  1. I would definetly make an appt with your Doctor, you need to talk to someone. I dont think you should be having as many issues as you are. Sure, everyone is different and handles surgeries different but if you take wellbutrin and havent taken it in a week, that could be part of the problem. Pleas call and get in to the doc, you can do this with some help. Best of luck to you.
  2. If you have a good surgery clinic, they know how to word the paperwork for the insurance company. Good luck to you!
  3. Absolutely it is ok. I have only had one sandwich since surgery, it was about a month ago, 1 slice with some tuna on it...couldnt finish it but it wasnt very much, I think it only weighed 5 oz total. Go for it!
  4. If you are getting enough protein from foods you are fine. I dont drink my protein shakes much anymore, I prefer solids if I can.
  5. I was about 5 weeks when I first tried salad...had no issues and loved it! Congrats on quitting smoking too by the way!
  6. Welcome! I had my surgery Feb 9th, 2012 and have had no issues at all. Of course the first few days I was a bit sore but nothing I couldnt handle. I was up and about at the hospital walking around an hour after getting back from surgery,it helped since it hurt my back to lay in the bed too long ( hospital beds arent known to be too comfy!) Best of luck to you.
  7. I used the muscle milk lights from the get go...love them! I bought the rtd ones, easier for me and seemed less grainy than the powders. I advise going to GNC and getting a few different types in singles and give them a try.
  8. Hi Abe, Welcome and congrats on making the decision to change your life. If you really read into this site, most people do not have those complications, just a few. You could get those same issues with the lap band I believe. I myself , had no complications other than feeling nauseaus coming out of surgery ( common I guess) I believe if you go into this with a clear, positive mind set, you will be just fine. I would do it all over again 10 times to be where I am today. I will be 5 months out on July 9th and am down 72 lbs, 57 since surgery and cant remember the last time I felt this good. Good luck on your decision, keep us posted!
  9. I personally told everyone thay would listen what I was doing. I got lucky and got no negative feedback but it is a personal choice for everyone. I figured that if I let them know it would be easier at parties, dinners etc so I wouldnt have to explain myself every time. Good luck!
  10. Woo hoo! Best of luck for a speedy approval!
  11. Congrats to all you upcoming July sleevers! Best of luck to you all!
  12. I feel the younger you are, they easier the surgery will be. Why not be as healthy as you can be at a young age? I wish I could have done this years ago....Good luck with your decision.
  13. I wouldnt worry about it, you are just sooo excited, who can blame you! I screw up all the time and just edit it. Congrats again!
  14. I agree with Nate, she didnt have a good outcome with her wls so she isnt being supportive. She may be jealous...never know. Have you tried talking to her, face to face about this? If after that she doesnt support you, you can come back to us...we will support you 110%, we are all family here! Good luck with the talk
  15. Oh yes, it gets easier...really soon. Like Gene said, every week you will notice the difference in how much water you can handle. I still cant gulp like I used to but I can get enough to satisfy the thirst. Good luck!
  16. Me too, I have salads all the time, and I was about 5 weeks out ( I think...) when I tried it for the first time, no issues at all, just couldnt eat much of the greens after getting the protein in so make it small so you dont have to waste ( I learned that the hard way, I hate to throw away food!) Good luck
  17. Well, how much do you need to lose? Maybe you are just a slow loser, which can be great in preventing lots of saggy skin. I would be calling the doc about the tiredness and nausea, you shouldnt have that at 19 weeks out, I havent had any tiredness since 3 weeks out. Are you eating enough, drinking enough water? I find when I stall, changing the amount of food I eat seems to break the stall. Good luck to you.
  18. Wow, you look amazing, keep up the good work!
  19. Nope, I am in California but I want to welcome you and tell you congrats on your date. Best of luck to you!
  20. Yaaay! That is soooo close, only 3 weeks!!! Keep us posted! Best of luck to you!
  21. Yaaay Jessica, welcome! I too went crazy at home, I had to take 3 weeks after, the doc wouldnt let me go back any earlier. I was ready 5 days after surgery! I was able to do soft foods at 2 weeks, hang in there, it will come sooner than you think. Congrats to you and again welcome to this site, you will love it!
  22. You wont be dissapointed Johnathan, you make the right choice. Congrats to you and welcome!
  23. You will be able to have it soon...they have some pretty good sugar free jams out there too!
  24. Welcome Christy...and congrats on your decision...and your weight loss! You will love this forum, everyone is super nice and you can find out pretty much anything you need here.
  25. I am sure they noticed...maybe they were afraid to say anything? Some people lose weight because of health issues. It is a personal thing with some people I guess. All that matters is....you are losing weight and looking great! Keep up the good work!
