Who Was Your Gastric Sleeve Surgeon

HI My Name is Kathy My surgeon is Dr scott Welle and his partner is Dr Jeffery Monash, they are both awesome. They do surgeries at both Tucson Medical Center and Northwest Hospital, which are both have recieved the Bariatric Surgery Excellance Award ,in Tucson Az and also hold monthly support groups, for bariatric patients,no matter what surgery they have had. I highly reccomend them

    Messed Up On Pre-Op Diet

the difference between surgeons is really fascinating.I didnt have to do a pre-op diet at all.I did have to eat lite the day before surgery and then of course nothing 10 hrs before.and I have at no problems.,but i should note that I had pretty much given up fast foods before I even went to the surgeon,I mean I still ate them every now and then but not like before where I had fast food three times aday.since surgery on March 10 I have lost 35 pounds.and its awesome!

    Progress Not Perfection... But.....

I think you are being to hard on yourself.I have always heard that when you do eat it is suppose to get your metabolism going.and if you dont eat ,your body thinks its going into starvation mode, and works and not letting you lose weight.I know it seems strange.I am never hungry and I have to think about eating and making sure I get enough fliuds and Im positive that you are not alone with your struggles, just try to think positively and thats what this forum is for

    Whatcha eating today!!! Tuesday

My surgeon said i could start with some meats now.So i had saw on dr Oz,this guy would made chicken salad with mashed avocados instead of mayo (which I dont like anyway).so today I bought a couple of baked chicken breasts from the deli, and I thought why not try premade guacamole? I bought this brand called Yucatan, very good, chopped up the chicken very well, added salt and pepper to the chicken some garlic, and then a few tablespoons of the guacamole, mixed it very well, and let it sit in the fridge for a few hours. It was very good! my teenage daughter liked it also.So want something new to try.I reccomend this.

First off let me say welcome! I would have to say that what you are feeling is normal,I think everyone on this board has felt the same way you do.I had mine done on the 20th of March,I just went back to work this past Sunday.I know this might be hard to do ,but maybe not hang out with the family while they eat.go for a walk,or if you can go for a drive. By The Way,hope you are okay after all the tornados

    Tell Us your Story!

Hi My name is Kathy Live in Tucson, have lived here for 30 years.I am 53,single and have 3 children.I originally started this process about 3 years ago,and my insurance intially turned it down and I blew it off as I had other things going on at the time that were more important.Last year I decided to try again as I found out I am to have another grandson this May.I started out at 353lbs and I am 5ft1 inch.I was originally going to have a lapband, because the down time was really short,so I was seeing the surgeon doing all the nutrition visits withe the dietician and the surgeon decided to close up practice and move up to Phx.,His office sends my file to another dr, DRS Monash and Welle, which was the best thing that could have happened to me! After seeing Dr Welle and he described in detail all 3 surgeries I decided the VGS was the one I wanted,They submitted my claim to my ins.and it was approved the same day in a few hrs! I was estatic! I had my surgery on the 20of March and had my first post op yesterday,19lbs down. And Drs monash and Welle also have a supportgroup once a month that meets at TMC the first sat of the month from 1030-12 and there is a free Zumba class at the end.Any one can come regardless of what surgery they had and doesnt matter who did the surgery.Everyone is WELCOME
  25. I went to my surgeon today for my first post op.Ive lost 19 lbs since the 20th,date of my surgery Im excited!
