  1. I keep flirting with onederland. It's frustrating but I keep on trying. I'm using myfitnesspal to log my food and that is helping me see what I'm doing wrong. I'm hoping that tomorrow I will still be under 200 lbs. Keep your fingers crossed!
  2. Soccermom17, I too have had my first fill. I have noticed that there is some restriction but not a lot. Congratulations on the NSV's!! Those are the best I think! I have been shopping in my closet since I'm down two sizes. I love it!
  3. Hightower, I will call my nutritionist today and ask. Thanks for your reply! Shirley, that's a great idea. I have been writing down what I eat in the little book the staff gave me. I think fitness pal sounds great. I'll check it out today. Thanks for your reply!
  4. I was given no guidelines by my doctor or nutritionist about calories or protein. I was told to eat 2-3 meals a day 1/2 cup only. Fill my plate with mostly protein and then veggies. I'm getting less than 500 calories a day. I'm starving and I've had 1 fill so far. I'm eating 3 meals today because I'm so hungry. Is this how it's supposed to be?
  5. I hope your fill goes ok today. I too have to drive 2 hours to my doctor. I wish I had thought of that before I had my surgery.
  6. You're doing great! I haven't started exercising yet. I hate to exercise! I'm going on a cruise tomorrow and I'm worried about all the food that will be available to me that isn't available now. I'm going to walk a lot so I hope that helps. Also my dietician said I could indulge in some drinking since I'm on vacation. I just hope I don't gain too much weight. Cyndy
  7. Hi! My doctor told me I would be on regular food by my cruise but didn't want to wait. I guess I should call the office and see if it's ok to start this soon. I was just worried I would get on the ship and not be able to eat anything but mush!
  8. Welcome! I was banded on Oct 12 also. It's so exciting to get on the scales and see it move downward. Good luck on your journey. Cyndy
  9. Good morning! I started eating real food this weekend. I know I'm not supposed to yet but I'm leaving for a cruise next week and I wanted to see if I could tolerate it. I had some grilled chicken breast. It did taste good. I chewed it a lot and ate slowly. So far no problems. Has anyone else skipped ahead to real food yet? I was banded on Oct. 12th.
  10. Congratulations Kp87! I'm sorry you had so much trouble at the hospital. I have more pain at my port incision than the others. It's also the largest incision. Good luck to you as you lose your weight! Cyndy
  11. I've been eating some cream Soups like cream of potato that I puree, tomato Soup, cream of wheat, instant mashed potatoes. Some baby food fruit like applesauce. All in all I haven't been that hungry. Last night I had boiled chicken breast and let me tell you it was delicious! I cut it into tiny pieces and chewed it a lot. I also had some watermelon. I took my time with it and really enjoyed eating it. Hope this helps!
  12. My largest incision is 1" and that is where the port is positioned. My 3 other incisions are very small. I hope they heal nicely since they are on my upper abdomen. I'm ready for food that has a little more consistency than Soup. I think I'll make some mashed potatoes tonight and see where that gets me. I even thought about eating a scrambled egg but I don't want to rush things too much.
  13. Arlene, yes I'm on mushies now. I started on Wednesday. I'm doing ok but having trouble eating slowly. I guess because I was so hungry. I read somewhere that you should use a timer when you first start eating. So I'm going to get me a timer. That's awesome that you've lost 19 lbs!! Congratulations! I started the liquid diet on Oct. 6 and I have lost 15 lbs. Since I started eating my weight has gone up and that's what I was worried about. It's time I start exercising.
  14. We were banded the same day and I too have gas pains still. I don't have it in my shoulder but on my left side under my ribs. I guess I'll keep with the gas-x strips. Good luck tomorrow!
  15. I had my post-op visit with my surgeon. He said everything is healing well. He also said I've lost 14 lbs since I started on this journey on Oct 6. I had surgery Oct 12. So I'm really happy. Now I'm trying to eat soft foods slowly. It's really hard for me to eat slowly, but I'm really trying. I need a timer to help me eat slowly. My doctor said I would be able to eat solid foods by Nov 3. I'm going on a cruise then and I really need to figure this eating slowly. What do you guys think? Should I be able to eat solids by Nov 3? Have a great day! Cyndy
  16. Sheriah, I used the gas-x strips and walked all over my house. I walked day and night and didn't get any sleep until the day after my banding. But I'm now a week out and I feel great! So it will pass. Good luck to you! Cyndy
  17. Hello! This is my second post. I just found this site today. I had my surgery Oct. 12. I'm still on my liquid diet and ready for some food even if it is soft food! I go see my surgeon tomorrow for my follow-up. I like him but I'm not crazy about my patient advocate. So we'll see how tomorrow goes. rose1956, I had to have blood work, EKG, an EGD, which is a scope into your stomach to see if you have a hernia. I think that was it. Good luck to you
  18. I was banded on Oct. 12 and I'm still on a liquid diet. My diet consists of Water and 3 Protein shakes a day. I was also on this diet for the week prior to my banding. So I'm really getting ready for something more. I go tomorrow for my post op appointment. I sure hope we can move this forward. Good luck to all! Cyndy
