    Tomorrow Is The Day!

Terrific. You're never going to regret your decision to change your life. Congratulations. Let us know how it goes. By the way, I had drains and a catheter after my tummy tech surgery. They are not as bad as they seem.

Because everyone's post count was messed up in the switch over. It's been corrected. Mine was saying over 10000 posts which certainly wasn't correct.
  4. I think you're doing pretty good. You're not fucked. It's not easy though, nothing worthwhile ever is.

    December Fitness Challenge

The bad thing about posting links is that they aren't working on the mobile apps.
  6. You're welcome. I'm glad to know people are finding it and reading it.
  7. We went to chili's last night. They have their "light menu".....everything is 675 calories or less. Bloody hell 675 calories?!?! That's light? I guess it is compared to the rest of their stuff.

Lol...well as long as I'm not lost and can lick my own jiggly bits I'm happy.

    December Fitness Challenge

Alright...we're off to a good start. Today was a swimming day for me so I swam 600 meters, ran 1 mike and did 60 walking lunges. All I can say about those lunges are....pure hell. Total torture, but they work those glutes like nothing else.

    December Fitness Challenge

You could download map my run or map my ride on your smart phone. Both are the same. They will track your distance and speed whether biking, walking or running.
  11. One day, not too long after I got sleeved, one of my coworkers was blabbing in and on about how healthy he was eating and how he wanted to lose a few pounds. All the while I'm putting his lunch into my fitness pal to add up the calories. 1200! Jeezus it's hard not to say something. As time went on it got easier for me to go back to ignoring other people's plates.
  12. For me it was 2 things....I was a huge (pun intended) John Candy fan. He died at 43.... I was 43 and 30 pounds heavier than him. Also, my grandfather died of heart failure at 44. The thought that I might be in my last year of life scared me into action. Now I feel like I have many more years to go. When I die, it won't be from being out of shape to too fat to live.
  13. I didn't read that in anyone's post. I think we've all been right where you're at.....having other people try to question our food choices. And I and others mentioned that we also have an urge to question the food choices of those around us....mostly I think we were referring to the non-sleeved people in our lives who eat like they will never see food again.

    3 Year Anniversary

Sweetums....congratulations. 3 years and still doing great. No one ever said it was going to be easy but you are still hanging around here and setting a great example of success. Your before and afters tell a great story.

Great. I hope you feel comfortable with that choice. I think you will be very happy with it.

    Discipline

Did your doctor give you a food progression plan? Or a list of foods you should eat? Or more specifically....what where the instructions? Certainly it was not to test your sleeve so early out to see what can be tolerated. You're right....alot of discipline is involved. I too never had any dumping or slimes....or met a donut my sleeve wouldn't hold. Some of us can hold way more than others.....but just because we can eat it....doesn't mean we should. This is where weighing and measuring portions can really help until you get a good feel for a proper intake. And while you may be on your calorie goal, you're eating so few calories you really need all the good and healthy nutrition you can get out of those calories. Remember you're no where close to being fully healed. Concentrate on good nutrition until you're closer to goal and closer to good health. Then bring back the treats that you feel you want and need....but within reason of course.

Corrected for you! If anyone else has this issue.... 1) Go to your Patient Profile 2) Make sure you have the correct surgery selected 3) Click save (that's what did the trick.) 2 other quick things Alex....on the main site....when I try to start a new topic or reply to a thread, sometimes I can't see what I'm typing. The text just doesn't show up as I'm typing although it's there....because when I hit "post" it works. I'm using an iPad but this is happening on the main site, not the mobile site. Also, if I go back to edit....same thing, I can't see my original text to edit it.

    Gobble! Gobble! Turkey Day Pics!

My problem with the occasional biscuit is that it also needs occasional gravy. And then it needs to be more than occasional.

    Gobble! Gobble! Turkey Day Pics!

Us food addicts notice certain things.....biscuits, bacon, oversized piece of pumpkin pie given to a young child....things like that.

What To Do With Leftover Turkey?

    Turkey chili.
  25. Since I was doing most of the cooking.....there was no one to tell me anything. I must admit, I'm more guilty of being the food police these days to others. When I see someone eating way too much of the nasty unhealthy food they shovel in their mouths....it's all I can do not to tell them how many calories they're eating. I have to bite my tongue because I don't want to be that person.
