  1. Congrats on your recent band. I was banded in MD also last Friday. I am feeling pretty good still a little sore. I tend to sleep with a pillow under me on my side and its seems pretty comfortable. I am a nurse I will say follow the rules your doctor gave at least for 2 weeks -6weeks because it is really important to heal properly. How is your appetite? Again congrats and keep in touch Preop wt: 218 Day of surgery: 209 Today: Who's knows I am still trying heal so I skip the the scale :-)
  2. Thamks for the comment. It is good to know someone else is in the same boat. I''ll keep in touch
  3. Hi Maryland Bandsters. I was banded Feb 16 feeling pretty good just a little shoulder pain. I do have question about my disappearing appetite. It is hard for me to get my protein shakes and water down because I am not hungry. Will this go away
  4. Hi guys wanted to check in earlier but connection was down. I had surgery on Friday Feb 16, 2007. It really went well but as I suspected the general sedation did me in I am now starting to not feel so sleepy. I am still having a little shoulder pain but that is it. I am so not hungry I do not know if its psychological or not but I am having a hard time getting the protein shakes down not because of nausea and vomiting but because my appetite is gone. I did call my dr and was told that it should come back(my appetite). I had to set a stop watch to remind me to eat well drink you know protein shakes and clear liquids for 2 weeks post op. I was just wandering has anyone experience this before. I don't know how much weight loss yet because it was suggested by my dr not to weight until 1month post surgery. He said this time was for healing. But my husband was like honey your face is getting so small. I am a little concern because I know I am not getting in enough proteins.
  5. I being banded this Friday and I am also a nurse. The closer it gets the more scared I become. It difficult being the patient this time. I don't want to be sick with side effects from the procedure. But I am trying to keep in mind that there may be side effects but they will probably be temporary. Good luck Friday!
  6. Sherilynn I hope you feel better soon. I have not been banded yet. 1 week left to go. I am not looking forward to being sick. But I know it sounds easier said then done but keep the end result in mind.
  7. I am scheduled to be banded next Friday Feb 16, 2007. I am so terrrfied. I do not want to be sick I am feeling so good now. Lost about 20lbs on the presurgery diet. Energy is good but the more I read about the side effects experienced by my fellow bandsters I get scared. I have lost large amounts of weight all of my life. But I can't seem to keep it off. I think band is so drastic for me but after having my son last year I decided to lose weight once and for all. I have the typical high blood pressure and acid reflux. My acid reflux is bad already before the band. How worst is it going to get? I think this site is great I will keep you posted as I go. And for anyone locally in Baltimore. Sinai Hospital program is the best. They really prepare you with accurate information about the band. Current LBS. 213 Goal LBS: 155 Scheduled to be banded:Feb 16,2007
