hello december bandsters; it has been a long while since i was on LBT. i was banded 12/1/2011 and i started at 288 and today i weigh 196 so i lost 92 pounds. i feel absolutely fantastic and have had not problems with my band. I have 3.5 cc's so far.

Roseann - 92 pounds is awsome!!! I was also banded in december, 12/30/11 and am down 51, starting weight 256, current 205. I have 6 cc's in a 10 cc band. I have no problems with my band, but other issues that my doctor is trying to rule out, pancreas/gall bladder issues.

could you imagine how scared we would be if we didn't have the Lap Band Talk to guide us through the million questions we have? or this support system that you couldn't possibly get from a meeting once a month at the bariatric center. what a blessing each and everyone of you that open up on this forum. THANK YOU!

- being able to walk into a regular store and not say "excuse me miss, where is the plus size section?"
- this is a TMI but what the hell, being able to enjoy sex while being on top. did i say that out loud?

anything beats clear broth, Protein shakes and sugar free Jello. lol.
You are lucky that you and your husband are banded at the same time, you can go through it together and support eachother in your daily food intake. that seems like a great success story there. good luck to you both .

i am so happy, just heard from the doctor's office that my last appointment with my surgeon is this thursday and my pre-surgery admittance testing at the hospital is friday morning. i start my 2 week liquid diet on thursday. december 1st is just around the corner. i can't wait. can you see me smiling through the computer? i am smiling from ear to ear. i feel like a kid going to disney for the first time. i am so ready for this. i wish i did this ten years ago. but at 41, i am still young and have many many many happy years ahead of me.

i am 41 and i soooo wish i thought about doing this ten years ago. BUT, december 1st will be the 1st day of the second half of my life. my son is 11 and my daughter is 15 so my husband and i and the kids still have alot of good times ahead. good luck

My birthday is november 17th and that is the day i am supposed to start my two week liquid diet. my surgery date is December 1st, but my surgeon gave me the go ahead to have my birthday dinner and start on the 18th. i think he realized that i am going to have to miss thanksgiving so he figured he would give me my birthday. I wonder how thanksgiving is going to be? at least i can have some turkey broth lol. good luck fellow december bandsters. i was waiting patiently to see a December Bandsters post. i feel like it is just around the corner now.

I am going to take it one day at a time and i am going to tell my husband to hide the scale, because if he doesn't i would probably weigh myself everyday and i do not want to do that. This is forever now. this is not me going on weight watchers or Atkins and starting a diet for a wedding that is upcoming or a vacation, this is for my life and i am not going to think of this as a diet anymore. this is going to be the new me that learns to love herself, love her body and eat only good choices. i am going to say, how many Cookies have i already had to eat in my life, i know what that tastes like and after i swallow it i forget what it tasted like anyway. I am going to do this for life now. December 1st is fast approaching and Lap Band, i look forward to spending the rest of LONG life with you and i hope we can learn to live together in harmony and give eachother exactly what we need. my motto is ONE DAY AT A TIME. thank you all for your support. on this forum i have read many many posts from people that said that the two week pre-surgery diet is not a "liver shrinking diet". it is just the surgeons way to get you used to following a liquid diet. some people even said they didn't follow it and advised others that it wasn't a big deal if they didn't follow it. last night the dietician told us that yesterday she saw our surgeon and he was very upset. she said he just had a tough surgery where the patient did not follow the diet at all and they had so much trouble maneuvering around his liver and trying with difficulty to retract the liver to successfully complete the surgery. the patient's liver was hanging down too far to retract it. it took longer than it should and finally they were able to complete the surgery. she told us that the liver shrinking diet does reduce the amount of fat around the liver and around your stomach and is an imporant part of this process especially if you have a high BMI or a fatty liver. just thought i would share that story.

my date is december 1st, pretty close and that way i can give you one week notice of what to expect since i am starting everything one week before you. lol. i live in new jersey by the jersey shore. i am 41 and a wife and mother of a 16 yr old girl and 12 yr old boy. i am staring the pre surgery liquid diet next thursday. drop me a line, i would love to go through this together with you. i am also on Facebook.

me too. i work monday through friday 9-5 so i keep in open on my computer. as I am pre-surgery, i enjoy reading and knowing what i should expect after surgery from current bandsters. it is a great resource.

be able to wrap a regular size towel around my body after swimming and showering;
this is a big TMI if i ever heard one, but why not lol; feel confortable being on top during sex.
