  2. I was banded on 10/14/2011 since then I have lost 16 pounds. I am coming up on my second fill the 23 of Nov. I am excited because I am really not losing right now. I seem to be bouncing back and forth with two pounds, lol that always happens. Wish me luck folks!!
  3. In a couple weeks you will feel much better. I had mine done the 14th of October and have had one fill. I feel incredible considering how bad I felt and all the pain. YES it is more than uncomfortable for some of us. I too had the dry heaves for the first two days UGH but all is well now!! Good luck!!
  4. Congrats!! It was more pain than I thought too, but it was gone in a couple of weeks. I never expected the pain, but I realize that was kind of niave too. I should have known, considering what they have to do to get the band in place. I am glad you had a pretty desent experience!!

    Surrealness at Walmart

Wow Congrats!! I hope that happens to me one day!!
  8. That is how I feel about my brother, he fought his weight his whole life, and had been really sick for the last 10 years. He would be proud for me, as I am sure your Mom and Auntie would be too!! I am not religious either, but I believe our passed folks are still with us in spirit. I am a little nervous because I have gained 2 pounds. I have been consuming more, but I swear I have been keeping the calories under 1200. I just went back to work yesterday so maybe that will help. Plus a little restriction should help too.
  9. I hit enter twice and got two posts. UGH
  10. How are you doing? Thanks for adding me as a friend. : )

  11. Thank you! I am much better and you are right, I know my brother would have been proud of me to try my hardest to avoid his fate. I am getting my first fill tomorrow. Not much restriction right now.
  12. I felt this Pop last night in the area around my port. It hurt for a second. Then I fell back asleep. I woke up this morning, a little sore in that area. I just had my staples out yesterday, so I called my surgeons office and the nurse said that woman have a round ligament or something like that that hangs on the port and what I felt was it popping lose. I feel fine today so maybe all well. She also said that when I lose more weight it will quit doing that.

YES, I felt regret right after, but give it time. It is a life changing surgery. I am just now on day 11 and I am already done with the regret. I look forward to the future more than ever! Keep your head up.

    FRUSTRATED AND UPSET!!!!

I am new to this too, I was banded the 14th of October. I think that we are so use to failure in dieting that it is hard to have faith that this will work for us. I am feeling the same pressures and fears you are. I lost until I started eating again now I am standing still. I fear the scales will never budge, and I get on them each morning (bad Idea, I know but I can't help it) I am trying to increase my exercise and walking on the treadmill. I feel like everyone is watching every bite I put in my mouth. I have not had any fills yet , I felt restriction at first from the swelling I guess, but not now. I do not yet know when I will get my first fill. But I think it needs to be soon. Good luck and keep your head up, you will succeed.
  17. I was banded the 14th of this Month, Oct. I am feeling better and walking on the treadmill. It is slow going but I am losing weight. YAY

    introduction

Thanks Everybody, I am doing better. I almost don't remember writing the above. I have a really hard time coming off the effects of the meds, I got real sick on the dalotta, and then they gave me morifphine. I hate pain meds, they make me really messed up. I have been trying the different foods, but either pureed or really soft. I wasn't able to drink soda before the surgery so that is not anything I will miss. The gas is even getting better. I am spending time outside, it is getting cool now and my doggie has missed me. Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. I will get my staples out next wednesday and then we will see how real life is.
  19. I had my surgery on October 14th. My procedure took place at St. Edwards Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas. I came in at ten in the Morning, we had a long wait in the waiting room which had no tv. I was finally called back at about 2:00. I really can not tell you details, because I have very low tolerances to medication. I know that I had the surgery and a hernia repair. My husband was with me every step of the way. I woke up in the room. They were on me to walk pretty quick but I am not sure if it was the first day. For me there was a lot of pain, they gave me delotta. It gave me dry heaves. Which really hurt. Took two tries before I realized it was the meds making me sick. the first twenty four hours they gave me small med cups of broth. Then they let me have fluids. The second day in the hospital, I got the news that my brother had died. He had suffered from obesity and heart disease for years. It wasn't a shock but it was devastating. He was also a lot of my reasoning for having the surgery. He had his first heart attack at my age. (Rest in Peace Jerry Fox) So I had a hard time and when the doc on call came in he asked me if I was able to go home, I told him I did not think I was. So I stayed another day. The next day they had me walk alot and gave me different pain meds and I was able to go home.

2 YEARS late and I am still fighting the the FAT fight!

my doctor told me that at two years, the band needs to be emptied for a month, then start your fills again. He said this will reestablish the feeling of fullness, and make it like it was in the beginning. Has your doctor ever mentioned this?
