  1. Oh yes, had them since surgery, still do! I think it is funny, my husband laughs at me too!
  2. My husband is diabetic and I find their recipes are fantastic, low carb, low fat/sodium too. I have the Diabetic Gourmet cookbook, so many great recipes. Just do a search online for diabetic recipes and give some a try.
  3. Wow...fantastic job, you look amazing!
  4. I like the chicken stocks instead of broth, they seem to have a bit more flavor. I get mine at Costco but they have it at regular grocery stores, in the cardboard cartons. They are nice cause you can reseal them and put in the fridge. I got the Rachel Ray one once and it was tasty!
  5. Wow...what a difference! You look great, keep up the fantastic work!
  6. I would call your Doc and see what he says, you need more than you are getting. Best of luck for a simple solution!
  7. I have been doing Zumba 2 nights a week since June and 2 nights of weight training/cardio. I went to my Zumba class last night and after class my instructor Robyn said to me...in front of the whole class how good I looked. She touched my waist and hips and said how much of a difference she sees. I felt soooo good for the rest of the night...a natural high for sure! Yaaaaay me!!!
  8. I did the same thing...completely freaking out the day before but I was suprisingly calm the day of surgery. You will do great, it is normal to be a bit scared/excited, you are having major surgery! Hugs to you and best wishes for a speedy recovery and on to the losers bench!!!!
  9. Best of luck to you, you will do great!
  10. Thanks Suzanne for sharing your inspirational story. I am sure many of us ( including me) are wondering how it will be years down the road.
  11. I am 6 months out and still eat very little bread, if any at all. I leave room for all the good stuff. Bread, pasta, rice just seem to fill me up...no satisfying feeling at all.
  12. Yes, right on track, you will b just fine!
  13. I was feeling great 1 month out but everyone is different. I was at the gym just walking the treadmill 3 1/2 weeks out. I had no problem with the food restrictions wherever I went, it isnt hard to do, just some planning involved. I went to a funeral 2 weeks out and have some very runny refried beans ( I mixed some salsa in them) and had no problems. It was only a couple of spoons full but did ok. I dont think you will feel like crap but...Best of luck, you can do this!
  14. Wow, that seems like a lot. I had to do a overnight sleep study and I didnt have to pay a dime but I have amazing insurance. I would call them again and make sure, that seems like a lot to me. Best of luck to you!
  15. cervantes, you are doing great, I lost 15 of that 78 before the surgery ( I have that in my ticker) so you are doing fantastic! I followed what the doc said somewhat, I did what I felt my body needed and when it needed it. I was eating sooner that most, trying new things all the time, mixing it up constantly, food/and exercise to get the perfect balance. Everyone is different, I have fell off the wagon , not food wise but I have had several weekend with some alcohol involved and did just fine. I am sure I could have lost more but I am ok with were I am. Best of luck to you all and thanks again!
  16. Yaay to you! Hope fully you will continue to handle all your spicy stuff, I have and never had an issue!
  17. Congrats on your decision to have the surgery, you will do great, keep us posted!
  18. All I needed was a change of clothes to wear home, my chapstick, phone and charger and a brush/headband for my hair. I brought so much more and didnt use hardly anything. Go easy on stuff for home, your tastes will change and you might not like something the 2nd week you liked the 1st week. I had 2 types of protein drinks, 3 kinds of broths/soups, 3 kinds of crystal light and some popsicles. Best of luck to you!
  19. I was the same way Danaln, I was sooo ready for my surgery! I too was so tired of being fat controlling my life so I went for it....and I will never look back! This was the best decision I have ever made for myself. Best of luck to you!
  20. Oh yes, my first appt was late October and they wanted to do surgery late November and then early December. I had to wait till beginning of Feb to get the time off I needed. Best of luck for a speedy approval!
  21. I am six months out and can eat 6 oz dense protein and a small ( 1/4- 1/2 c) of vegies at a meal. I had 2 oz chicken lunchmeat, 1/2 cup cottage cheese and 4 cherry tomatoes for lunch yesterday. Everyone is different but I think you are just fine! I just upped my water/food/exercise when I had a stall and it worked for me!
  22. Thanks everyone! I had my surgery Feb 9th, I am going in this Friday for my 6 month appt...I am excited and nervous...weird huh? Sorry again the pics arent great, they are blowing up too large and blurry. Maybe I can get some normal pics this weekend.
