  1. It took me a whole year from my original consultation to decide to do this. I am very pleased with the way things are going. My friends and relatives also tried to talk me out of it last year. When I finally decided in September that I was going to do it I only told a couple of people and told them straight out if they werent going to be supportive then I didnt need them in my life. I know it was harsh but I figured it was time to look after me for a change. They are still in my life and are being as supportive as they can. I appreciate their efforts. Let us know what you decide.
  2. I agree , you are eating too much. You should eat until you just feel satisfied not full. Havent had a fill yet but I did find last week I was hungry every couple of hours. What I did was spread out my allowed calories throughout the day to keep the hunger pains away. It worked and I am slowly losing weight and not getting ravenously hungry.
  3. Are you drinking enough water? Dehydration can cause headaches, constipation and low energy.
  4. Are you saying you only had a 3 day pre op diet? You wouldnt lose any weight in just 3 days. I think I may have misunderstood you. How much weight do you have to lose? I am really surprised you are starting the puree stage. I was on Clear liquids the first day and then full liquids for a week before I could start the pureed stage. On Saturday I start soft foods. I have been slowly losing weight over the past couple of weeks. I was 249 the day of my surgery and am down to 241 as of this morning.
  5. Wtg!! cant wait to go back to the gym! I have my post op appt tomorrow and hope he will give me the ok to go back.
  6. I suppose it could have been a defective band. It is good that the dr. found it so soon. Good luck with your surgery and keep us posted.
  7. I had a headache the first couple of days too. It does get better.
  8. I have a wonderful 4 year old rottweiler who thinks he is a lap dog. He is well over 100 lbs. I got him from the local OSPCA. He had been adopted out twice before and returned. As soon as my dh or I sit down he jumps up and sprawls across our legs. He loves my grandchildren (3 and 1) and lets them crawl all over him. Even lets the 3 year old ride him . Austin pretends he is a cowboy and Yoda is his horse. All my rottie needed was lots love. Not an aggressive bone in his body. We have had him for 2 wonderful years and cant imagine life without him.
  9. good to hear you got it sorted out. Take a deep breath and calm yourself down. Everything will be fine.
  10. Wow, I wouldnt be happy with that treatment at all. I think $300.00 although a lot of money would be worth it for your health and peace of mind. Find yourself a dr. who is going to listen to you and is genuinely concerned about your health. I know it is not going to be easy to find a new dr. but do some research, ask around and check the websites that rate dr.s. Let us know how you make out.
  11. I love cottage cheese with fruit and cinnamon . Yummy. I agree, it looks like you need more fruits and veggies in your diet.
  12. Congrats on the weight lost! I have my post op appt on Friday and I am hoping I will get the ok to go back to the gym. I am starting soft foods (egg salad, tuna salad etc) on Saturday. But for now I am still pureeing everything I eat.
  13. I am on pureed foods right now and find I am starting to get hungry in between meals. I am still sticking to my allotted amount of food so I dont do anything to harm my band or my chances of losing weight. I start soft food on Saturday so I am hoping that may help a little.
  14. I am self pay as well but hernia repair was included in the $16,000.
  15. Thank you! I was hoping one of the moderators would get wind of this thread and do something about it. Most of us are here for support and motivation. Especially us newly banded. And for the most part that is exactly what we get on this forum which is why I like it so much. I hope things will get back to normal now.
  16. If you dont like greek yogurt, cottage chees has just as much protein. I love it with a bit of sugar free jam and some cinnamon.
  17. You are an inspiration to us newly banded!
  18. Lots of hugs coming your way! Keep us posted.
  19. wishing you lots of luck on your surgery day!
  20. it was around day 9. I just remember I was watching tv and I burped. I kind of caught me by surprise. Mostly gas has been coming out the other end..lol
  21. Check with your surgeons office. I know mine gave me a list of people I could hire in case I had to be alone. It was in my pre op package.
  22. Lots of hugs coming your way! Keep us posted.
  23. I couldnt burp either until this week. I had my surgery on the 19th of October.
