Ha ha, looks like I'm late to the party, oh well. Trust me ladies, especially in our youth, finding a woman that wants sex & is not going to play games or see how many hoops they can make us jump through is a really good thing, and somewhat rare too. So even if you do have some extra skin, we ain't saying squat. We are just happy to have some regular action, & if it's NSA then that's even better.

I am so glad you acknowledge God to be your source of help through this. Your relationship to Him is your strength. He has been mine through cancer, surgery, and many a conflict.
I will tell you something now that I seldom talk about. I am so not proud of this. I left my wife for a 5 year period many years ago. It wasn't over her weight, the young woman I had during this period was heavier than her. I left her because I wanted to be bad, I was mad at God because I thought He was not backing me up in the battles that I was having pastoring churches. I blamed God for letting unruly church people rip me up and wanted to get back at Him.
My dear wife was devastated but kept her faith. All during this time my heart ached. I could never find complete happiness, never get drunk enough, wild enough, never eat my way out of feeling bad for my wife and daughter. I drew up divorce papers with a lawyer and gave them to her. She signed them but I never turned them in. I loved my girlfriend but not enough to overpower my conscience. When my daughter became pregnant it was my wake up call. I left my girlfriend and asked God to forgive me. He was right there with open arms. I am in tears right now thinking about it.
My wife took me back very soon after she realized that I was sincere. We rebuilt our lives and our marriage became stronger than it was before. My daughter had a beautiful girl who has been a great joy to me and everyone she meets, a special girl who loves God and has a heavy calling on her life. My wife and I went through WLS together and are enjoying our new slimness in Florida, serving God with my daughter and her daughters.
Kentucky Girl, I've shared this with you to encourage you to not lose hope. I put my wife through hell. Her heart broke a hundred times while I tried to harden mine. God never let loose of the vision He had for our marriage. She never lost her faith and down deep I never lost mine as hard as I tried to.
Please don't let your circumstance keep you from eating and taking care of yourself. Take care of the body God has given you and nourish the new body He has in store for you. Take care of yourself as a service to Him, let Him bless you. Remember, He loves you more than your husband ever did or ever could.
My wife and I will take you to prayer every day. Stay in the Word, my dear sister. You'll get through this dark time.

On November 29th marked 2 years since I had my VSG done. How quickly time flies! I am 83lbs down from my surgery weight, and 122lbs down from my highest weight. I went from wearing a size 20/22 at my highest the wearing a size 4/6 and xs/s tops. I actually dropped a little below my goal and have been easily maintaining for the last 6 months. I was a slower loser, but I reached my goal in 18 months and couldn't be happier! I have never regretted having the surgery done and have always felt like it was the best thing that I have EVER done for myself. I feel so great and would do it again in a heartbeat!

Anesthesia causes a lot of people to retain Water. My scale was higher immediately after surgery for almost a week. Then, I dropped several pounds pretty quick - nearly a pound a day. Then, I stopped for four weeks. Just keep doing what you know is right. It will come off. I know it is hard to not judge it by time frames, but when you look back, you will wonder why you were worrying so much in the beginning. I was so bothered by my early stalls. Now, I really don't care because I know the weight will drop eventually.

I'm not holding out a lot of hope for my arms, they've always been huge and saggy. Think my insurance would consider an arm reconstruction medically necessary if the sound of the flab flapping around hurts my ears?

SunnyCox got a reaction from Happydash in Taco Casserole
I made the taco casserole from the Bariatric Foodie blog in the link below. It was DELICIOUS!. I made myself a small bowl, and I broke up three tortillas chips to spread on the top to give it some crunch. My family enjoyed eating it with chips like nachos. I parceled out the left overs into small tupperware bowls and ate it the next two days. It keeps really well.
    meat (whatever you use)

1 small zucchini, diced (I leave the skin on for extra fiber)

1 small yellow squash, diced (same deal)

    1 small onion, diced

    1 clove of garlic minced

1 envelope of taco seasoning mix

1 can black Beans (I used the spicy kind), drained and rinsed

    1 can fat-free refried beans

1 can tomatoes and chiles (or canned diced tomatoes if you don't like the heat)

2 c. shredded Mexican blend cheese (you can do reduced fat or regular but NOT fat free!)

    Optional toppings:
    Unflavored Greek yogurt

    Salsa

    Directions:

In a sprayed pan, sautee veggies with garlic until they are softened. Drain any excess liquid and transfer to a bowl.

Brown ground meat, drain and then transfer to the same bowl and mix with canned beans and tomatoes and chiles.

Mix in taco seasoning thoroughly and then transfer mixture to a 13x9 casserole dish.

Evenly spread out fat free refried beans on top (this may be easier if you heat them in a microwave safe bowl for a minute or so.

Top with cheese and then bake in a 350 oven for about 30 minutes or until the cheese is oozy, melty and slightly browned.

Constipation - I need to take a stool softner every three days or so. It really helps.
I also get a hot/flushed feeling after I eat a little too much that lasts for up to an hour. I also get the hiccups after eating.

Deb IMO your dr was very rude to you
telling a patient certain things/how to eat differently, yes he is the dr and you do need to listen to him - but he doesn't have to give you a lecture
whatever he tells you, today tomorrow or ever, he doesn't need to be rude/mean to you - he could and should be a little more caring/and have a better repoir with you/his patient
in other words he should improve his bedside manner
losing over 100 lbs is so terrific -
he should have commented on your excellent weight loss - then nicely he could have advised you on what you feel you should be doing differently
IMO - for what is worth, you have been very successful
but you need/must listen to your dr.- even if he is a SOB
    good luck

    congrats on losing 101 lbs!
my doctor told me i should only eat 2 meals a day... so at least yours wants you to eat 3.
i am sorry to sound rude or mean, i don't have that intent.. but i have to ask.. why did you bother having surgery and why does everyone suggest for everyone else that you follow what your doctor says to a t... then you go get a checkup & blow off what your doctor says, because you think you know better?... i mean... why did you go to him in the first place, if you don't want to listen to him?
did you ask him why he wanted you to cut back on your food intake?.. personally, i don't let my doctor leave the room until he answers all my questions to my satisfaction. i do my own research about things online & i come to forums like this & then i ask him why he wants me to do or take certain things.. and i tell him right then if i'm willing to do it or not. lol i mean.. i want him to know what i'm doing to myself, so he can help me.. he saved my life once already.. but i let him know when i'm not comfortable with something or if i don't understand or whatever.
if you go the medical route, then you have to believe that the doctors are supposed to be there to help you & there's a reason he wants you to eat the way he said....
take my opinion cum grano salis (with a grain of salt)..

I don't think you can go wrong with Dr. Garcia or Dr. Ponce. The major surgeons discussed on this forum are all excellent. Here are some things that may help you make a decision outside of surgeon experience & complication rate:
Where will you recover? Who will take care of you after surgery? Is it a friendly/private environment (especially if you are bringing someone to stay with you)?
If you are going alone, is anyone else from the forum going to have surgery near the dates you want that you can become friends with before and after surgery?
