wet after I had just took a shower. lol. Not sure if I will get any pool time today. They are calling for more storms later this afternoon. Like we need it. Everyone have a great day.
  9. I went and worked out his morning and remembered that it was my turn to take my nephew to his support group meeting. So I went home and got him and drove him all the way out there to find out that they decided to change the time to later. Oh great. So home we go. Sister and her hubby packed up to go spend the night at a friends farm. They can shoot the guns and ride the atv's. They took my nephew with them so that he can be kept busy and have a good time. My hubby left to go visit his twin about an hour drive from here. Yes, I have the house all to myself. I finish cleaning and I'm running the sweeper when my other nephew calls and wants to know if he can bring the girlfriend and her son and Abby over to go swimming. CRAP. I called hubby and asked if he could turn around and come and get me. LOL. So much for a nice peacefull day to myself. The job is in the department that we volunteer in. I already do quite a bit of the work anyway. Now I would just get paid for it. I still have to talk to the supervisor to find out if she is still interested in me and how they go about hiring. It is definately more money than I am making now, alot more. The problem would be in the hours. It would weekends and evenings. I told hubby I didn't think that would be a big problem since we are here all weekend. We travel during the week and I don't mind evenings because all the big wigs are gone home by then. The job I have now is less than minimum wage and is a no brainer, this new one is twice what I make now but a lot more work. Physically and mentally. But the paycheck would be nice. So we just need to wait and see what happens. Trying to decide if I want to go swimming with them or stay in where it's cool and quiet. Wish me luck.
  10. Work was a no-brainer tonight. No one showed up. So I left early. By a half hour.
  11. How come I never see Judy on Facebook? Are you stealth?
  12. Judy got in her pool:hurt: It's just to darn cold for me.:incazzato:Hopefully tomorrow the sun wil come out and I can go swimming all day. Judy, I was good with it till you got to the angel food cake and strawberries and cool whip. Yummmmm Yum.
  13. Debating on wether to go swimming or not. There are a few pop up showers around. I'll think about it. Has Heather just completely left us? I haven't seen or heard a word from her. Not even an update on the baby. Oh well. Kat on vacation. That sounds like a wonderful thing. Jenn, hope you are getting your house done in time for everyone. I hope all goes well. I made some chicken salad today so I guess that is what is for lunch. Or leftover spaghetti from last night. Hmmmm. Make it a good one. I was just getting ready to send this when on the news they reported that a infant was left in a car for 7 hours. I hope those parents get put in jail. I don't care if it was an accident. No excuses.
  14. Story Time. A couple of months ago, Hubby and I joined a fitness center that has been here for about 7 years. It turns out that alot of people I go to church with are also members there and my nephew was telling that a lot of people he works with also go there. Well anyways, there is this guy that is always there on the treadmill when I get there. There are 4 treadmills, 2 and 2 and he is always on the back one by the wall. I take the one next to him because these 2 are the ones that have the digital readouts that is very extensive and I like that. So I get up there and start walking and we are both keeping pace pretty good, however after awhile he will kick it up and before I know it he is running. Just makes me want to trip him. He runs for about 3 minutes and than winds it down. We are back to our same pace. Every know and than I get a good wiff of him and have to hold my breath for a few seconds till the fans pass by again. So, this morning we get there and sure enough there he is again. I get on the treadmill and off I go with my MP3 player going. Walk, walk, walk. Love it. I get a whiff, yuck. That's ok. It just reminds me that he's there for a purpose and that I need to be jealous of him. Now mind you this guy is probably in his early 60's and if I say so myself, looks like he would be a nice catch for someone,(maybe me in the future). So, he's winding down and I happen to look over at his monitor to see how far he goes and yup, there it is in flaming red color, 27.1 miles. OH MY GOD. I'm complaining about my measly mile that I do when I go there. Holy crap. If I wasn't is such awe of him doing that I'd trip him. Ok, no more whining for me. I'm gonna get on that treadmill and keep reminding myself that it ain't so bad.
