  3. hey everyone gongrats to you all! I myself have been concidering lapband and i went to a seminar and the surgon said with this specific wls that most people ony lose 50 lbs over a 2 years and that was real discourging bc i need to loose well over 50 lbs so i was wondering who has lost more then 50lbs and how long did it take you to get there?

Thankyou so much for your advice and answers. on 5 when you said about feeling embaressed and hihing it from your friends lol i feel the same way i did not plan on telling them and just let them think what they want lol and in my family obbesityis also a huge problem wich is why my mother and i are both wanting to do this. I hope my insurance covers it bc im so young and only a freshman in college wich means im broke. lol but thanks again for all your help! so ware should i start? iguess i should call my insurance and find out if they pay for it or will a doctor do that?
  6. hello everyone, I am 18 and have a bmi of 40 i am really wanting to get the lap band im sooo confused! i really dont even know ware to start. my mother and i are both wanting to have the surgery but i would really like to see the advice from you all. so i have a few questions! 1. can you still get pregnant with the lapband? 2. what are the major risk, and has anyone ever died from it? 3. what foods can you NEVER eat again? 4. does medicaide and medicare pay for it? 5. do you think i am to young for it? 6. how much would it cost out of pocket? 7. do you regret it? 8. why lapband? 9. do you think you could have lost the weight without it? 10. if medicaid does pay for it what is the conditions? thanks everyone who reads and answers my questions you all are a inspiration to me!!!
