  1. Post op sept group sure! I'm game. Just like u said we newbies need each other.
  2. And may I add taking care of a 16 month old!! My life use to be easier but I carry on. My hubby is getting better but at times it's a lot I admit. So yes I vent cause once again my dr. didn't really speak about a healing period or what not. I just don't want all of this to be for nothing.
  3. I am happy with my surgery. So far. U have to understand that I've been trying to heal cause yes I will over do it cause I hate cardio and I like to lift weights but I can't for another 2 weeks or so. I do have a hellified schedule but that is recently. I use to work out in the evenings but I don't have time. I use too. When my kid was in daycare. Now he is with a sitter. It is a long story but I work full time. I am my husbands caregiver too. He is 25 and is at home due to heart failure. So it's not about trying but I have serious obligations to my family and I'm the primary bread winner. I almost cancelled but my hubby cheered me on and to not put this on hold cause of him. So no I just don't do what I want to do during the day. My day ia full of obligations, work, dr appts etc. Trying to keep my husband alive.
  4. I'm in Dallas and I have to work out before I go to work, which means I'm up at 4:15 and headed to the gym. It sucks. I have to pick up my child after work from the sitter. So I can't fo it after work like I use too. Dr. Fox and true results rocks! Theyve helped me thru every step. Once I'm on solids I will feel better. I can eat spaghetti squash and some grilled chicken....I can't wait!!!
  5. im over 2 weeks and cannot have solid food yet! wow your lucky! Im still in the mushie faze and just some soft veggies, but I dont eat potatoes so, yeah.
  6. the scale hasnt moved for me. It just stays at the same weight. I dont eat much salt at all. My diet is low sodium and low carb before surgery. Weight loss also depends on how much you weighed before. The larger you are the more weight you will lost. Water weight goes first. So Yeah I'm with you, dr never told me that I would stall or a healing period. He said an average of 2lbs a week. My first week, the weight was falling off and the 2nd week, nothing. Not one pound. This is my 3rd week and my fill will be on 09/27/11 and I go see my doctor tomorrow. Im gonna try 4 days of working out. Last week I had a few things come up and I only worked out twice. So we'll see.
  7. i track everything thru myfitnesspal.com I eat an average of 600 calories per day. I know i need to excersize and this week I'm doing 4 days. I cannot lift weight which is killing me, I hate, hate, hate cardio. I struggle with boredom to do 30 min, but I do it. I do hard cardio, I dont like classes or anything. Not a people person. I either jog or hit the eliptical. I am not hungry either. I dunno how others are getting banded and getting hungry. I force myself to eat.
  8. Eggs, baked beans, shredded chicken, tuna, chili, yogurt, tofu, cottage cheese, and chopped shrimp.
  9. Omg burping ia good! After surgery I couldn't burp for days. It was painful.
  10. Oh yeah I'm a low carber all the way. I ve eaten oatmeal cause I'm still on the mush phase and my choices are limited. So this week I'm having oatmeal twice a week. I haven't had oatmeal in about 2 years before this past week. To be a low carber and not able to eat meat, cheese, veggies etc has been hard. I can eat eggs now, which is a relief. I'm so ready for solids. My dr too didn't say anything about a healing period! He also has his patients on a low carb diet. Which is fine by me.
  11. I am in Dallas tx. I'm trying to lose 50 lbs. Anything over that and I'm super happy. This coming week I will try to get in the gym at least 3 days. Maybe that will help.
  12. I rarely exceed 600 a day. I am trying to work thru my issues. As for my 22lbs i started weighing myself 5 days pre op. The day of my surgery I was 290 and now I'm 282. So I am happy for that lost but I don't like just stalling for a week, but I promise myself no more weigh ins for a week!
  13. I'm only 2 weeks post op but for me was the day I had no more gas pains !! I was so happy!!
  14. I just want to wear cute skimpy clothes! That's it.
  15. I wish just one pound!!! Please!?!?! I just want the scale to move just a little. The scale is evil!!!
  16. i try to drink at least 60 oz of water a day. I worked out on Monday and today I'll be walking for 3hrs. I'm trying not to overdo it, cause I have tendency to overdo it.
  17. I like the oatmeal. I'm full all the time and have to force myself to eat regularly. I'm gonna give up the oatmeal after it's all gone. I feel too guilty. It's too many carbs for me. I will look up the 9 months post op thingie. I admit I am too hard on myself at times but that's in everything. It keeps me motivated and working hard. I'm naturally lazy! Lol!! I'll say no to the scale. My husband needs it so I can't throw it out. I'm try to be happy about the 22lbs I've lost in 15 days.
  18. As for the liquids. I drank all day. I didn't have to do 30 min in-between. It only applied when I ate something. I cannot drink until 30 min or after a meal.
  19. I'm two weeks out. Gas pains are long gone. I'm eating eggs now and very soft foods. Everything is staying down. I'm not tired or weak. I have been tracking everything using myfitnesspal. Yet, I have that feeling in the back of my head. That voice that whispers to me, "we are not losing weight, wtf?! Do something". Yes, I'm a total type A personality. When it comes to dieting and working out I'm hard on myself. Yes, Texas Bandit goes a little cray-cray every now and then. So now, I am questioning the whole healing period notion. I kinda feel like its BS, but you know I'm always a skeptic. So i'm trying to prevent the cray-cray from happening. I'm trying to stay away from the gym. I will overdo it, I know I will. Thats just me. I should have not started weighing myself. Thats where I went wrong. I weigh everyday out of curiosity at first, but now every morning the scale hasnt move I curse it. I wanna throw it. Before all this I would weigh myself every 2 weeks. I feel bloated. Ugh.... I just dont know what to do. How long does this period last? Y aint I losing weight? I'm eating so little, but I feel like i'm eating a lot. I get full quick and I'm not even hungry. Should I give up oatmeal? I think its the oatmeal. Befor surgery I hadnt had oatmeal in about a year. More Water maybe?? Help!
  20. didnt your doctor give you instructions and follow up appointment? You should have a list of things you can eat and at what pace.
  21. I know that the first month or so is for healing, but I can help but to be frustrated. The scale hasnt moved for me at all. I'm getting about 600-700 calories a day. I still feel like I'm eating too much. I track everything on myfitnesspal. I've only worked out once this week, but will work out today. Hopefully I can get one day in this weekend. I just dont get how healing stops weight loss. I feel maybe its something that the doctor tells people so they dont go crazy. I'm so impatient I know. I'm a pessimist by nature so I'm not too sure this is all gonna work, but I'm gonna give it a try. I eat a lot less than I did before and before I didnt eat much. I'm tired of the scale not moving. I even feel more bloated, but it could be constipation. I dunno I'm just so mad.
  22. i have an office job. i had surgery on a friday. i'm off the weekends and monday was labor day. i'd say 5 days was good for me.
  23. I have lots of torso fat so maybe that's y mine doesn't show.
  24. Well I don't know where my port is! I'm 2 weeks out. I don't have any indication it is there. But then again every body is different.
