    Gall Bladder Surgery Today

Actually the NP that does my fills thought I had a slip so she unfilled me and had me get an upper GI. It is funny because the radiologist asked me how much I was throwing up etc. I told her that I wasn't. Turns out my band is fine, Dr. Weaver [ my surgeon ] sent me to get an ultra sound on the gallbladder. What was happening...I thought I had reflux because I could only eat 3 or 4 bites and I would have terrible back pain. The only thing I could eat without pain was store bought peanut butter crackers and cup of soup. Shocked the surgeon because peanut butter is high in fat and she told me that agrivates the organ. Go figure...anyway it turns out I have gallstones. The info I got about the quick weight loss/gallbladder I found in this forum. I'm on here just about every night learning all I can about the band. That is why I didn't expect restriction the first fill. It took me about 4 or so fills. Lost a ton of weight around 130 lbs., around 18 months. Got greedy, had to have some removed yadda, yadda, yadda. Back and forth. So now they want me to have the surgery first before I get filled again. Anyway I'm probably rambling...I want you to know Cindy I look through the forum and anytime I see your sign I read what you have to say. Take care
  6. I'm with you RobbieGirl! If he is the one I'm thinking of [ Memphis ], I went with Dr. Weaver and couldn't be happier. From what I heard....he has no bed side manner.

    Gall Bladder Surgery Today

Hey Cindy I'm glad to see your post and that you are doing so well. My surgery is scheduled for Monday the 5 th of March. I've been banded for 2 years now and always read that a bandster who loses a lot of weight in a short amount of time..the ol' gallbladder goes south. Mine did and I've been empty of fill for about a month now and I can eat like a "pig". The good thing is my surgeon said I could get a fill afterwards. Did they remove your fill for surgery? Margie

Is It The Band, Or Just Me?

Have you been under any stress? Tomorrow will be my 2 year bandiversary and for about the last 8 months I was in my sweet spot then all of a sudden...BAM...so tight I couldn't eat about only 2 or 3 bites. Went to get some taken out because I was under so much stress. Long story short, my gallbladder went south so I was totally unfilled I go to the doctor tomorrow to see when they plan to take it out. Called the doctor to see if I could get a fill and was told if the surgery is 4 to 6 weeks, I have to wait till after. If it is going to be 4 to 6 months then I can get one...I'm opting for 4 months, wish me luck. It's always a good thing to talk to your doctor

Dr. Weaver, Dr. Metz, Dr. Georgescu

I used Dr. Weaver for my surgery 2 years ago. She doesn't do the fills herself, her NP Vanessa does them. What she does is pull out the fluid, check it , put it back plus some for a fill. And yes she has you drink water before you leave. If you have a problem, she will fix it. I honestly don't know if they do floro, you could always ask....good luck.
  10. Be patient, right now you are healing. I've been banded almost 2 years and it took me around 5 fills to get to restriction. Right now you are going through "Bandster H#ll"!!! It will get better, I promise. Luv my band

Anyone have surgery in Memphis Tn

Hi Bethp...you are the reason I joined the forum. Feb. 23 will be my 2 year bandiversary [ not sure I spelled it right LOL ] I was banded by Dr. Weaver myself and I felt like she did a awesome job. I'm very pleased...I'm about 10 lbs from my goal, I started around 286, today I am proud to say I weighed 167 this morning. It is extremely hard work but well worth the effort. If there is anything I can do to help you on this wonderous journey let me know. Believe me, you won't be sorry with her. Good luck!