  15. Good Morning. Hubby and I are up and getting ready to go to the gym. Lucky me. I also have to work later this afternoon. So not sure if there will be any pool time. We had storms this morning and they may hit again today. But we had a good day with Abby yesterday in the pool. She has so much fun and is a crack up. One thing I keep noticing though is she is pushing the life-jacket issue. She started to get in the pool and than told me that she was only going to sit on the step. After about 30 seconds she got up and went over and put her jacket back on and got in the pool again. She's trying to grow up too fast. Kat, How scary. I worry everytime Hubby takes the Harley out. Like you, I do alot of praying each time he does. Thank goodness Rick had is guardian angel with him on that ride. Everyone have a great day.
  16. Michelle, the glasses look great on you. I really like them. Calling it quits early tonight. I'm really tired. Have a good one.
  17. Looks like we might be back here. Dang site. I hate when it is down. Off to go swimming. Have a great day.
  18. Laura, loved the pics. And the picture from Jnae was to precious. Judy, I agree. I wish Heather would check in here. I also sent a gift and have no idea if she received it or a neighbor did.
  19. Back from our shift at the hospital and it was kind of a slow night. So we got to leave a little early. While we were there one of the regular girls is on vacation and so they brought in the part time lady. She put in her notice and will be quiting in the next 2 weeks. So the supervisor was in the dept. and they were going over the schedule and talking about hiring someone to take the place of the girl leaving. Well, you guessed it. She asked me if I would be interested in the job and she was serious about it. I laughed at first till I realized that she meant it. Hubby wasn't in the room when all of this was going on and all I could think of is that he's just going to $#%& his pants. And he just about did. After the shock of it he asked me what I thought. I have a lot to think about. Alot to think about. Michelle, I hope you had a wonderful day.
  20. Haydee, are you planning for next May for the wedding? Not saying that I'm invited (yet). But I will get my calendar marked and start saving for the trip.
  21. Happy Birthday Michelle:party:
  22. Checking in before I head off to work. Kat, you and I think alike. I wasn't going to voice my opinion, but I think the first one is my favorite and I agree with all that you said about it. But anyway she goes, Haydee will be gorgeous. Long day ahead and I'm very tired. I'll probably take a nap bfre we head in for our volunteer shift. Have a great day.
  23. Haydee, That dress is gorgeous and you would look awesome in it. No, I mean stunning.
  24. He did his rehab about 3 months ago but when he got out he thought he could go it alone. So he never went to any meetings or followed up. So now he is paying for that mistake. Right now he is weighing his options for a sponsor. He has met one guy that he feels a connection with. He's gonna see how it goes. Believe me, I have my rules for him living here and he knows what they are and the first step over them and he is out. It's a long and sad story about the rest of his family and I don't want to tell it in this room. A real big shock to him was his girlfriend giving her ring back to him, it was a real shock and eye opener to him. So I'm hoping that this will be one good reason for him to stay straight. He's so afraid of losing her. She actually is the best thing that could happen to him but he learned that he's not to be hiding anything from her again. Thanks for the links, I definately will be reading them. Have a safe trip and I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
  25. Thanks Jane. Busy day ahead of me. Getting my house cleaned this morning. I guess I should say, I'm cleaning my house this morning. Than I am meeting a bunch of girls for lunch at Appleby's. And than I have to work tonight. Terri, I know you are on vacation. I'm just wondering how things are going with the family. My nephew is on his 3rd day of going to his support group meetings. That was one of the stipulations of him staying here. He has to attend a meeting everyday. They actually told him he needs to do 90 meetings in 90 days. Long road ahead of us, not to mention dealing with my sister. She's walking a real thin line with me right now. Real thin. OK, back to the real life for me. I still have my struggles. It just sucks that I have to realize that I have to diet the rest of my life. I know I can stray a little but not go off the deepend. But I know that I will always have to watch what I eat. So starting today. here is my reminder................................. It's CTCD. Make it a good one.
