Hi, I am new to this forum.  I have not had the surgery yet.  I am having problems finding out what Medicare pays.  I am 47 years old and started gaining weight at 18.  I have steadily gained 10 to 15 lbs per year.  NO diet has ever worked for me.  The best I ever did was 40 lbs. with Nutra System.  I hit a plateau for 3 months and all Nutra System did was accuse me of eating things I wasn't supposed to instead of adjusting my calorie intake like they were supposed to do.  I kept the weight off for 6 months after and then gained all back and then some.
I have High Blood Pressure, Sleep Apnea, Fibormyalga, Acid Reflux, Arthritis, Disc degeneration and Sciatica.  I am now disabled.  I have problems with dressing my self, cleaning myself, walking, standing, lifting, exercise, ect.
I have researched Gastric Bypass for 15 years but insurance would not pay for it.  Now I hear that Medicare will pay for the Lap Band but I can't find out how much they pay and what I will need to pay.  Still researching and hope to get the Lap Band sometime by the end of this year or beginning of next year.
