  1. I find that I can eat anything that I want, but I have defiantly slowed down in weight loss. I just broke a three month stall and lost nine pounds this month so I am thrilled! You can have anything you want, but just don't go overboard.
  2. I went from a size 26-24 or triple XL to a size 10 and a large-medium shirt. Love this sleeve! I hope to eventually be a size six!
  3. Yes I feel the same way. It is getting better, but it takes a while.
  4. I had this problem too, thankfully mine went away after about sixty pounds lost! Good luck!
  5. I did have my first drink within this time period. Didn't have any problems, but it did affect me faster. I have been drinking to much lately and have decided to stop before it becomes a problem. I haven't lost any weight since June, and I believe it is because I have been drinking those empty calories. I would stay away from it if I were you!
  6. yes this is totally normal. I wanted to strangle anyone who even mentioned food. you will get through it...and so will your family.
  7. yes, mine went from being an irregular 33-40 day sometime more cycle....to being on the day 28 day cycle. I do seem to have a heavier period in the beggining of the cycle then before, but the length is the same. hope it gets better for you...probably all of the hormones that have been stored in your fat for all this time that is finally being released and reaking havoc with your body.....I'm sure it will get better!
  8. my hospital and doctor was 2.5 hours away...I wanted the surgery, that is where my insurance said I would be covered...that is where I went, nuff said you want it honey, then travel
  9. you should still get it....you said you called one of the hospital, try the other one. the testing they might be talking about is the blood work, ecg, and the pre op testing that the hospital does right before your surgery. I would go down to the hospitals in person with all of your paperwork that you have. this is important, and people are more willing to help you when you are right there in their face vs over the phone. dont take no for an answer!
  10. dude...u r sooo naughty
  11. I have donated twice since surgery. they test your blood before you donate to make sure you arent anemic. I havent had any problems with it...except for the fact that I needed to chill for a while after I donated the big one (2-pinter) once. I wont donate that much at once again, I will stick to the little one pint instead
  12. have you lost any weight so far? sorry that it isnt working out for you. I am a year out and still only able to eat about 1/2 cup of food in a sitting.
  13. as for the reflux, I used to get it everyday before the sleeve, since I had it I havent gotten reflux but 2 times....and the major thing that detracts from the reflux is that the pumps that create the acid in the stomach are almost all removed, so you have alot less acid preduced. I am soooo happy that I got this sleeve!
  14. I changed to the sleeve because of all the complications that there is with the band, as well as the fact that you have to keep going in to have it filled and adjusted....I wanted to just go it, have it done and over with...alot of people decided on the band because it is reversable...well I dont want my weight loss to be reversable....I want it permenent....lol good luck!
  15. I am so sorry I want to cry for you. I hope things turn around for you... all I can say is to save up the money as best as you can, mabye finance the rest. this surgery can change your life! ((hugs))
  16. if you cant get anything else down then I would say go for it. I loved the crystal light water flavors they have. I dont do anything but splenda and regular sugar or honey now. you will be fine!
  17. I did the same thing only spit it out once it was mush. sounds like you are recovering very well. congrats!
  18. I did for about the first 4-5 months. I started taking lactaid with my lactose foods. I now dont have this problem anymore....thank God because I am a dairy-holic. I hope that things will change for you too....have you tried taking lactaid?
  19. I am not pre-op, but I know that I was able to deal with it by finding other things to do when I got upset...one of them being coming on this web site to vent....you will be fine!
  20. I cheated too on my pre op diet, you will be fine...just try harder you can do this!!!
  21. I have gout too....if you stick to a low purien (not sure if I spelt that right) diet it will help with flare ups. avoid cured meats, like bacon and jerky, especialy deli meats. avoid red meats and alcohol as well. I still have some of these things, in moderation, but I havent had any flare ups since I started limiting those sourses of protien. hope this helps!
  22. my opinion is that you are not going to be able to have them after the surgery...it just plain hurts to try (yes I have) so try to kick that habit as soon as you can. it will be hard at first...but you can do it!
  23. sorry it will be so long...you will get there! (hugs))
